                                                  We had a very nice experience at Stokes Adobe. The service was outstanding. Oscar, was our server. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. And, as always the food was delicious. We came back to have the Sugar Snap Peas before it was taken off the menu for the season. We will return.

                                                  Visited in June 2025 and would happily plan another Monterey weekend around this restaurant. Stokes Adobe delivers inventive food, historic atmosphere, and the best service I have experienced in years, thanks to Oscar. He grew up here and speaks about each dish with real excitement, never scripted, always on point. I started with a refreshing Star Map, then tried the adventurous Khruangbin – somehow that mix of green-chile vodka, peanut-butter whiskey, tamarind, lime, and cilantro just works. The seared octopus appetizer looked like artwork and tasted even better once the tapenade, ’nduja aioli, almonds, oregano, and citrus kicked in. A bright salad carried the same flavor notes and cleared the way for a standout pork chop served with fennel purée, hazelnut pesto, grilled pineapple, and a crisp fennel-hazelnut salad. Warm dulce de leche beignets sealed the deal. Historic walls, candlelit tables, flawless pacing, and a server who clearly loves the place. Five stars without hesitation, and a special thank-you to Oscar for making the meal feel personal and memorable.

                                                  A truly wonderful dining experience from start to finish. The food was exceptional, with each dish bursting with flavor and made with fresh ingredients. The snap pea salad was crisp and fresh. Pasta dishes were excellent and fresh. Megan our server was equally impressive – attentive, friendly, and efficient. Highly recommended and will be back next time we are Carmel.

                                                  The staff were extremely friendly, and very accommodating to us. Our waiter Shane was attentive but not intrusive. The food was amazing - we had the scallops as an appetizer, the bolognese and salmon as entrees. The atmosphere was relaxing. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys fresh ingredients used in an extraordinary way.

                                                  We were celebrating our anniversary and were given a perfect table . It was quiet and romantic. The food was delicious, but the main course could have been hotter . We paid for corkage , so I would have liked it even more if our waiter came by more than once to pour. On the other hand , he was friendly and professional. The only ding was the wine service. It was a lovely evening.
