Coming to Waterside District on the banks of the Elizabeth River, Stripers Waterside will offer a diverse lunch and dinner menu consisting of seafood, pasta, steak, sandwiches and more. Stripers Waterside will also serve a Sunday brunch menu and house 30 beers on tap, giving Norfolk a new place to enjoy breakfast or after-work drinks by the water.
The restaurant’s original location, Stripers Bar & Grille in Manteo, N.C., is a favorite among locals and visitors and known for its fresh-caught seafood, draft beer and panoramic water views. Spanning approximately 8000 square feet, the new location at Waterside District will continue the Stripers tradition of using homemade ingredients, from sauces to desserts and more.
RESERVATIONS DO NOT GUARANTEE OUTSIDE SEATING! OUTSIDE SEATING IS FIRST COME FIRST SERVED
I would return for the bar drinks menu. The food was not good.
The food was fair and the prices high, but seafood is always expensive. We had a beautiful water view.
Our food and server were amazing. Best food and experience I had all weekend.
The ambiance was absolutely stunning. It was pretty warm for late fall the night we were there but sitting outside with the fire pit going and looking at the water was fantastic. Our server Vlad was also great. I'll definitely be back.
Our server was amazing! However the grouper could have been cooked a little longer. Def had some stomach aches the next day, but everything else was perfect 😊
Typical chain restaurant. Poor food prep. Pretty much tasteless except for the old bay wings, which were amazingly crispy and spicy.
This website and all others has the incorrect closing time. We got there unknowingly as they were closing but the hostest did not inform us. She said their last SEATING was at 8. So we sat, the waitress then told us that the kitchen was closed and we could only get fried foods. When we inquired why, they told us that they were closed. Confused, we ordered quickly. The food was sub-par and not fully cooked.
So here is my issue with the experience. If you are closing, share that EXPLICITLY. Do not give me some ambiguous answer about your last seating and then rush my meal. We had out of town guests that complained that this was the worst restaurant experience they had ever had. Not good for business.
Kind of hard to find. Seated next to the window with the a.c. blasting on me & my food.
Had an OK dinner inside. Stripers was chilly, had a cafeteria style ambiance (bright and loud with a buss boy around a clearing cart), my husbands cocktail was mediocre and food was just okay.
Nice atmosphere and good food.
Worst restaurant ever.
The service was very slow and she never pre-bussed causing a family of flies to be annoying. The drinks were awesome but food mediocre compared to prices.
Waiter was awful, he took a long time to take our order, once food came he never came back to our table
Our server was awful. It took almost hour to get our food and when we pointed out all the other tables that order after us but had already received their food, he gave us an attitude. I ordered a steak salad and requested the mixed greens be substituted with romaine lettuce, which seemed like a simply request because they had a Caesar salad on the menu, he told me they might not have romaine lettuce but would check. He did not check and my salad came out with mixed greens. The manager was very pleasant when we spoke with her and said she would address the issues with the waiter. I’d be willing to give it another shot because the food was good.
We went for the views. Our waiter, Will, was fantastic, but the kitchen.... very poor. The appetizers took 30 mins and then the main dishes took and hour and half. My wife orders a filet mignon, what came out was not a filet. It looked like a burned to death sirloin. They did comp the steak though. Some food was hot, some was cold. Over all a very poor performance by the kitchen.
Highly recommend Stripers. Great value. Excellent service!
Horrible service, poor quality meal, and overpriced food.
Great restaurant! Perfect for a casual meal outside with our family. Chris our server was great, the food, drinks and ambiance was perfect. We will definitely return on our next trip to Norfolk.
Two beer selections ran out after 1 of each. A cocktail was delivered that was not ordered. The mashed potatoes tasted like boxed potato flakes. The green beans were overcooked to a mushy consistency. None of the 3 orders of seafood pasta received bread. Come on folks, what has happened to the attention to detail?
The service was awesome thanks to Chris:) The food was mediocre at best. The shrimp, salmon, steak, chicken were all room temperature or cold and the veggies were barely warm.
Enjoyed the view and the food was fresh and just the right size portions. We tried the margarita flight and will definitely return soon.
I paid $30 for 5 small scallops and a 1/2 cup of risotto. Not worth it
Service was poor. Brought appetizer with no utensils or plates. 15 min later we flagged a manager down who got them. Server returned to bring food and never saw her again until the very end. Food was very good though.
We understand that restaurants are very unstaffed now, but having to wait 30 minutes for a beer that clearly sat on the counter for 20 minutes and and an overpriced entree that was so tiny in comparison to what the description revealed, the experience was not satisfying at all.
Food was awful and the service was less than adequate.
Will(William) lwas great. He knew what l to recommend as well as drinks & my husband and I enjoyed our date day on the water. We will definitely be back soon.
1ST & last time we eat there! Lousy overcooked ( & because so I can now say "overpriced " ) food...super slow service & really no excuse as they weren't busy. Now we know WHY! Very disappointing as we were celebrating a ONCE IN A LIFETIME High School Graduation of our twins. 😢
We dined there for a post-graduation celebration. I chose this restaurant because I used it for a larger birthday celebration a couple of years ago and loved it. I was very disappointed this time however. While service was great, the entrees were very disappointing. My party complained about their meals being very bland( the fried fish, hamburger), with one exception, those who ordered the fish tacos. The appetizers were good, crab dip, crab soup, calamari.
The food was good and our server was attentive and nice.
Service was great! Food was good , scenery and ambiance was lovely
I brought some out of town guests here and they really enjoyed it! Will definitely be back
Very busy. Service slow. Food was either tasteless or had too many spices. Food was cold when we finally got it.
Appetizer was ok, there version of Bang Bang shrimp. I got the flight of Don Julio Margaritas, it didn't taste like Don Julio tequila was used, I used to run an ABC store I know what Don Julio tastes like. We move on our server had tables all over the dining room we felt rushed whenever he did come by the table. Not impressed overall doubt that we would come back.
Outstanding service and food I will definitely go again
Lacks quality and quantity for the price. Great view on the water, check it out and go eat someplace else. Several great restaurants within blocks (or even next door). Also, no striper on the menu.
The night was OK. Our server had a hard time refilling drinks for the kids. We still had a good time because of our company.
Stripers Waterside has fantastic food, amazing drinks (plus happy our specials) AND there isn’t a bad view from anywhere in this restaurant. The staff is polite and knowledgeable, and even at their busiest, we always were checked on to make sure our dining experience was as memorable and amazing as the food! WILL BE BACK! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
Our server was amazing, we recommend the white mango sangria for drinks, scallops risotto for a meal and then the key lime pie for dessert! Never forget the hush puppies with honey butter!
The service was average at best. Food was semi cold when I got it. Probably will not go again.
Delicious food and great service!
