Burger night!!! Yea!!! We will be back!
Great first visit, delicious appetizers and rhum cocktails!
. Food and service were excellent.
Tables were spaced six feet apart and all employees were masked. However, the venue was filled with families with very noisy adolescent children..the atmosphere felt more like Chuckie Cheese than a restaurant/pub where the dinner check exceeded $50 per person. It was nearly impossible to hold a conversation.
The pork belly and waffles was over the top delish!
Excellent all around
The tempura cauliflower app, bib salad and pork chop (we split for our entree)- all absolutely delicious. The nettle Mac n cheese was good bc of the brown butter but I couldn’t taste the nettle. Ambiance was great, good music not too loud. My husband did a rum flight which he really enjoyed. Server was polite but curt. There was a pretty long wait bn our appetizers and the pork chop which she didn’t acknowledge, which felt a little weird. All in all, a great experience. A little more engagement from the server would have made it five starts all around.
A fun place! We had some really good bar drinks and then started with crab cakes and fried cauliflower. Both dishes had yummy aiolis and we cleaned the plates. For some reason, we all ordered fish and chips. That's weird, but everyone was happy with their entree. We had one mac and cheese side to try. I'd pass on that next time- it was bland. The fries come with light (sweet) vinegar on them, and, although I don't usually put vinegar on fries, these were tasty! Unfortunately, they ran out of the donut bread pudding (which was weird because it was only 6:30), but I guess they had a run on it earlier? The other desserts didn't get us excited, so we walked to a chocolate shop for our sugar fix. It got noisier as the meal progressed - we were at the point of almost having to shout at the end. So if you like to dine and converse in relative quiet...go early. We'll go back again, but not on a weekend after 7. We're too old for rowdy! Lol!
This was our first time to Storm Rhum Bar & Bistro. The service and food was very good. We will definitely come back when in Asheville.
Excellent service and atmosphere. Food was of high quality..Thanks!
The food was very good! Wait staff did a great job. The place was a little noisy, but to be expected for a bar/pub. Would definitely go back. The Rhum drinks were great!
The quail and grits were excellent.
Pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes of the small plates - the tacos were loaded with pork! Duck nachos and gator ribs were delicious, as were the cocktails we ordered (a Devil's Oasis #3 and a Mai Tai).
Excellent safety protocols...and food/drinks too!
Excellent cocktails (Oasis), phenomenal food. Crab cakes were delicious and fresh, and dinner was unique and flavorful. Very friendly and knowledgeable about all the menu items and drinks.
Picked this restaurant based on reviews and we weren’t disappointed. Place is super cool with knowledgeable staff. Menu was interesting and the food was not only delicious, but also beautifully presented.
Kitchen was very slow at getting our food to us.
What a great meal! Our service was excellent! Highly recommend the Duck Hash and steak!!!
The food was incredible! Get the cauliflower.
Great new menu. Drinks mixed to perfection. The trout was awesome. Wait staff is always friendly and attentive.
Best meal we've ever had here and drinks were fabulous too. Especially loved the pork chop, trout and burger. Waiter was excellent.
Great food, wonderful service and awesome 80’s music!
Great experience. Comfortable environment. Great service and food. Recommend as local fav. Great alligator and waffle entree, along w beer cheese fries!
The food was great as always, the service was awful. Easily the worst we’ve ever had there. She seemed distracted and as a result inattentive the entire meal from drink order to appetizer order to main course. It should not take ten minutes to get a beer, people beside us were getting there’s in a timely fashion. A server should always check on a table after the main course is delivered. I am hoping that she was just new and gets the hang of it. This is our favorite restaurant in Asheville.
The waitress was super friendly and engaging. The food was fantastic!
The food was okay, but the service was awful. They weren’t attentive or respectful at all. They would not let us use the restroom prior to us being seated.
Storm is such a great restaurant with a true Asheville NC vibe. Its casual, yet with upscale menu selections and amazing rum and craft cocktails. The appetizer mac n cheese is awesome. And there is always a great variety of entrees on the ever changing menu that feature a steak, seafood, pork, duck, chicken, a burger and other unique items. I cannot wait to return. Reservations are recommended since Storm is vastly popular.
Ate here the night before our wedding and came back at our year anniversary. We plan to return every anniversary! The food was incredible and the service made us feel like we were just like if we were family.
I CANNOT recommend this place enough! We went for a wedding anniversary dinner and from the jump everything was amazing! The vibe of the restaurant and the music were great; the servers are educated on all aspects from the food to drinks. The food was to die for! We got the cheese plate and pork belly fries to start out and the pork belly was AMAZING! Their menu changes often which makes it a great place to go often because you’ll always get something new. The gator and waffle is a must, the flavor of the batter and the gravy on it was delicious and we also got curry shrimp and grits and every bite was better than the first. If they have the lemon blonde get it so good! I cannot remember what our servers name was but he was amazing! Always had our drinks full. I would easily vote this 100/10 spot and a must in Asheville
Had high expectations for this place. Food was average we ordered the Ar
A casual, fun place, just off Asheville's main trek. Appreciated is the limited but very good menu (everything fresh) and excellent service. Also appreciated is the easy parking situation. Go and enjoy, Asheville.
Absolutely delicious in every way. A bit pricey but worth every cent. We will go back for sure!!!
All in all it was a very good experience… I would just say that our waitress was exceptional however the bartender was and personable and one would say rude
Initially walking in, it looked like a nice place. The lighting wasn't too harsh and it had a nice, modern feel. The issue with our visit was our server barely checking on us only a few times, and it's only because we had to ask someone else to get her. It was Valentine's Day but there weren't many people at the restaurant so it was weird that we could barely get a hold of her. She said she was new to the job so we tried to give her some grace. When we asked about the drinks (just asking about the liquor inside) she ran away to ask the bartender and then walked back with drinks that we only asked about and had not ordered. After setting the drinks down, she almost ran away again but my boyfriend had to almost yell at her to stop rushing off because we wanted to order. We don't like being rude customers but we were barely served the first twenty minutes of sitting down and she seemed to not care about us at all. I don't even remember her giving us her name. Anyway, I asked about the breakfast sandwich to see if she could describe it a bit more to me since the description was basic. I then ordered the bread pudding french toast because the sandwich was just not what I was craving at the moment. My boyfriend ordered the steak and eggs, and asked for the steak to be cooked medium-rare. It took over 20 minutes for our food to come out and it was wrong when it did. I was given the breakfast sandwich when I asked for the bread pudding and my boyfriend had a steak that was well done. The chefs tried to tell us that it was the marinade that made the steak darker than what we were used to, but I know a medium-rare steak shouldn't feel like chewing leather or take several tries to cut through it with a steak knife.
Our server wasn't great and the food wasn't great. The second waitress that came to try to resolve things was very caring and the bartender made great drinks. I wish things had gone better and that the food was better. I hope they improve!
Storm Rhum was a great experience, very glad we went! The drinks & food were so good! Giving 4 stars because service was slow - but still very good & attentive. I’m afraid the slow service is just the nature of the beast with covid & all. Would definitely recommend this place to everyone!
Awesome at the bar, Hailey and Emily got us the seats we wanted. Food is ready good and such a great value. We liked it so much that we went back for brunch on Sunday Valentine's day
Always a delightful meal and the service is top notch!
First time we've been back since ownership changed and we didn't realize the menu was shortened because it was "Peruvian night." The drinks were good and my scallop appetizer was deliciously spicy. However, two of us ordered the burgers because they were prepared with local, organic beef. Unfortunately, although ordered medium rare, they were soooo dry we could barely swallow them and the skimpy slice of cheese was disappointing. The fries, ordered extra crispy, were well seasoned and tasty. My vegetarian friend ordered the salad and asked for a slice of bread but was told she'd have to pay. No idea what they charged but it was a plateful of slices. Someone else had fish and said it was very good. Only 1 had an appetizer but that really delayed the main courses a bit too long. They take reservations which is a plus and even better, they have free parking!
I am always impressed with the kitchen at Storm. While the menu selection is limited, everyone at our table ordered something different....and it was all really good. I like trying the different rums...what a variety. We also enjoyed very good service. Go and enjoy this unique Asheville establishment.
Their plates were exceptionally beautiful in the way the food was presented and garnished. My scallops and my husband’s fish were excellent. I found the pickled item (some sort of ground cherry) and the sauce (charred blueberry?) a bit strange, so hopefully the chef will be tweaking the flavors of what was a truly beautiful plate. My hubby didn’t comment on his accompaniments and ate them all, so they might have been fine.
