Service was outstanding, well curated cellar and creative dishes. Combined with the breathtaking views you won't be disappointed.
This restaurant it over the top fabulous. The service was amazing, the view is beautiful, the food was beautifully presented!! I highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion or just if you want a fabulous dinner. No beach attire!!
Studio is one of the best dining experiences available in OC. The food, the staff, the ambiance, the experience....all top-notch. We continue to celebrate special occasions here and are happy every time. Highly recommend it!
View was undeniably the best and food was amazing. I was highly disappointed in the fact that staff knew it was our 10 year wedding anniversary and a complimentary drink or dessert was not offered. Service was great at the beginning part of our meal, but faltered towards middle and end when they got busier. We actually thought they had forgotten about us! When sun went down staff could not get outdoor heaters to work at our table and neighboring tables. We had a very early reservation and were seated initially next to a busy wedding reception, which I had to ask to be moved, which we were, but still very noisy and disruptive.
This was probably the best restaurant I have dined at in six continents. The ambience, setting and scenery were superb. The cuisine was simply outstanding with an array of interesting tastes. I have The wine list was extensive. The service was completely comprehensive without being intrusive. They simply knew when to serve and remove, and were completely courteous. I would return there in a heartbeat for any reason. We dined there for a special occasion with friends and it was unforgettable.
Ambience and experience was lovely - however, the food was over -thought, emphasis on being unique and unusual rather than on flavor and sincerity
The ambiance was stunning and the food was good. However, I can't help but feel a bit "ripped off" at the very high price for brunch - $150/person - and the extra charge for each coffee/juice. The food was exquisitely presented, yet microscopic in portion. Not small - I really mean microscopic. We went out and ate afterwards. For this high a price - not worth it.
The food was absolutely delicious and the service was perfect. I do feel, however, that $45 for noodles for my son is a little over the top.
As usual, great food, and over the top service. I recommend a table outside if available. Beautiful ocean views to go with the awesome food.
Thank you to the amazing staff and Chef Craig Strong! The elegant cuisine and beautiful location made for a dreamy evening.
amazing food. Treat yourself! Wagyu beef, good wine, great cocktails. Ambience is luxurious. Best dining experience in Laguna.
Studio at Montage is very special in every way. Selections from both tasting menus and the a la carte menu can be combined, and some courses can be ordered as either appetizer or main course size. Every effort is made to accommodate the customer. Tables and the overall setting allow for private conversations; the noise level is low. The servers are very helpful and efficient.
Always the best!
Fabulous! Food first class. Service first class. Atmosphere superb!
One word...Spectacular! I would highly recommend Studio for any occasion.
So amazing! The view on the outside patio was phenomenal. We were sat at 5:15 and the sun was setting just as our beverages hit our lips. The FOH staff was top notch! We did the tasting menu which was incredible and perfectly paired with wines by the sommelier. Saul, Patrick and the bartender Richard gave excellent recommendations on not only the food and beverage but after dinner activities as well. They brought us for a tour of the kitchen and we met the Chef who gave us a quick history of the kitchen. All in all, an amazing experience.
When I googled fine dining for a special occasion Studio turned up on all the lists so I braced my wallet and made the reservation. Open table only allowed me 5:45pm time although I wanted later so I was pleasantly surprised when the concierge confirmed my reservation and had no issue with me pushing to a more reasonable arrival time. The place was almost empty at 7pm so not sure that that was about. The meal was excellent – 5 stars to the chef and his team. Now for the mystery: when my wife asked the sommelier to recommend a chardonnay she was 100% wrong the 1st time, almost OK on the 2nd time from what we were told was an "open bottle”. We mentioned we would not have more than 2 glasses. Fast forward to paying the bill and viola: the entire “open” bottle charged. Now we probably did drink more than 2 glasses but it was done clandestinely with refills from a carafe. Very strange and unusual. All however forgiven with the memory of a world class cuisine experience.
Fabulous view, food, wine list, and service. One of the best restaurants in the US, period. Certainly one of the best views also. Great service, creative menu.
OUR MAIN WAITER WAS GREAT .. FRIENDLY AND OVERALL VERY NICE
GREAT VIEW / THE SUNSET WAS GREAT
Thinking about my experience over the last 24 hours I would like someone to reach out to me so I can express my concerns. Please note that this is coming from somebody who does not complain and moves on. I’m also in the service industry as a business owner. In this case it was all about first glance and one chance. Having a reservation and waiting for ourtable over 45 minutes later than my reservation then waiting for a wine menu and a first glass of wine and chasing down the menu for the entire night, no this is a horrific experience. I told the hostess, manager and waiter that they just weren’t getting it. Very disappointed.
Our only issue was that we had to wait over 30 minutes past our reservation time for a table but the meal and the service were excellent as always
You are not going to get out of Studio without spending a fortune, but food and service are appropriate for the price point. I would recommend it for special occasions.
Food was excellent and service was impeccable. We got to the resort 30 minutes earlier and enjoyed beautiful sunset before heading to the restaurant. We had excellent window seating so we could continue to enjoy the remaining sunset colors. The menu choices were just right, not too little, not too much. They had an excellent vegetarian 6 course meal my wife absolutely loved. I would recommend the restaurant to anyone looking for a romantic date.
I booked a table for two for my boyfriends' birthday and i called in advance and asked for impeccable service (as expected from a fine dining restaurant). I have to say the ambiance and the view is breathtaking. Service, i wasn't too pleased with my server she addressed my bf as me and looked at me and said happy birthday. She was trying to be friendly but she made it awkward for us and i didn't find the introduction amusing and felt a little insulted that she would address us that way and then i said:"this is my bf it's his birthday and not me' then she continued the joke to say :'oh yes, everyone here knows it's your birthday" this upset me because i had pre-ordered for a birthday cake and i didn't want her to spoil it. Also, we told her that we are hungry and the food took too long to come out. Also, we had to ask her for the bread and butter. I was a GM for a French fine dining restaurant in Dubai and i know all about how important it is to give excellent customer service because it is not about eating and leaving, it's an experience and you pay top $ for excellent service and quality food. I think the staff needs more training to improve on what is already a spectacular concept.
First class all the way! Studio is a real winner, and of course you pay for it. Quite formal, not for children. Servers give excellent descriptions and advice.
Very good service. View at sunset is romantic. Good food
Delicate and esquisite food, excellent service, nice setting. Expensive wine list.
Once again, I was not disappointed with my latest trip to The Studio. Bartender was great with before dinner drink at the bar, oysters, hamachi appetizers were perfect. We had kobi beef and venison for our mains. Everything was perfect as expected.
The food was just ok and given that the prices were outrageous, it was a letdown.
I picked a bottle of wine from the menu (I believe it was around $350). When I ordered it from the Sommelier, he talked me out of it and suggested another wine. I should have asked the price but he kept saying “in that price point”. When the bill came, I saw it was $550! And honestly...i didn’t even care for it.
Excellent food and service. Best restaurant in Laguna Beach.
My favorite restaurant to celebrate a special occasion. My girlfriend and I try to dine here at least once a year. The food and service are outstanding and the view, especially at sunset is breathtaking
Our waiter, Saul, was AMAZING (!!!!!)
He truly made our experience perfect.
The food was good— great tasting and well crafted.
Absolutely the most incredible meal I've ever had with the most impeccable service I've ever experienced and I'm from NY! This is a restaurant for food & wine connoisseurs! Although to share this experience with our young adult children will forever be our most cherished Christmas meal together. Oh and the views are stunning.
This was easily the best food, drinks, service, and restaurant we have ever had .
Service was horrible. Not worth your money even with the food being great.
Every restauranteur owner would do themselves well to dine at Studio at Montage. It’s a marketing study in excellence to be experienced and learned from.
Over the years, each visit has exceeded the prior. The gourmet delicacies depicted in the photos tasted as good as it looks. Pricey, but if you’ve never experienced Wagyu beef it’s a must, but note it’s $45 per oz, 3 oz min.
Was at Studio on Saturday, just weeks before Christmas and all the decorations at Montage made for an extra enchanting romantic evening.
This is a 5-Star resturant which hasn’t lost its magic since it’s 2003 debut
Modern French cuisine with California influences
The only nice part of the evening was the service.. and our friends
Feel like we got ripped off..
The food and service were wonderful. We were disappointed with the solemner. Three of the wines we tried to order from the wine list were not available. When asked for other recommendations, he offered wines that cost three times what we had inquired. Rather than asking what we were seeking, he seemed more motivated to sell us higher priced wines. He also copped attitude when we did not take his higher priced recommendations. Note: our “wine budget” was $200. It’s really too bad that he spoiled an otherwise wonderful dinner. We ended up picking a rather banal wine wine that you can buy at the grocery store for $40 bucks.
