Our waiter was wonderful. Very polite and accomodating. Large menu, so all 7 of us could find something we wanted.
Food was very good. Daily lunch special of Hot Roast Beef Sandwich with 2 sides (my choice) of sautéed Brussels sprouts and fresh fruit was delicious. Large enough to take half home as leftovers. Service was outstanding.
Besides the bathtub salad bar, the food on the menu is good also! I usually order menu and add on the salad bar for five bucks!
Brought a group of seniors and they were delighted with the menu choices and Molly was a blessing! So patient and helpful. Food was delicious and the all want to come back! Thank you
Brunch on Sunday at Strawberry Street Cafe is always a delight. The avocado toasts on gluten free bread with scrambled eggs was delicious.
Great service! Crab cake benedict awesome! warm cinnamon buns would be a nice addition. The hot food could have been warmer..and maybe consider cheese less grits and potatoes for the dairy free people. Thanks!
Great food for our small group. Fresh and tasty! Check it out!
We were going to a lecture at Altria Theater and I looked for a place to eat. We loved the food, the price was superb and the cafe was charming.
For a Sunday morning brunch, it took over 90 minutes for our table of eight to be served. When the food did finally arrive, it was cold for most of us, and only okay. A very disappointing experience overall. Would not recommend to others.
I loved our waiter Michael!!!! So friendly, full of personality, and great service!!
Service was slow . Waited 30+ for food. Restaurant was busy but not full. Bloody Mary was outstanding. Eggplant Panini was good but would have preferred grilled vs fried eggplant. Onion Rings were good.
Food was great!
They advertised special meals today from 4-8pm however the specials on the menu were different. The server said they decided not to serve the specials as advertised. Food was okay, but nothing special.
I was surprised how quiet Strawberry Street Cafe was on a Sunday around 2 pm, but perhaps the brunch crowd had already passed. They have a brunch and lunch menu available, and our group ordered off both. The bathtub brunch buffet is a unique option, but their menu options are delicious as well. Moderate noise level. Very attentive server. Great meal!
We dined at this restaurant during a Sunday morning. My French Dip was very good; however, our order included Chicken Panino which was very dry and the outside was tough. Parking in this area is very difficult as we had to walk several blocks to this facility. Those who were with me seemed to enjoy their meal.
Really enjoyed Sunday brunch with friends before a show at Altria. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. The young man who waited on us was pleasant, very polite and responsive to any request. I would certainly come back again. Everyone was very pleased with my restaurant choice!
I would consider eating here again if all I wanted was to enjoy their excellent salad bar. Service is too uneven to dine here if you have to make it to the theater or another activity by a specific time.
The regular menu is fine but there many other comparable establishments in this price range and I would more likely try something new before returning here.
Went there before going to the Atria for a musical. Very good service and great food.
Great meal, excellent service. We are from out of town and were attending a show at the Altria. This is our second time having dinner here. It’s hard to find a place that’s open in time where you can enjoy your meal & still have time to make the show without feeling rushed. Strawberry Cafe does have a partnership with the theater for a specially priced meal for 2, however we decided on lighter fare & didn’t take advantage of this.
Love the bathtub salad bar.
Highly recommend. Would love to try their brunch if we’re ever in the area
Easy, early meet up place with yummy house wine @happy hour prices! Specials were amazing! Wish I could have eaten several. Oysters were really perfect for this VA girl. Thanks for a great birthday celebration night!
Love this place! Sunday brunch buffet never disappoints and their chicken and waffles are delicious!
Good little brunch spot. The Bloody Mary was good and the food was great!
We went as a group of friends. The waitress was patient with us and the food was excellent.
Had a great pot pie and some tasty beers to celebrate my brothers birthday.
The service was extremely slow. There’s no reason if you’re eating at the brunch buffet that you have to wait 30 minutes for your check to be dropped. The food is decent but in a city where brunch options are many, there are better options.
My friend and I came for brunch on a Sunday morning. The mimosa pitcher was good and was typical pricing, but nothing spectacular. I got the crab and cheese quiche, which was just okay. I think it needed some crunch to break up the gooey consistency. The potatoes were underdone and under seasoned. No issues with service; we were seated quickly and our server was prompt. Noise level was fine, but I think we got there right at opening. It was worth visiting once, but probably won’t be a repeat. There’s too many really good brunch options in the area to settle for “just okay.”
I really wanted to like this place. I had the steak salad and it was salty and no tomatoes. My son had the chicken sandwich and was also underwhelmed. My son’s friend who is attending VCU, had the onion soup and tuna dish and also mentioned he would not be returning.
I am not from Richmond so went by the reviews that appeared favorable. I won’t be returning.
Salad bar is unique and plentiful and the atmosphere is quiet.
Do not provide vegan and vegetarian option for some side/condiment items.
We went for brunch. It was really loud and busy. The server wasn't very attentive and it took a bit to get our drinks (we saw the drinks at the bar waiting to be picked up so it wasn't the bars fault). We ordered from the menu but the buffet did look appetizing. I wouldn't recommend the potatoes but the fried green tomatoes Benedict was delicious.
All was very good we thought enjoyed we recommend to others and would come back again
Unique and pleasant place to time whether lunch or dinner.
Before an evening at the Museum
Excellent service. Tasty food. Menu is a bit limited but what is offered is very good!
We went for brunch and were unimpressed. Acoustics make the room incredibly noisy, and the decor is a mix of art nouveau elements and 1980s walls which was a strange mix. Our server was pleasant but extremely busy which may have been why our French toast platter and burger and fries were room temperature. More importantly, they were merely okay in flavor and I’m afraid in an amazing restaurant town like Richmond, that’s not going to cut it. I don’t think we will be returning.
My fiancee and I went here for brunch. Delicious! He had the buffet, which he could not get enough of! I had the french toast with sausage and grits. We went shortly after they opened on a Sunday, so there were not many people in yet. So it was nice and quiet for us. We will definitely be back here for future brunches!
Just a unique, comfortable, and wonderful place to dine.
Always a fun place to eat with some classic southern food.
Very nice location. A bit pricey for the quality. Salad bar not offered as an optional alternative as a side is silly. Salad bar was fantastic however that tipped the cost to overpriced.
Strawberry Street Cafe has always been a favorite place for eating out! The service is great, and the food is delicious!
