Sonya Cote, the James Beard Foundation WEL alum and Texas chef known for Eden East, now adds Store House Market & Eatery in downtown Bastrop to her portfolio. A proponent for local purveyors and a pioneer of using locally-grown ingredients for both nutritional and environmental purposes, Cote transformed a nearly 175-year-old, historic two-building property at the corner of Main and Pine into a seasonally-driven restaurant and market that will showcase the local area’s bounty. The a la carte menu features rotating mains and sides, using ingredients sourced from Eden East Farm and other Bastrop producers.

We like the patio and restaurant but the service was understaffed today at Sunday brunch — they didn’t refill coffee when we needed it, and service was generally slow. Food wise they didn’t have sausage that was supposed to be available with the entree my husband ordered. We were there about an hour and a half after the restaurant opened. Value wise we paid $82 for two people for brunch in Bastrop - that’s too much, too excessive for what we had. My scrambled eggs portion wasn’t that big for the price, and my hash potatoes were overly salty although I asked specifically about the salt in the hash potatoes because of my diet restrictions. Also when I made the reservation online I was asked if we were celebrating a special occasion and I indicated it was my birthday in two places. There was no acknowledgement by the hostess or server of the special occasion. I mentioned to a male manager who stopped by our table as we were leaving that it was my birthday and he did offer some champagne which was nice, but at that point we were already leaving so I declined. Overall we liked the restaurant but the service and food were lacking and the prices were too high.

What a surprise to have a dining experience like this in Bastrop. This farm-to-table restaurant is amazing! We had a wonderful dinner. Every dish was fresh and flavorful. The service was perfect - attentive without being intrusive. I would definitely return!

Second visit to The StoreHouse and if and when we visit Bastrop again we will return for another great meal. Our server, Erica, was outstanding; available when we needed her but never hovering. The night’s special was really good and was enjoyed by 2 of the 4 in our party. The other 2 in our party had the rib eye cooked to their perfection. Kudos to the chef! Thank you Store House for a perfect meal!!

We always love our visits to Store House! Friendly staff and great atmosphere! Amazing farm to table food and love that their menu changes. Every meal we've had has such a variety of flavors. Our go to date night spot 💖

We were there for brunch to celebrate my brother-in-law's 88th birthday. I think everybody enjoyed their meals and the service as well.

Excellent Food. Red Fish perfect. Salads fresh and loved local ingredients. Wine selection impressive. Attentive staff.Only negative , small space with too many people, large group made it even worse. Would still go back every time in the area.

My husband and I have been excited about trying your restaurant. We both love supporting our local eateries and love a great steak. We both ordered the ribeye and shared a bottle of wine. Both of our steaks were tough and contained lots of gristle. They were also not seasoned well. The veggie mash was the best part. That was a lot of money spent on steaks that we couldn’t even eat half of. We can’t justify returning to spend $170 on a dinner that we couldn’t eat.
