WELCOME TO SUMABI - Modern Mexican Cuisine.
Started in 2018 out of a sushi cart located in Riverside, CA with one goal in mind: to introduce our Mexican combination of Sushi & Mariscos to Southern California. Our dedication outgrew our cart, so we opened our first location in our hometown of Colton, CA. As our amazing foods continue to captivate so does our need for growth. This place looked great online but fell short in person. The food was great but the service was very lacking. I wondered if it was our servers first day but when I spoke to other guests who had gone previously they also experienced terrible service. A don’t be fooled by the margarita trio hype. They were ubdrinkable. Stick with a beer and sit at the sushi bar.

Had made reservations for 5:15 on a Saturday but got there a little early before. We were seated right away. We ordered the Babyface Roll, 951 Roll, and the Tostada De Atum. I also ordered the Soju Fights which were really delicious. The Tostada De Atum came out first without any utensils, napkins or plates so we had to wait 20ish minutes before we saw our waiter again. The rolls were tasty however, they were very skimpy and just overpriced for the quality of food. The Tostada De Atum was delicious, A must-try. My family and I were still hungry and we wanted to order more but it just took too long for our food to come out and we were just so irritated at that point. Right before we had left, I mentioned to the waiter that they needed more help and he said to me next time make a reservation, which was very odd because we did make a reservation but what does that have to do with your services being ridiculously slow?! we even saw a few couples walk out because they were taking too long, just to place their order. My family and I were extremely disappointed. Would not be returning nor will I recommend Sumabi.

Food was great ! But it wasn’t busy and took 15 minutes just to get our drinks. Then our appetizer came with our food as well which didn’t make sense to me since it should come before. I had to get up and ask a server to order. Won’t be coming back

This place is tucked away and quaint. The food is real good, the service is awesome, cold beer a little disappointing they do not offer any wine, real important if you're not a beer or Saki drinker. The Sashimi portions are tasty, but paper thin. The Sushi bar only had one chef, it was busy and he still did a good job. Overall the food is good, the prices are fair, the place needs a revamp of lighting, expand their beer/wine permit to include wine and read the room of the music selections and this can be a nice little neighborhood retreat.
