Always a delightful meal and the service is top notch!
First time we've been back since ownership changed and we didn't realize the menu was shortened because it was "Peruvian night." The drinks were good and my scallop appetizer was deliciously spicy. However, two of us ordered the burgers because they were prepared with local, organic beef. Unfortunately, although ordered medium rare, they were soooo dry we could barely swallow them and the skimpy slice of cheese was disappointing. The fries, ordered extra crispy, were well seasoned and tasty. My vegetarian friend ordered the salad and asked for a slice of bread but was told she'd have to pay. No idea what they charged but it was a plateful of slices. Someone else had fish and said it was very good. Only 1 had an appetizer but that really delayed the main courses a bit too long. They take reservations which is a plus and even better, they have free parking!
I am always impressed with the kitchen at Storm. While the menu selection is limited, everyone at our table ordered something different....and it was all really good. I like trying the different rums...what a variety. We also enjoyed very good service. Go and enjoy this unique Asheville establishment.
Their plates were exceptionally beautiful in the way the food was presented and garnished. My scallops and my husband’s fish were excellent. I found the pickled item (some sort of ground cherry) and the sauce (charred blueberry?) a bit strange, so hopefully the chef will be tweaking the flavors of what was a truly beautiful plate. My hubby didn’t comment on his accompaniments and ate them all, so they might have been fine.
Tyler was our server, he was great! The pork chop was very good. I've also had the gator tail and grits and loved it!
Great service! Nice atmosphere. Fried okra and the Mac and cheese were delicious!
Good food; service was excellent. We had the green curry mussels, short ribs, and cheddar wurst. Each dish was prepared perfectly and very tasty.
Food was excellent. Had the duck and my guest had the black sea bass. Both tasted yummy! The wait staff was attentive and gave very good descriptions. Very cozy place.
We ate here a few months ago and the food was good, but this time it was excellent!!! The new owner/chef has added some unique dishes. The seasonings are very tasty. Our server was perfect.
The food was good but not great and we (my husband and I) thought it was a bit overpriced. Service was a bit slow, our waitress was not that great.
Had an amazing time with my wife and daughter on Valentine’s Day. The Chef and staff took great care of us and made us feel special. We will be back!
The place was empty, that should have been our first clue. The waiter was engaging until we received our food then he never asked how it was or if we needed anything. I think he knew what the response was going to be. The scallops were cooked correctly but so spicy that I couldn’t finish eating them because my lips were burning. And the tamarind ribs that were touted as so moist the would fall off the bone were so dry you couldn’t chew them off the bone. With so many other choices in Asheville this place needs to step up their game all the way around.
The food was really good and the portions were accurate. Our waitress forgot to put our order in and also lost our debit cards for about 15 minutes. She misplaced them at the bar. Overall the experience was good.
We started out with the artisanal cheese plate and fried okra. The okra was piled high on the plate; so much food for the price. The artisanal cheese plate was delicious. For the main course, we got the Tilefish and the Pork chop. The pork chop was the best I have ever eaten. Juicy, fresh, crispy on the outside. I would go back again just for that dish.
This place has ambiance and high quality, well prepared food. Highly recommend!
Great changes in menu with new chef/owner. Others obviously agree, as the place was jammed on a Saturday night. Storm is pure Asheville in vibe and presentation of seriously great food and drink in a casual, welcoming way. We love this place.
Our server Tyler or Taylor (sorry) was outstanding. Great wine and Rum suggestions and the food as always was very good.
Awesome restaurant. Very romantic and cozy environment. Unique and delicious menu offerings with a friendly wait staff.
The NYE dining experience was awesome. Very nice ambiance, food and drink was phenomenal!
Hostess was very friendly. Seated promptly at our requested table she had reserved. Took a long time for waitress to come to our table finally had to ask the bartender. Burgers were very good. Wish had a different White House wine as an option to this pairing not a fan of Chardonnay or beer. Our waitress was efficient but needs to act like she likes her job. Bartenders are always friendly and welcoming. We love the atmosphere but probably will sit at bar next time.
My partner's duck breast was very good but my snapper was overcooked.
Emma, our waitress was great! Very knowledgeable and sweet! Next time I’m in Asheville, NC I will definitely be back to this restaurant.
We’ve been to Storm Rhum a number of times and really enjoyed it, but this time was different. The food was excellent, as usual, but our service experience was the worst anywhere in recent memory. Our server, Tyler, clearly did not want to be there. Never smiled, gave curt answers, bordered on rude. For example, when we asked about the red blend wine, his response was an accusatory, “It’s a red blend, the cheapest wine on the menu.” When we asked about bread, we got a quick, unfriendly “No”. When we asked for coffee, he told us they only had coffee service for six. Incredible. Luckily, the food was great, which kept Tyler from totally ruining our evening.
terrific kitchen, had four items and each was way above average; staff is very good
We really enjoyed the restaurant. The service was great! And the food very good and interesting!’
Good and service was excellent
food and service was very good. Nice and relaxing meal and then had a very good desert.
Great food great service great ambience! Loved it
We waited over 20 mins for someone to wait on us after we were seated. We finally had to flag someone down-the table next to us had the same issue. The food was mostly forgettable and two of us had to reorder because the chef had removed the items from the menu mid-dinner service. Waitress never offered to get us drinks. Would definitely NOT eat here again.
A number of mouth watering options The pork chop was fantastic. Our server was personable and knowledgable about the offerings
Good food. Good service. Good drinks.
Food was fantastic. Service was slow though
Great pimento cheese dip! Service was excellent. Drinks were top notch
Great wait staff. Get the Devil's Oasis. So many levels.
We return here year after year when we visit Asheville! Great time and food. Only recommendation is that you have fall/winter menu & cocktails out by now.
Food, choices, service all excellent! Great location !
Always a fantastic dining experience at Storm Rhum Bar. We come in Everytime we are in Asheville!
My first time here. Our waiter was great and down to earth. Atmosphere was pleasant. The seared scallops were wonderful as well as the cheese plate. I like how some flights are all ready put together but the rum to choose from is amazing. I only wish the names of the shots were labeled a little better, not just scribbled on paper. It was Saturday night so it was crowded and very noisy. Overall I would go back. Enjoyed it very much
Cool spot for ambiance, but that is where it ends. Had the halibut tonight and it was extremely salty and overpowered the fish. Had fried ricotta for an app and the presentation was great, but tasted like a hush p,not ricotta! My husband had the ribeye. The kale was again salty and the side potato was charred on the base. The desserts were good on the plus side again along with the atmosphere. Service was disappointing! Will not be coming back.
