This place had the best food of the weekend. The pizza for breakfast was 10stars! And the Benedict is awesome. Great service. Only thing is the mimosa is overpriced 12$ a glass :/ A little to pricey. But other than that everything was awesome!
Beautiful, classy Tuscany style restaurant. Great menu selections, but the wait staff didn’t have a clue. For instance, my Shrimp and cheese grits were delivered with only a fork and knife to eat with. The waitress didn’t ask if we needed anything else, just left. She didn’t come back for 15 minutes and my Cheese grits with shrimp were cold. Booo. Not what I would expect from such a beautiful restaurant.
Always a great dining experience.
Overall the food and service at Stout's is not bad, just not worth 5 stars. I realize this is a wine based restaurant, but I don't understand why there has to be two separate transactions to pay for a meal (e.g. paying for the food, and then paying for the wine). Also, I really wish they would warm the plates before putting food on them. Since they don't do that, the food get cold way before you are done with it.
Our meal was delicious however it was cooled off upon eating it. We were eating outside and there were no heaters on. The wine was delicious and we will be back. A hot plate on a cold day would help!
Brought friend from out of state. Service was an embarrassment. Hostess was confused by Open table reservation and disregarded details then dismissed altogether as a no show when we we arrived 5-10 mins late. I believe Open table members are allowed 15 minute to arrive. Ruined the dining experience for us all. We will be taking a break from our frequent visitation to Grape Creek and find a new place.
Pretty setting but food and wine are average at best.
The food was wonderful...the service great! Brought friends from CO who raved about the experience...
It was a very good dining experience. The food and service were both wonderful. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and helped us choose just the right wine from the Grape Creek options.
Great experience as usual!
Found the place really snobby because I had my kids with me and were dressed in hiking clothes. They gave preferred seating to couples. Hostess took a while to get our orders
Everything was great but the meal took 50 minutes from the time of ordering.
First restaurant I've ever been to where the hostess tells us we have an hour and a half to eat because the tables are booked throughout the day. Never eaten at a place this expensive that asks you be out the door in a specific time; it was extremely offputting and really put a damper on our birthday celebration. Will not be returning.
Food was amazing! Service was outstanding!
Our favourite pizza in the Hill Country!
We have been to Stouts several times when we go to pick up our wine. I have taken about 20 of my friends there at different times and they all loved it. I usually will start with alvacado toast and they loved that. Also the mushroom soup is excellent. I will continue getting wine there and enjoying the lunch.
Excellent experience from the service, food, experience. The steak and Tuna were outstanding
Although most of the categories I've chosen as Very Good, I was a bit disappointed by this experience. I'd recommend this place with hesitation. They apparently over-booked the restaurant that evening & we were forced to eat outside. To top it off, they don't have the biggest menu, but they were out of several items already... even though our reservation was for 7pm. Again... disappointing. Our server was great, though. He got the chef to agree to create a Caprese Salad from the cherry tomatoes they had for another dish to replace the heirloom tomatoes the chef normally requires (because they were out) & it was yummy. There are other key appetizers we weren't able to try because they were out (or the chef pulled them from the menu for not having all the ingredients... like the Caprese Salad). The restaurant ended up marking us as no-shows on our Open Table reservation. This added to the irritation, as no only does that affect Open Table booking point, but more importantly, I was unable to review the restaurant. I feel as though this was done on purpose since they knew I wasn't happy about how the night had gone. Look... the food is good. The tenderloin was cooked perfectly medium-rare & the accompaniments were excellent! The Lobster Mac & Cheese was wonderfully done, as well. I wish the logistics & menu planning were better such that I didn't need to contend with those issues. I feel like they could be deserving of a higher rating if they get their act together & treat all their guests with equal importance. Unfortunately, I guess you gotta keep early bird hours to have a full menu available to you & get seated inside. Don't know if I'll take the chance on this place again on future visits to the area, though. Wishing it was a better first impression.
It took forever to get our food, and the reason given was the that there was only one chef in the kitchen. A long delay in getting our meal wasn’t the only issue though, the waiter was not very attentive to our table at all.
We love this winery and restaurant. We have dined here for breakfast and lunch. The food and wine are excellent except on this night. It appeared they were understaffed in the kitchen which was odd considering it was the week before Christmas. As far as we could see there was only one person in the kitchen cooking. It took a long time for everyone including us to get our food. When it finally came out it was cold. The waitress and wine servant were very apologetic.
Always a good experience.
Absolutely loved our dinner experience! It was a very quiet and intimate evening. The staff were all very knowledgeable and attentive. The food was amazing! Delicious beyond our expectations. Will definitely eat here again next time in Fredericksburg
Everything was great !! Service, atmosphere, food. Had a nice evening with friends.
There weren’t any prices on the menu, which normally we don’t mind. But to get a bill for a small pizza for $32 WOW.
Meh, have had better. Good wine, decent food, decent service. Not a place I would recommend with other great options in the area. The Grape Creek Winery wasn’t really recommended by anyone we met on our weekend and kind of see why.
We were very rushed thru our meal and our main course came out 5 mins after our salad had been brought to the table.
The food was good, but way over spiced (heat).
Great place for anniversary dinner. We come from Houston every year
First time to dine there... wanted to try as have reservations in December for 12 ladies who have never been there..
Loved it & very pleased. Looking forward to returning soon!!!
Service seems to be hit and miss. We had to wait too long before anyone came to out table to ask for our wine order. The turkey sandwich was ordered without bacon but came with it, so it had to be re-done. The Margarette pizza crust was doughy. For these prices, even with our discount we question whether we will be back.
We had our wedding anniversary brunch and ordered Crab Benedict and Fried Chicken Benedict. Both entrees were generous servings and were served hot. Our only criticism was the english muffins were very crisp and difficult to cut with the table knife. We had the Rendezvous red wine with our meal as recommended by the wine steward. It was the perfect wine to have with either of these entrees. We look forward to coming back to this restaurant for lunch or dinner.
Both mine and my friend's meals were overcooked. I appreciated the unique menu items and great wine knowledge. Beautiful setting and very funny, amicable host. It was difficult booking and communicating with the restaurant.
The Filet Steak and Eggs, which is new on the menu is OUTSTANDING!
Cooked perfect (rare) and the presentation was beautiful.
Most everything was very nice with the exception of the risotto all’s zucchini e tonno. Delicious but for the seared tuna being excessively salty. Way overpowering the rest of the great plate. Hopefully they correct this in the future.
Was a little noisy as we had a large group sitting beside us but all else was great especially the Serendipity.
The food and service were amazing! The Sunday Brunch is definitely worth trying out!
Beautiful setting, great food and service. My favorite vineyard in Fredricksburg
We enjoyed our meal, but thought the food was overpriced for what it is. Even with our Grape Creek member discount it was pricy.
We had the pleasure of having both Tiffany and Morgan provide the food and wine service and as always they were gracious, courteous, and extremely knowledgeable.
