Food amazing....try the Pork Loin
Very loud inside....group of boys almost ruined our evening dining there with their bad language and loudness.. with that being said it's a wonderful restaurant
Absolutely a wonderful meal! This is a fantastic find and one that we will go to often. Everything was delicious and curated with local ingredients. Service and atmosphere were terrific too!
This place never disappoints! Jay does an amazing job of keeping the menu fresh and exciting. I always look forward to my next time because it’s always a new adventure for my taste buds.
My pork loin was great, my husbands burger was just ok. The watermelon salad was delish! It was very loud inside
We were In Asheville for the weekend and wanted to try something new and different so we decided to dine at Storm and boy were were sure glad we did. We had a awesome waitress. The service was excellent. The food was also excellent! Great selection of rums from all over the world. We had the pickled vegetable and fruit plate, a cheese plate and for our main we had the shrimp and grits on a waffle.
Two couples are Sunday evening at 6:00pm. The restaurant has a parking area across the street. Two had the halibut which was delicious and accompanied by asparagus, fingerling potatoes, and burata cheese. There was also the pok pok meatballs and cheese plate. Everything was delicious. The Mac and cheese could use a redo-it was like a Kraft Mac n cheese box even with the addition of chorizo snd tomato. Would definitely recommend the food!
The table on the patio off to the side was so nice! Our waiter, Jim was spectacular and the entrées that we had were incredible!
A great variety of food to choose from, very well put together dishes. The server was easy going and attentive. The Painkiller cocktails are great. I will definitely be back to this comfortably Asheville restaurant and try the Rum Flights.
My husband and I had a wonderful experience dining at Storm Rhum. We had the chorizo Mac and cheese and pork nachos to start. Then I had the smash burger and he had the pork loin. Every dish was absolutely delicious. Our waitress was great. If we lived locally, we would definitely be regulars! Definitely eat here if you are in Asheville.
A little loud but great food. Would suggest eating outside weather permitting
Watermelon Salad and cocktails were. Fantastic. Better than average shrimp and grits w/waffle!
the meatballs was amazing !!!!! server was very helpful
Nice find. Food was good, even had aegan option for hubby.
Great relaxed dinner with friends.
This is first and foremost a Rum bar but the food and service were GREAT. We had the pickle plate, the Halibut, and a Smash burger...all amazing. A little noisy when full. Great decor inside and nice outdoor seating area. BEST RUM selection I have ever seen and the rum flights make it easy to try new stuff. So glad we found this place.
Just got a couple appetizers They were ok just very rich
Glad we made a reservation because it was very busy, Food was excellent, 2 of us had the Halibut, and 2 had the smash burgers. love the atmosphere, Service was a little slow, but typicle post pandemic. We're looking forward to our next dinner here, a sure Asheville top tier spot!
Food is weird. Not everything needs an unexpected ingredient - nettles in the mac and cheese, turmeric on the watermelon, and what is 'maple-birds eye chili pears'?
However, this is a fabulous place to get a drink. Not only an extensive selection of rums, but an education about the history of rum (if you are interested), friendly bartenders, great atmosphere. But eat somewhere else.
Tacos and pancakes were awesome! The bourbon maple syrup is to die for. Will visit again for sure.
We had a great time celebrating a birthday. Thank you to the staff!
Storm’s brunch was amazing. We’ll definitely be back
Had a delicious brunch on Saturday. The waitress was accommodating to our party and we had the best brunch. I had the breakfast sando. Two members of the group had the smash burger. They both said it was the best hamburger they’ve had in awhile. Always a great meal at Storm Rhum Bar!
Service was great and it's a cool place, but food is eh. There wasn't much flavor to any of it, it was just okay, and the fries were drowning in vinegar. They were accommodating for food allergies though which was appreciated!
The food was good but we expected a bit better for the price. My NY strip was $33 and half of it stayed at the restaurant because it was chewy. The drinks were overpriced but taste delicious. Our waiter was very pleasant and very attentive. We would like to come back when they have gator tail.
We were visiting Asheville over Memorial Day and had the
Most excellent food! We also did the storm rum flight.
Our service was prompt and we had nice outdoor seating.
I cannot wait to come back!
We were on vacation. This place was outstanding. The pickles vegetable, as an appetizer, was remarkable.
Fries with the fish and chips were way too salty, and mushy. The fish and the peas were good.
The waitress was not knowledgeable with the ingredients of the various dishes
The food was incredible! It took us a while to decide what to order because everything sounded so good. The drinks we had were superb. Can’t wait to come back!
Service was exceptional!!
This was our first time back to storm rhum since Covid. Their menu has dramatically changed. I can understand why since the neighborhood is full of young people. Whereas we used to go there for relatively fine dining, now it’s mostly snacks like quesadillas and tacos and burgers. They did have shrimp and grits and pork but not much else. We won’t be going back. They probably will continue to cater to young people which we are not. Be sure to read the menu before you go to be sure that’s what you want to eat.
Hey! Well first sorry you seemed to hate all the changes? Storm was purchased the October before covid and has been changing the menu ever couple of weeks. Its not neccesarily geared towards "young people" just more modern and with the times. We do hope you still at least enjoyed your food, but a couple of things. We dont even have a quesadilla on our menu (outside of the kinds menu). As well for entrees we have a NY Strip, Kampachi (fish), a vegan stew, as well as fish & chips.
We were visiting Asheville and had asked a variety of people for recommendations. None of them mentioned Storm but we saw good reviews online and are SO happy we did! We live in DC and like eating out - but seriously, the food here had SO much taste. We had the pickled beet gazpacho - a revelation of taste sensation, superbly balanced. Actually that also describes the Bibb salad (sounds so unpretentious but was killer!), the duck nachos, and the clams with red curry.
And let's not forget the cocktails - Devil's Oasis No. 3 was phenomenal. Strong tastes, again perfectly balanced. The shade of brown was a teensy bit off-putting but literally only until this remarkable sweet and spicy nectar hit the tongue.
Wow!!! we are so happy you enjoyed and found us!!! We def hope to see you again sometime! Cheers Storm
It took a while for the food to come out, and there wasn't many people there, the portions we small and a bit overpriced. This place had 0 wow factor. The waitress took for ever too. They did give lots of crayons to keep the kids busy.
Burger night!!! Yea!!! We will be back!
Great first visit, delicious appetizers and rhum cocktails!
. Food and service were excellent.
Tables were spaced six feet apart and all employees were masked. However, the venue was filled with families with very noisy adolescent children..the atmosphere felt more like Chuckie Cheese than a restaurant/pub where the dinner check exceeded $50 per person. It was nearly impossible to hold a conversation.
We are so glad you enjoyed the food!! We do provide a space people can feel comfortable bringing their families though, as the owner has a small child and wants people to feel they can have an nice dinner but not have to leave their kids. It really depends on the time of day you come in though, Later at night its more of an "Adult" crowd, Then our late night is more "service industry"
The pork belly and waffles was over the top delish!
THANKS!! so glad you enjoyed!!
Excellent all around
