We had a separate room with a fireplace for our group of six. Service was outstanding and the food was as well. We go to Stokes when family gathers in Monterey for whatever reason and wish to have a great evening.

We haven’t been in a few months and tried the ribeye and the chicken. Both were excellent. Service was good. also a very festive nice holiday atmosphere. Very good food.

We had the crispy potatoes for an appetizer. For entrees we had Branzino, Australian Wagyu Bavette, and Pappardelle Bolognese. All delicious! The Affogatos were great for after dinner. Rachel, our server, was excellent.

We came for the chicken sandwich pop-up, and it was everything we'd hoped for- excellent juicy fried chicken, a very generous portion, with a nice bun and condiments. Only sad that it is only one Wednesday- we'd like to take visiting guests there.

Rachel our server was attentive and delightful that she brought over complimentary taste of bubbly in honor of our birthday celebration. The crispy potatoes were divine although I would have preferred the sauce being served on the side since it was at the bottom of the bowl and we didn’t realise it was there till we were 3/4 of the way through. The duck confit was a bit dry and flavourless (hence only 4 stars for the food) The kale salad and pasta bolognese were a hit as was the chocolate budino. We appreciated the attention to the spacing of guests as the restaurant started to fill which created a feeling of spaciousness and intimacy. Great evening, Thank you!

Overall a lovely experience, I was most impressed with the bar area and the vibe presented there as well as the patio. If it wasn't so cold I would have loved to have dinner outdoors.

I liked the staff and service. They gave us bubbles on the house for our anniversary. Had a waiting room before reservation. Had an option for inside and outside, staff was nice to show me my options. Would recommend this place!

The noise level in the north room with the windows was unbearable. They moved us to the bar, where the noise level was better but the cold air constantly coming in the entry was unpleasant. The duck confit and the caviar potato were great, but the octopus salad in a Thai style was so hot it would have qualified as extra-hot at a Thai restaurant. We like hot, but this was punishing.

The historic building is very romantic, and we enjoyed the ambiance of this place. The menu is very limited, and expensive, so be prepared for this. Our server, Conor was excellent, and kept an eye on our table well. A couple of suggestions for the management to consider: pace the meal better, we had little time to enjoy our wine before our entrees came, say happy anniversary or happy birthday where a special occasion is mentioned, and, provide pens to the guests to sign the check at the end. The food was good, the pork chop was the hit of the evening, but the steak was served barely warm, so it was not as great. The ad astra bread was delicious, but 8$ for 3 pieces of bread seemed a little expensive to us. Not sure we will return.

Absolutely delicious food! Unfortunately, we had such poor service, we elected to leave before ordering our main courses. We were dining on the patio and it was relatively empty; however our server appeared to actively avoid us. We ordered a specific bottle of rose champagne yet we received a that non rose version from that vineyard. When we questioned him, he insisted that it was the correct rose even when we showed him a picture of what the bottle SHOULD look like. At this point we said it was fine so he unceremoniously plopped the bottle on the table sans an ice bucket and marched off. Naturally it was not chilled by the time that we left. Furthermore he neglected to bring share plates until a half an hour after he served the appetizers thus they were cold by the time we could eat them. In addition, he forget to bring multiple other items. After approximately 1 hour he reluctantly returned to our table to take our main course order which we declined to do and instead requested our bill. We have all worked in the service industry prior to establishing our professional careers and we know how difficult the job is thus we are pretty laidback when dining and try to leave more than he expected tip. It was difficult to even leave a tip last night… did so however so the kitchen staff received something for the excellent food.

Great service from start to finish.. our server was great & helpful. Ambience and aesthetic was perfect for a date night. Upscale while still homey and down-to-earth Plates are absolutely delicious. Very crafted, almost Michelin level curation with fun & creative pairings. Would dine again.

Overall it was an average dining experience; however, semi-disappointing for my birthday dinner. No complimentary dessert or a birthday congratulations from our server, which was somewhat disappointing but it’s not what made the experience average. The food and cocktail cemented the average experience for me. The cocktail “ star map” was overly sweet-it reminded me of a lemon drop. It had a sickly after taste of sugar. The crispy potatoes as a starter were tasty. I ordered the Pappardelle Bolognese for a main course and typically love any pasta dish- even Olive Garden Alfredo! Sadly, this pasta dish was a tad over salty. The patio setting is very pretty and I loved that it was dog friendly. I would recommend this place for a casual weekday dinner but not special occasion or for cocktails. Seems to be more of a pizza and beer/ wine type of spot.

Excellent dining experience, Megan, our Waitperson, made us feel like we were guests in a good friend’s home—a friend who happens to be a chef extraordinaire. The Bolognese and Bavette Steak are the absolute best on the Monterey Peninsula, seriously.

Five people in our group. Loved the room we were seated in! Nice amount of space between tables. Very comfortable. Service by Shane was excellent. He was friendly and professional. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. The caciao Pepe was a little “stodgy,” kinda thick and gummy. 🫤 But everything else was delicious.
