   Disappointed by Hidden Charges at STK San Diego We recently dined at STK in downtown San Diego, and while the ambiance and vibe were great, the experience was overshadowed by an unexpected and frankly ridiculous charge — $40 for 2 butter and sauces. Yes, you read that right. Butter and sauces, which are usually complementary at steakhouses of this caliber, came with a hefty price tag here. We weren’t informed beforehand, and it felt like a sneaky upcharge rather than a premium experience. For a place that markets itself as upscale and guest-focused, this was a major letdown. The food itself was solid, and the service was decent, but it’s hard to enjoy a meal when you feel like you’re being nickel-and-dimed for basic accompaniments. We left feeling more annoyed than satisfied.

   Justin recommended a great cut of meat “cowgirl”. Jordon was a very attentive server. The manager came over to check on us like we were celebrities. Would definitely be back. Also, the front host was very sweet.

   The food was great. My wife got the 6oz filet and I got the 10oz, we also got truffle fries and the brussel sprouts which were both amazing. We had a couple drinks which were good, but our service was terrible. My wife ordered her drink right as we sat. Our server did not come back until her drink was ready about 15 minutes later. I placed a drink order, we ordered our food and then 15 minutes later a food runner brings out our dinner, but our server hadn’t been back. He came by 15 minutes after our dinner arrived and had forgotten to put my drink order in. Mind you this whole time he went by the table at the other booth about 8 times and stood there talking to them forever through the 2 hours. After I finally got my first drink we were close to done with our meal, after we finished our meal he sent the busser woman over to ask if we needed anything else, but didn’t come over until we finally flagged him down, which wasn’t easy. We asked for the check when we did get our server to come back, but 20 minutes went by and he never brought it and we had to ask someone else. Once he brought the payment tablet over, he tried to have an actual conversation with us and be friendly for the first time. We have been to many STK locations and always have had the best service, but last night was our 3 year wedding anniversary and it was the absolute worst service I’ve ever had.

   Always a great experience! STK has become our go-to steakhouse in town. Fun atmosphere, great service by Rafael. Can’t wait to go back.

   We were greeted at the door like we were movie stars! I had made the reservations for a group that I was taking out for business and it was not only a fantastic meal, but truly a great place to have a dinner meeting! The ambiance was electric, the service was outstanding and the food was simply amazing! Definitely worth a trip if you are looking for an extraordinary steak and incredible service! It is a bit pricey, but you only live once. Enjoy! Stacey Penn

   I love STK! The ambiance, food, and service is always great whenever I go. We did the Steak night deal and it was amazing. I love love the tater tots, shrimp cocktail, and the steak but everything was delicious. The cocktail drinks are also amazing. Our server Justin was great! He was super attentive and nice and made our evening great! STK is definitely one of my top favorite restaurants and I’ll always be coming back and tell my friends and family to come there!

   I loved my experience at STK! The food was absolutely perfect and the service was very friendly and attentive. My friends and I really enjoyed the atmosphere as well. Dimly lit, but not too dark, and the music gives it sort of a nightclub vibe. I’ll definitely be back!
