Stephanie's On Newbury Ratings and Reviews
Very expensive for such a poor quality meal. Ordered steak salad medium. The steak was grey and tasteless. My wife ordered a turkey salad. It was just rolled up luncheon meet.
The only reason I give them any stars at all is for the lobster guacamole appetizer and it’s a nice cozy place. Seems past it’s prime now. Paid Over $100 for basically a lousy meal and a mimosa.
The restaurants was running behind and we were not seated until half an hour after our reservation, which was completely fine.
Once seated the wait person took a drink and appetizer order then disappeared. The appetizers arrived but no one came back for over an hour. The problem was there were only two tables seated in the restaurant and no one, not even the manager noticed and came over.
This was my first visit to Stephanie’s. With all of the rave reviews I was sorely disappointed
Food and ambiance were wonderful!
Our server was inexperienced, could not make recommendations from food or drink menu, and forgot our appetizers. He also did not handle the bill the way we asked.
I will definitely come again but will make sure to have a different server.
While our service was outstanding, our food was lackluster. We were a family gathered for early holiday celebration in Boston for the weekend and chose Stephanie's based on our own previous dining experience there as well as it's reputation. We are well aware that we were dining at the peak of brunch hour, however Stephanie's is well-known for brunch and was a true disappointment. We'll hope for improvements, but will choose another venue for future gatherings.
