Great atmosphere, staff was awesome! The food was amazing !
I didn't bother saying anything to the servers or wait staff, but I definitely wouldn't go back. Reservations for 715pm arrived at 710pm seated at 745pm. Awkwardly stood in the doorway when we could have been moved to a riomier spot away from traffic flow.
Most everyone in our party had a hamburger with fries. The burgers were the size of a Culvers burger and tasted similar fries were ok. Cost was around $15-17.00 per burger. I had a cobb salad. Nothing exciting there.. about $ 16.00. Pretzels and onion rings for apps...pretzels were very good.. onion rings sub-par. I ordered a soda and even though it was empty before apps, no offer was made to refill. It was very busy until after apps then very few few tables were busy. Tried to get a refill at that time but server never came back. Extra service fee on bill with no explanation that i saw written or spoken. I'm aware most places are doing this and I'm fine with it because i realize places are struggling, but I think it should either be posted clearly or advised. No plates with app or utensils... just a really disappointing experience. Totally over priced. We will not go back. With an 18%tip, bill came out to about $30.00 a person...no alcohol, one soda, no dessert... seemed too high for a bar with average food.
We made a reservation in advance to ensure seating for a party of 4. The restaurant and bar were packed and the staff was overwhelmed. Our food came out incorrectly with
I loved Stray Dog! I got the stuffed pretzel burger and I highly recommend it.
The staff is always friendly and the food is great! Whenever there's been a miscue in the order they are always quick to fix with no hesitation. One minor change we'd make is to dim the lighting a bit, it's a little bright for our liking.
The drinks were made with flat soda water, the food wasn't cooked fully, the one server was running the entire place on his own, including the bar. He was nice and trying, but you can only do so much. The burger said it was a bacon/ground beef mix, but ended up just being a frozen patty. The cheese curds weren't fully cooked. I had to go up to the bar to get our tab after waiting for 20 minutes without being asked for anything. I hesitate to write the review because I am sure it because they are trying to stay afloat with COVID, but the place was rough enough that I feel it is necessary to say somethign.
The host wasn’t wearing a mask most of the time so I felt unsafe.
Stray dog is a great local joint that offers so many different options. Great for a vegetarian! However, the past two times our service has been slow. Usually takes about 5–10 to get greeted. We ordered a ton of food which was delicious, except for the nachos. The nachos were burnt, little to no brisket on the nachos, and hardly any cheese. I was hoping it would’ve been a larger portion and a bit more generous considering I was charged $13 for them. We love this neighborhood bar and hope to see some improvements in the future! We will be back!
I got a chicken sandwich and took two bites and it was completely raw. The waiter got me a new one but was pretty disgusted after the first one.
It was a nice surprise that we got a free birthday cupcake for our nephew who turned 20.
It was our first visit but won't be our last.
The place was jam packed, very little difference between the current seating and non-pandemic levels, which is out of compliance with the latest guidance I believe. The server must have been overwhelmed because we hardly saw him. And the rooster burger seemed to be missing its glaze. Not a cheap night out for a pretty mediocre experience.
The most accommodating vegetarian restaurant!! Best menu I've ever seen. Staff was friendly and helpful. Over atmosphere was incredible. Will be returning!
Service was friendly and efficient. Food was excellent and fresh. We really enjoyed ourselves.
We loved Stray dog! Good & ambience were perfect.
The Stray Dog has great food. Not just typical bar food but bar food with little extras for every pallet.
Great assortment of beer served by one of the best, Ian the bartender.
Nice ambiance, accommodating staff, and delicious food. Can’t wait to go back.
Good service, food and ambiance. Will definitely go back for the margarita and raspberry sour beer!
Server was super helpful, came by enough but wasn't intrusive
Overall, everything was good except the service. The server was rude, didn't come back for a while after we got our food, forgot our drinks that we ordered. Both bartenders were talking behind our back and we could hear them making rude comments about our group (not something you want your customers to hear). I had a good time, but we felt uncomfortable so we left.
If you have food allergies, be careful eating here. I told them my allergies up front, pointed out what would be an issue in my order, and the food didn't come out right.
I have a dairy allergy and there was cheese all over my tater tots and sandwich even though I specifically pointed asked the server to make sure they didn't add it. They were nice about it and whisked it away, but I realized quickly they'd just scooped the top layer of cheese and tots away and put fresh ones on top. So there was still cheese bits on my sandwich and more cheese scattered in the under layer, which I didn't discover until later. They replaced the bread once I pointed that out a second time. Food was fine. Over salted tots, no salt on the BLT ingredients so it tasted flat. My partner liked the cheese curds though the gluten free batter was different and not what he'd expected.
They didn't have enough servers to handle the customer level, which I get has to be a huge challenge right now, so service was pretty minimal. That was fine.
Ultimately, underwhelmed and won't be going back any time soon.
Fantastic burgers, friendly and efficient service. COVID precautions are taken seriously.
Austin was our server and he was great. We both really enjoyed our experience. Great place to watch the game, and tons of tap options!
The stray dog is a very comfortable, funky little place on E Hennepin Ave in NE Minneapolis. The dog artwork and decorations are really cute and interesting. The burgers are the thing to order on the menu - very delicious. The service was great and it was very safe and social distancing and masks were required.
This place has great vegan options and is wonderfully dog-friendly on the patio.
Overall pretty good food and service. Good beer selections. Would definitely go back.
Love this place! Just moved to the neighborhood and this is my new hangout. Great drinks, good beer selection and great food.
Very friendly staff. It seemed like they had proper spacing to make it safe with COVID. The food was great!
Great food, beers and in an enjoyable environment
We reserved a table outside and were able to move it into the sun, was a great experience and they were very accommodating.
Everything about the experience was amazing! Can’t wait to go back
Stray Dog is fantastic! I met the owner, by accident, and was telling him how good the service was and the food. I love this place and they have the best burger in the Twin Cities . The New Yorker is by far the best burger I have eaten in Minneapolis since I have moved here 25 years ago. Keep up the great work. I know it is tough times, but we will continue to do carry out in the winter months. Also, the staff has been fabulous! Courteous and very helpful.
The food was amazing and the wait staff was on point!!
The food was amazing but my fave was the bacon jalapeño wontons!!!
Love this place! Food is always great, we sat outdoors and had our dog with us and had a great time. Service was a little slower but I think it was because of a no show worker. But it still was a great lunch and the staff was very accommodating. Look forward to our next visit.
‘‘Twas good. Outside dining isn’t too great in the city, but in the pandemic that’s what we have so we take it.
Great food and service, which is the norm at Stray Dog. One of my top favorites.
Great place for a dog friendly patio experience. Food was good; prices reasonable and service was excellent. Good beer menu too.
I've been going to the Stray Dog for years and I've never had anything but excellent service and great food. I have Celiac and my friend is Vegan and the staff is great about making sure we are not served something we cannot eat. I love it because they have a dedicated fryer so I can eat their amazing tots! I will continue to come back again and again! Love the Stray Dog!
Stray Dog kitchen is excellent, and they have a great selection of beers. I'm always made to feel welcome here.
The food was delicious! I had the vegan spicy burger and it was soooo good! Also it was actually spicy which I appreciate. The fries were perfectly cooked, and I washed it all down with a superb local beer. We sat outside and it was obvious that the employees were cleanly and attentive.
