The quality of food and service is always consistently good. The new menu format is not as easy to read as previous version, but the experience was still very good.
The service was really good. The server was very knowledgeable of specials and helpful. He was very timely with checking on us (which he did multiple times).
The food was a reasonable price, accurate to our order and very good quality.
It was a Friday night dinner at 6:30, so the restaurant was full. Even then, we had no issue with holding a conversation at a normal volume or overhearing others’ conversations.
It was an overall enjoyable experience.
Horrible. Audaciously overpriced, tasteless food. This is a wannabe fine restaurant that actually presents like a Denny's. The "special" was (not very fresh) fried grouper on a bed of watery rice for $37. Another special was a measly overcooked pork chop for $28. You would get much better quality at a BJ's, Cheddars, or Outback for half the price. Not a single person at our table enjoyed their dinner. It was that bad. So disappointed, and when that $180 bill arrived, I felt double stabbed. This place is simply awful.
Stonewood has been on our restaurant rotation list for years. A couple of years ago a management change was made, however a new manager was not installed until three months later. Food quality and service quality suffered. When asked to review our dining experience on Open Table i was quite critical of the chain owner's decision making and we essentially stopped dining at Stonewood. Over the last six months or so we have dined there about once a month. The consensus of our group is that the Stonewood we knew is back!! Management is very visible as is the chef and the food and service quality are both very good once again.
We love eating there when we are in Tampa. My favorite is the short ribs and squash ravioli. Hummmm.
My husband had the ginger lime salmon and he said it was outstanding.
Great place for good meals (great chef!) and upscale atmosphere without the pricey menu that usually goes along with it.
The atmosphere is very nice. Great for meeting friends and being able to have a conversation without loud music, etc. The service was excellent as was the meal. Will definitely return.
Hostess disappeared and left everyone standing at the front door for 10 minutes. After being seated, everything was good. I would not consider anything about the restaurant as special. Food was ok, except for the potatoes being over cooked.
Akil was absolutely awesome. Delighted customers with his professionalism and personality.
Every dish was a treat. Choices were excellent.
The portions were very generous, so unfortunately, I over-ate and had to pass on my favorite dessert (the chocolate bread pudding) - shameful.
I suppose I'll just have to visit again to fix that problem!!
Everything was very good like we have heard from family and friends. Tommy our server was on point.
Everything was great except me! I was suffering with seasonal allergies and kept having to dry my eyes and. blow my nose. No fault of Stonewood!
Tommy was our server and he did a great job!
Will come for dinner again and if possible, have Tommy as our server!
First time customer. We had a great experience and will definitely return as often as possible. Food was very well presented and very well prepared. Our corner booth was perfect for old friends to enjoy our conversation and company! Highly recommend Stonewood Grill and Tavern in Tampa Palms ...
The food took over 40 minutes it was a really long wait, the steak was very dry even though I asked for it medium - overall it was Ok nothing impressive.
Great food and srvice
Everything was wonderful. We were taking two very special friends to dinner and Kaitlin was very attentive and have us excellent service down to boiling the water for one of our guests tea.
Our 30th engagement anniversary was a hit with a delicious dinner and complimentary dessert. Our waiter, Thomas was pleasant and knowledgeable of the menu and drink selections. The Short Rib is a favorite item. Thanks for a great evening.
Went for our 19th wedding anniversary on Valentine’s Day and ordered their $100 for two special. We both chosen the prime rib entree. Both prime ribs were terrible, couldn’t even cut through the meat from all of the veins, fat and grizzle. Finally found a manager to complain who offered a replacement. By that ztime we were just disappointed and wanted to go home, a totally ruined night ouzo. They did take the entree off the bill and we payed for our bottle of wine and cocktails.
Food was ok but I won’t remember in a couple of days.
Grouper had peppercorns and pepper in batter. Could not eat do to reflux. Server should have told us it was spicy.
The prime rib was not cooked to the right temperature. The other filet was bland no seasoning . by the time the prime rib was done the other person was finished. Had to take the food home. Manager was insincere. Said the right things but you could tell he was being fake. Server was never around. Love this place hated our experience this time! Dave the former manager was great...this guy...NOT SO MUCH!
Somewhat disappointed reservations made for 7 didn't get seated till 8. Sat at the bar had a few drinks service was great at the bar. Every time we needed a drink we received one. However, when we got to the table the waitress kept telling us that the barber is backed up. ? Prime rib lack of something to be desired. Rest of our meals were very good.
This is a wonderful place to dine. They provide excellent service, delicious food and a pleasant atmosphere. Good for all occasions.
The food was over salted even the quinoa & farrow. Tried to blame it on the capers.
If you don’t want to drive into the city and don’t feel like getting on the highway to dine, then this restaurant is wonderful. Good food and centrally located to most New Tampa neighborhoods. It’s a little pricey for what you get, though. Season’s 52, Cooper’s Hawk, and The Columbia, are comparably priced restaurants, in my opinion, that offer a more creative menu for the price, and also have a better ambience. This place is equal to a Longhorn Steakhouse with slightly better ambience and similar food, but with higher prices.
With couple of friends
We always get great service and a wonderful meal...reservations are a must...
Our server, Thomas, was fabulous.
Always a great meal at StoneWood Grill. A good place in the neighborhood to dine with friends and guests!
We miss Dave( former manager)and his way of making everyone feel special and welcomed!
Device was great as usual. The shrimp and scallops was below par, which is abnormal for this restaurant. Hoping it was a fluke or an off night for the chef.
Our waiter TJ was outstanding! Good food s as bd great service.
Neighborhood go to place for a relaxing dinner. great menu, and service. Nice booths, and servers work well together. Fresh salads and a good wine selection. One of the few places that serves pretzel rolls and cranberry muffins.
The service was very good, however, the food was mediocre at best. We ordered the onion soup, which was very tasty , but it sat to long and the cheese was difficult cut. It was lukewarm. Steve had the burger which was good, the fries however were soggy with grease. I had the steak medallions with asparagus and mixed potatoes . The potatoes were very bland , no seasoning at all. The asparagus was good. The steak was tough and chewy. I did enjoy the boursin cheese. It felt like the whole meal was ready too early before it was served. It all tasted and appeared to be lukewarm at best.
Always a great meal
Misled by the a Wedge Salad on the menu. Came to the table with cucumbers. Jason Price offered you remake it but I respectfully declined. Ordered a $32 rib eye that was prepared to expected but arrived to the table no longer super hot. Again, didn’t care to send back. Wife enjoyed her meal with a “French theme” of French Onion Soup and French Dip.
Everything was very good. However, there was a new bartender and delayed our drinks from getting to us in a timely manner and one of our drinks were not made correctly.
The food was very good and the waitress did a great job.
Great place to dine, both Matt and our server Matthew were very attentive. My husband's birthday dinner was a great success.
We always have a nice time at Stonewood Grill. They no longer serve the delicious rolls unless you ask for them, so make sure to ask! My blackened fish sandwich was excellent and everyone else enjoyed their meals.
The food was good! The restaurant was very loud and hot.
Good service, friendly and attentive, very busy but managed very well, no rush and best Calamari on the West Coast of florida. Presentation was very good and prepared just right, hot and tasty. Will return often.
