Outstanding food, service, and ambiance! So glad we tried Redux, will be back soon. The scallops and duck were amazing!
Get in and experience the new Redux!
Same ambience, great service, great value, great food. As far as we can tell, the only thing that’s changed is the chef! Loved the last one but love the new one equally as much! Please go and use this gem of a spot as often as possible!
We were looking forward to trying Redux for our birthday celebration gathering. There were only two other tables occupied in the restaurant while we were there, so we felt that we would have optimal service and attention. Unfortunately, the waiter was also the bartender so spent much of his time behind the bar.
The dishes on the menu sounded delightful, and we were looking forward to them. Two people in our group of nine ordered the sea scallops, one of which came out looking plump and delicious, where as the other came out looking dried and over done like they were from yesterday’s leftovers. Two other members of the party ordered filet medium rare, one was delivered medium well and the other well done and had to be returned. Another member of our party ordered salmon, which came to the table cold, and he didn’t even bother sending it back, instead taking it home to heat up in the microwave for lunch the next day. While the flavors were great and the presentation very nice, all of these problems with the chef led to a poor overall experience. The waiter became less attentive after our issues arose. Unfortunately we will not be going back.
Our party of three had the pleasure of dining here Saturday, March 30. The wine and beer lists were both varied and reasonably priced. We had both beer and wine drinkers and we were happy with the offerings. We had two starters/appetizers: a generous portion of four meatballs and grilled bread and an equally generous charcuterie and cheese platter. The meatballs and sauce had great flavor. The charcuterie and cheese platter had three meats, three cheeses, two breads/crisps, two fruits, a couple olives, honey and spicy mustard. The portions were generous and easily shareable.
Our entrees were delicious. My friend had the salmon. It was a thick piece, perfectly cooked and he raved about it. My husband had the duck breast. I’d read a review about the duck not being cooked to one diner’s liking. They obviously listened and made necessary adjustments because he loved the duck and ate every bite of it and the wild rice it was “perched” on. I had the French onion soup and warm goat cheese salad with creamy herb dressing. The soup had excellent flavor with that depth that’s hard to get. The salad was an interesting combination of flavors. I loved the nuts & golden beets. The fried goat cheese...oh my!!! YUM!!
La Piece de Resistance was the chocolate cake balls on chocolate pudding dessert. It was unlike any dessert I’ve ever had and it was phenomenal.
Greg was our server and he did a great job. He was friendly and attentive without being overbearing.
The Chef came out to each table and asked how our meals were. That is an EXCELLENT thing to do if time permits. It demonstrates that you care what your diners think. I believe it was one of the owners who also came and asked us how we liked our meal. It’s great to have the opportunity to say what you thought about your meal. Please, if you have a compliment or a constructive criticism, tell them. Give them the feedback they need to continue doing what they do or change if they need to. This is a GEM. Give it a try!
In our party of 6, each person loved the food and ambiance. We were able to enjoy conversation easily. Highly recommend.
This is a neighborhood gem! We are so happy that we have a local option that serves delicious, contemporary comfort food in a cool and fun atmosphere. The owners are lovely people who truly care about the customer’s dining experience. This is a must-visit restaurant if you haven’t been already!
What a nice surprise to find a locally owned restaurant, quiet, close to home, a reasonably priced wine list, and with a very nice menu. Service with Greg was great, he was able to answer some questions for us and was willing to 'make' a wine bucket for our wine. Thank you! One of the most pleasing things though was from the kitchen. A light hand with the seasoning - practically unheard of anymore! - no drowning our salad in a super herby dressing, but a hand tossed, lightly dressed, and a delicate use of both spices and herbs. Thank you!
I don't mind spending a good amount for great food or wine. Unfortunately, this place which has now changed it's name to ReDux, is overpriced while under delivering. The ambiance is nice and has a minimalist, clean decor . The service is what you'd find at an after-the-club, wee morning hours, Denny's. The plating is beautiful, but then the first bite of food disappoints. The copious drenching of sauces, reductions, and other ingredients attempt to disguise and mask the okay-quality meats and seafood. An okay place if you want to sit at a nice bar. However, local neighborhood gem, it is not. You're better off heading down the street to old town Noblesville, Clay Terrace, or Hamilton Towne Center eateries that have better food, better service, and better value. Makes you wonder, why the name change?
We have been here many times. Excellent food, great service.
Our first impression was good as we walked in, nice ambiance, comfortable seating, great wine list, friendly waiter, and the menu looked promising. Unfortunately our meals weren't that great. My husband got the filet, which was covered with a cherry reduction. It did not pair well with the steak and my jambalaya was just ok. The longer we stayed the more stuffy it felt, a place for middle aged regulars.
They are no longer called Stompin' Barley. They are now called Redux and prices seem to have approximately doubled. Sat for Dinner service on a Friday night to a completely empty room. When we opened the menu, we joined the rest of society that were all also not in this dining room.
Stompin would be more attractive to us if they would change their menu and price point. It’s a cute place but would be better served if they stopped trying to compete with 5 star restaurants. The value just isn’t there for what you get. The owners are nice but I think need to change their expectations. Adding some more variety for those who don’t feel like dropping $200.
The food was very tasty - seasoned well and cooked just right! The wine selection was great, and the atmosphere was very warm and inviting.
Everything was awesome...food and service. The new chef is amazing an we love the new menu...fantastic!!!
Great food and service.
Excellent food and very nice atmosphere for a business, romantic or occasion with friends.
My husband and I went for New Years Eve dinner. We had their special and it was fantastic. We plan to return and try the regular menu!
My husband and I ate here for New Years Eve. We were greeted at the door with a complementary glass of champagne, which was very nice. They had a pre fixe menu and their regular menu. I had the scallops and my husband had the filet. Both meals were excellent. The service was superb. The owners are very nice, as is the chef. We sat at the bar after dinner and chatted with them and some locals. This is definitely a great neighborhood gem. We will definitely be back more often.
Had seen the restaurant driving by several times and finally came in with my wife to give it a try. The service was outstanding, atmosphere cozy, and food was delicious. I'd highly recommend it for a nice night out.
This place is great! Chose this place for New Year's Eve dinner. Ginnie makes absolutely wonderful food! The waiter was very courteous, prompt, polite, and gorgeous. It was a great, cozy atmosphere. I would definitely go back!
Great service. We went early so it was not busy, but we had reservations. Unbelievably quick service and an excellent wine menu. I had the salmon burger which was great, and my wife had the meatloaf. An excellent take on a dish I make quite often. The mushroom gravy was an excellent addition.
Relatives from out of town. Excellent food, excellent service. Just a great experience.
Convenient location. Atmosphere and service was great. Although the food was good....it lacked flavor or seasoning. They would probably benefit them if they had full bar as well.
Food was good but priced high for the quality. Drinks were very expensive. I should not have order what appeared to be 1/3 glass of wine for $10
Our second visit with two other couples was as enjoyable as the first. Service was superb and the wine recommendations were great. All three couples found the food wonderful and the ambience conducive to a pleasant evening.
Very welcoming and beautifully furnished. Waitstaff were well versed on the menu and had great wine recommendations. Service was gracious and punctual. The menu choices were sufficiently varied for all of our group and all selections were prepared perfectly. We look forward to our next visit.
My husband & I dine out often and this restaurant is one of our favorites! The food is always delicious, the staff is always welcoming & the atmosphere is cozy and sophisticated.
Their new menu offers dishes you won’t find anyplace else. On our most recent visit, my husband ordered the Shrimp & White Bean Cassoulet and found it to be wonderfully rich and flavorful. I ordered the 3 oz. Beef Tenderloin with Cheddar Grits and it was fabulous! The steak was cooked perfectly, the grits were so creamy & delicious and the presentation was very appealing. We shared a wedge salad and took home 2 pieces of Egg Nog Cheesecake...yum!
Bravo to Chef Ginnie for the wonderful new menu and bravo to Dick & Alesia for creating a dining experience that always goes beyond great food and great service!
We love Stompin Barley and were delighted to hear that they are changing the name to Redux soon. Always concerned that the name failed to give the right impression of the sophisticated nature of the place and the food. New chef and new menu proved as good as in the past if not better! If you haven't tried it or haven't found it (hard to spot on the inside of a strip center) YOU SHOULD!!
Fantaststic food and service!
Very much enjoyed our first time dining here. Great menu and overall dining experience!
This restaurant was recommended by a friend. Loved the atmosphere. Service was very good. Food was good. We will definitely recommend & plan to go again.
If you have been here before but haven’t been here for a while they have changed up the menu and it is delicious! If you have never been here give it a try! Definitely a neighborhood gem!
It took over 90 minutes to receive our food. They gave us apple turnover due to the late food, but it was not cooked all the way. Very poor experience.
The entrees were a hit or miss as far as quality and service. The entrees all came out
at separate times and one of the entrees was served 20 minutes after everyone else
received their food. The entree was poorly cooked and had no flavor. Another entree was rushed because
it was served lukewarm. For the price point the food did not compare to quality! Our server was
very helpful and I did not feel the poor food was her fault.
It was a wonderful evening with great food. I suggest the agave margarita.
Welcoming atmosphere, menu was well thought out. All the entrees we ordered were excellent!! Manager and owner thanked us for coming in :). Nice touch 💛
Absolutely love this place. Friendly, quaint and the food is delicious!!!!
We only had apps and drinks this time, but everything was delicious!
Just a great place for a "Friday night date." An ecclectic crowd ... smallish but solid menu. A pretty impressive wine list (wine and beer only).
