The food was very good but the service was a bit slow and we waited a really long time to get our food even though tables who got there after us got their food and left while we we were still waiting for our food. They also charge $2 per person for the restaurants PPE which I think is a little odd as I have never seen this before on a bill post-COVID. Overall, the food was good and perhaps just a busy day.
Food and service were both great! We loved the outdoor seating>. Great experience.
I was there on a (holiday) Monday evening with my daughter. The place was busy when we arrived for our 8:00pm reservation but not out of control.
The service was seemingly "off". Timing for ordering drinks and dinner was sporadic and then we had to wait 20 minutes to get our bill at the end, despite the restaurant being completely cleared out. Like we were forgotten.
No real recommendations from the server when asked her opinion.
Food was good but I thought it was over priced.
One of my favorite meals in Boston! Outdoor heating lamps we’re great and the food was incredible as always. The tuna tartar is always excellent and the burger is a must have.
Soooo yummy 😋
Went for Saturday brunch, service was slow food was very over priced and not that great to be honest.
food and service were excellent. tables spaced apart nicely with several heat lamps for outdoor dining.
All heaters were broken so it was so cold! Also no lights so we were in the dark. But our waiter was very sweet and food was yummy. Only issue was the food got cold very quick. Nachos were our favorite.
Lovely space nice lunch salad and overall a wonder experience
The food was delicious and consistently adds a good variety for different tastes. Love the ahi tuna, their nachos are fabulous, burgers are excellent as well as the lobster roll. Cocktails were terrific. Ambiance was excellent outside and it's always fun to people watch. Covid protocols were followed very well, making us feel safe. Service was very good, too. We had an excellent time!
omelet -$19- was ok, nothing special... told me it would cost $4 to have one piece of toast. So, not the best value. The patio is very nice. However, we had a person on the sidewalk coughing and sitting very close and it was very upsetting and distracting.
We had a delightful date there. Made reservations for an anniversary brunch and there were quite a lot of people but it is Newbury St. But the server was great and the food was great.
Service was unwelcoming at the host stand and our service was snarky and unhelpful.
Great to still eat outside they have heat lamps going! Good lobster rolls!
Excellent safety procedures regarding Covid
This place on Newbury has amazing ambiance. Service was immaculate and everyone working there was great. Personally not a fan of the food at all. Seemed pretty bland and didn’t want to finish even half of it. Great people but food was sub-par. Would come back maybe for drinks and the environment
Was a bit of a wait for a reserved time. Once seated we ordered and got my order wrong, even though I made a point to repeat it. Overpriced - $50 for a breakfast sandwich and 2 glasses of prosecco.
Always good to have a burger. Theirs are small but delicious. A nice, sheltered patio, protected from cars and pedestrians.
The outdoor seating was nice and the spacing was good. More heaters would have been nice because it was chilly. The food and service was good. The portions were generous. It was a pleasant dinner however it was a bit pricey.
Food was way overpriced for very underwhelming quality... was very disappointed in every dish we ordered, yet we paid same as we would have in a different restaurant with great food
I have been to Stephanie's many times over the years and I was quite disappointed with the service and my meal.
Our first foray into the COVID-19 dining world had us seated out on the patio at a table near the servers’ entrance and the bussing station. Despite a well thought out social distancing plan elsewhere , my friend and I spent most of our lunch talking over waitstaff chatting, dishes clattering into bins, and swatting flies and bees away from us, as they flew around nearby the trash barrel...attracted by the smell of garbage. Not very appetizing at all.
The service was professional and friendly, the food what you expect from a lunch menu...it was just the poor seating placement that spoiled the visit.
Good food and very good staff. However because of tourist location, overpriced.
With the pandemic, it was almost empty but still fully staffed and all staff were very pleasant. Food was very good, definitely will be going back.
Stephanie's is one of those places that will always get the business because of it's location, the best and his outdoor seating is great but the food is only ok and the prices are ridiculously expensive for what you get, not to mentions the $17 mini cocktail price. The service was also very very poor.
Just okay, not overwhelmed. Went for brunch and felt very rushed. I ordered the Mexican Fried Egg sandwich and it was just okay. Nice patio set-up on Newbury.
The service was extremely poor. My food was burnt and had no salt. The server came by to check in maybe once. Our table was slanted and glasses kept sliding off to once side. It was pretty bad for the price we were charged
Very enjoyable al fresco brunch with good drinks, good food and good friends.
As always the service was great food delicious and ambience beautiful outside! You should not advertise a PPE charge in your menu. I found it to be distasteful. I realize that restaurants are struggling and that the additional expense of PPE can be cumbersome. However you could have easily added in this cost by raising the prices on food items. Thank you.
This was the worst experience we ever had a Stephanie’s. They put us in a corner outside when their was other tables to put us at. Once we sat it took over 15 minutes for anyone to come over to ask for our drink order. Once we ordered the drinks we waited another 10 minutes and no drinks came - so we left. I was very disappointed in the overall service. This place use to be great was to see it go downhill.
Great outdoor dining space, good food and service. Just a little noisy since it's right at the corner of Newbury and Exeter Streets. Overall, a nice place for a patio meal.
If the majority of one’s party are present at the time of the reservation, they should be seated instead of being made to wait. Your policy of not seating a party until all are present is snooty as well as detrimental to older people who must remain standing.
A great Boston restaurant has clearly lost a step. Food came out cold and was average at best. Service the same. Disappointing.
I’ve always loved Stephanie’s in the past, yet this time my group was not excited to find out they are charging $2 per person for PPE (personal protective equipment). This is not mentioned upon making a reservation, upon arrival, or upon first introduction from the server. They mention this in small print at the end of the menu under the dessert section, which of course no one sees until the end of the night if that. We did not see this until we received the bill. Frankly, as a healthcare worker myself PPE does not cost anywhere close to $2 a person. They did not say what they are doing with this extra money. Also, I had been out to 5 other restaurants this same week and no other location was charging for PPE. I am appalled at this gesture as everyone is in this together and they are selfish enough to be charging that when no other restaurant or grocery store or any other kind of store I’ve seen thus far is charging this. Although the server was wonderful and food was good, from this act we will not be going back.
Super fun night and we sat outside and the weather was great. Food came at a nice time and was super enjoyable.
Dinner before dropping our daughter for college. Great food and service on a beautiful outdoor setting.
Lovely to get out again ! Sat outside under an umbrella in the rain, was very cozy. Would go back again!
GREAT neighborhood spot, they really did a good job with social distancing and keeping areas spotless, food was good, server was lovely -
