Strong Waters Craft Cocktails & Kitchen
At Strong Waters, we take the meaning of craft to the next level by sourcing only the freshest and highest quality ingredients for our cocktails and cuisine. We utilize the “Farm to Shaker” method for our cocktails, meaning we create unique drinks from local ingredients that transport you to another time and place. Our craft beer list is constantly changing and we only select beer from breweries around the state to give you a true taste of the Carolinas. Speaking of taste, we believe you’ll love our take on the flavors of the Lowcountry in the dishes on our main menu!
Great food and atmosphere
Very underwhelming. Food was decent but very basic.
Really enjoyed the setting, service and diverse menu options.
We were looking for a restaurant taking reservations for 6 on New Years Eve and found Strong Waters on Open Table. We arrived early and were still seated rightaway. The food and service were wonderful, plus the live music was great. We really enjoyed our evening!
Very few patrons. This restaurant/bar has TVs lining the wall above the bar which is not how it is advertised, really kills the vibe of a craft kitchen. Brussel leaves were good, truffle fries cold and only had truffle oil on maybe 10 fries, asked for more truffle oil and they brought me olive oil. Lobster egg rolls were delicious and crab cake sandwich good but bun was twice size of the crab cake.
Scallops delicious, tenderloin fantastic! Service was great!
I cannot imagine coming to this restaurant again in my life. The fish was underdone while the risotto was lacking seasoning meanwhile, the mediocre, overpriced cocktails were modestly poured.
Strong Waters was everything you want your casual dining experience to be. The food and drinks were delicious and innovative, the staff was friendly and helpful, the social distancing was carried out effectively and safely and the prices were reasonable. We will be putting this place on our list for any time we return to the Beach.
Loved the look/atmosphere. Not a lot of servers so service was a little slow. But the servers were very nice and quickly responded when asked. We decided on the bartenders choice and although pricey the drinks were amazing. We got the chef’s board. It was supposed to have meat, cheese, pickled vegetables, “mostarda” and preserves. Only had meat, cheese and fruit. We asked about the mustard and preserves and they said they didn’t have any. Sea Bass risotto, ghouda Mac and cheese and candies brussel sprouts were great.
First time cocktails were amazing as well as the food and service.
Little short on the help but overall the food was good. Mixed drinks were good.
If I could give less than one star, I would.
The service was abysmal, I was one of 6 people in the restaurant and it took almost 15 minutes for the bartender/server to acknowledge me. Once I ordered it took nearly 15 minutes to get my drink.
As for the food, I ordered a salad and the sea bass entree. The food took more than 30 minutes to be brought to the table and as soon as the plates were put down, I knew that the piece of fish was served was NOT sea bass.
I took one bite and confirmed that the it was some sort of fish but not sea bass, and it was overcooked and under seasoned. The bed of risotto was more like a mushed rice paste and lacked any sense of flavor.
I was eventually able to get the servers attention to send my meal back and get my check.
The entire experience was horrible and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
The food was good. One staff member wore her face mask on her chin, stood very close to patrons, and spoke loudly. Very selfish in this pandemic while the rest of the staff were PPE appropriately.
This was horrible food. The service was great and Jess did her job but damn- when you can’t even “grill” the grilled cheese sandwich ,we have a problem. It went downhill from there. We made a HUGE mistake going there- don’t be us.
Took a while for our drinks to arrive. Food was ok.
First impression wasn’t great, but wow! The food Was fabulous and had a great evening.
We've been customers of Strong Waters for a few years and have always had a great experience. The last one was disappointing. A waitress was repeatedly shouting through the restaurant, the chef's board which is usually awesome consisted of a bunch of grapes, cheddar cheese and some salami. It just didnt live up to our expectations and the cool vibe was just totally lacking. Our entrees were well cooked and tasty, so all was not lost.
They were under staffed in the kitchen so food took a while. Computers went down so they had to write stuff down and some came out later than others.
Food was all good, but not amazing. With the exception of the shrimp/crab dip, that was FABULOUS and the drinks were good too.
Waitress was nice and comped some stuff Dir to the kitchen errors so all in all it was a good experience, but not rushing to go back.
Beach. Not exactly a place for kids but they are always very nice and accommodating to our 2 boys. Husband loved the Smokin Oldie and the brussel leaves are amazing!
Very disappointed - didn’t have 3 of the dinner entrees. Bread was burnt- had to send my beed tenderloin back, asked for medium well, and it came out medium rare - very expensive for how poorly prepared the food was
Best night!
Considering everything this fabulous restaurant has to contend with because of covid, we were surprised at the amazing quality of the food and service. Make sure you have a reservation. It's required. There was even live music. Great experience.
We do not know how the food tastes so I cannot comment on that. We had a 7pm reservation. Showed up a 2 mins to 7. Place had very few people there. After 5 mins of standing there, the bartender acknowledged us and told us they “would be with us in 5 mins”. After 7 more mins of standing there (many open tables, 3 people working the bar for 7 customers), we finally get seated. They hand us a lunch menu for dinner. 17 more mins pass, no waitress or bartender to take a drink order. We decided that after about 1/2 hour after our reservation time and still no drinks, it was not worth staying.
Loved this venue. Bartender was excellent. Made us some interesting suggestions for craft drinks. She asked what flavors we liked and she came up with something unusual and very tasteful.
We are in here for burgers and found them very tasty. Our appetizer was brussels sprouts and that was equally amazing.
This establishment is excellent with social distancing and mask wearing. If you’re concerned about COVID-19 this is a place you can feel safe and enjoy a meal.
Cocktails were great. Food was okay.
We came to the beach for the week. Make a reservation if possible. We did, and got right in. Everything is still social distancing. So many turned away to eat because of distancing . Our bar tender Katie, was in training. She was so personable and attentive. Very engaging. Other servers were abrupt and short. We left her a big tip but then saw her throw it in a bucket, probably shared by all. Do people in training get tips??? She deserved every penny we gave. We tried the smoked Old Fashion, a signature drink. It was so cool to watch them make it and serve. Very good!!
Worst experience I’ve ever had in my life. Honestly not even sure how this restaurant is open.
The food was horrible. I ordered a burger and it came out raw. The reviews of this place looked great so I was very disappointed. I also think the photos are deceiving. I would not go back
We had an amazing night with friends over great food and drinks.
Although they discounted our meal and tried to make it right this is the second time we’ve tried this restaurant and truly we just aren’t impressed. My husband ordered the filet medium rare and it came out medium well. They did cook him a new steak but by that time his side were cold. My pork was very dried out as well. They did give our table free desserts but even the bread pudding just honestly was disappointing. The drinks were good and tasty I will say that. They did have live music that made a lovely atmosphere. So maybe we will just go back for drinks one day.
Great service, our waiter/bartender was very friendly, attentive and had great recommendations
Great cocktails, excellent food. Try the Sea Bass, you can't go wrong.
Good overall. With a few minor tweaks, it could be excellent. On our Caesar Salad, the grated Parmesan should have been grated in house or - even better- shaved.
The red wine bottle, appropriately priced, was room temp and would have been much better at 60-65.
Attention to details overall would make this a great value and a favorite.
I just did not feel like I got value for the cost. I would have told you if you asked. I found your wait staff attentive but not friendly.
We took my mother here for her 94th birthday and they were so accommodating. The food and drinks were delicious and Jess, our bartender and server was exceptional. The scallops were amazing! Definitely check it out!
Ugh, I wanted to love this place. The menu is creative with a variety of great options, and the cocktail list is impressive, but it just didn't deliver. I know that part of the issue is that we dined on NYE, with limited staff, and the restaurant was absolutely packed, but we just didn't get enough out of the experience to make us want to return. Our cheese board must have been reused from a previous table because a wedge of cheese had an obvious bite, but we just threw it aside instead of overwhelming the already frazzled weight staff of 2. The lobster mac & cheese was good but lacked any wow factor, and the ribeye was extremely chewy. The place has potential, but they would have been better suited to close for NYE instead of delivering a subpar experience.
Holiday evening. Staff was very friendly but busy. Menu is interesting but a little limited. Overall, pretty good.
Excellent menu and staff!
The food and cocktails were fantastic!
Everything was great! Thanks.
