Stephanie's On Newbury

Great ambiance and service. My Greek salad with chicken was embarrassingly overpriced even for Newbury Street and Boston. You can do better at many other places on Newbury Street.
Regular in the city.
We had a very nice brunch! We like Stephanie’s very much.
The food never disappoints at Stephanie’s. The Mac and cheese is a winner. So is the lobster guac. Tiffany was an excellent server, too! We’ll be back for post marathon eats next year.
Good food, nice table for a conversation but service could have been better. Orders were not correct twice. Better attention to details needed.
It was very busy on Sunday, as the weather was nice and it was a holiday weekend. Even with reservations we still had to wait close to 10 minutes to be seated (hosts were very nice and apologetic!!). Once we were seated, no one came over and after 15 minutes of just sitting there, I called a waitress over and asked if we could at least order drinks. After another 10 minute wait, the drinks came and our waiter scurried off before taking our order. After waiting another 10 or so minutes, he came and took our order. We were seated for more than 30 minutes before we were able to order (almost 45 min. after our reservation time). What's the point of a reservation???
The food came fairly quickly. My friend ordered the egg skillet and it was ok. It was very greasy(clearly cooked in an excess of butter) but it was edible. Which is more than I can say for my french toast. The menu said pan fried with mascarpone cheese and jam. There was no cheese and it was deep fried. Fried.To.Death. I pushed on it with my fork and grease oozed out of the bread. There was jam in between, but no cheese. I ate a few bites and that was all I could stomach- it was just so greasy!!
The service left a lot to be desired. I shouldn't have to ask for syrup, water, etc. I shouldn't have to flag down anyone I can find to get the bill. I get that it's busy, but either manage your reservations better or hire more staff.
I had a friend visiting from out of town and was hoping to treat her to a nice brunch. We both left slightly hungry, annoyed and with a serious dent in my pocket.
Very loud and our service was really slow.
We come to Stephanies every year for Sunday brunch before the marathon. Great pancakes!
The food was delicious and fish cooked perfectly. My main complaint was the noise level. We had a table of 8 and we had to shout the whole evening to hear each other. There were several large parties where we were seated but it was noisy everywhere in the restaurant. That is the reason for my lower grade.
We have been to Stephanie’s restaurant many times over the years, but this time was our worst experience. The service was extremely poor, worst we ever had there. I had the scallop dish and other choices were salmon and fish and chips at the table. The food was average.
Great service. Love the menu!
We expected it to be busy since it was Marathon weekend, but it was apparent that the restaurant was ill-prepared. This is surprising because the Marathon has been happening for years, and Stephanie’s has been in its current location for years. The food was barely fine, definitely overpriced, and just average all around. Without their location, there really isn’t much going for them.
Worst crab cakes in the city. Too much bread crumbs and couldn’t taste the crab meat with the crab Benedict
A last minute reservation at the suggestion of friends. Met all expectations. Wait staff very attentive.
Great server who was originally from Columbia.
She was warm, personable and efficient.
I wont go back. Too noisy. Limited menu. Horrible service.
Always solid brunch
We love Stephanie’s! The Bloody Mary special every Sunday is wonderful and fun. The menu is diverse for any palate and the food is made with great care. Service can be slow at the bar at times but although busy, the table service was fantastic.
Great brunch. Most dishes are reasonably priced for Boston. The pancakes are excessively overpriced, more expensive than egg dishes. My favorite dishes are the carnitas and eggs in a skillet.
Great location, mediocre food. Everything came out barely warm. Wanted to try because it was highly recommended. There are much better brunches in Boston.
A little pricey, but overall a great place to go, especially for brunch
Excellent food and menu choices. Staff very attentive.
Noisy and hard to talk freely with tables so close.
Disappointed with visit today. Place is in need of an cosmetic uplift. Not very clean and felt dirty. Fried chicken sandwich was cold. Fish and chips were heavy on batter and small piece of fish.
I hadn't been to Stephanie's in a long time. It's always been a favorite and it was great to see some things never change. The food was fabulous and the service was top notch!!
Stephanie's On Newbury is our go to when treating ourselves to a fun Sunday brunch. The food is always perfect. The mimosas are delicious and the service is consistently exceptional. The staff is attentive without a sense of urgency dispite the energetic pace of the dininng room. Our family enjoys scene which is filled with multigenerational families, couples, friends or special events. Everyone is enjoying the great food and fun atmosphere that is Stephanie's On Newbury.
Stephanies is always great. Very consistent and warm atmosphere. Its our special place to go
was nice but extremely noisy and very crowded
Our table was ready right away. The waiter was fantastic and recommended a good wine and the food was wonderful. Loved the atmosphere and our cozy booth.
Hands Down, Our new favorite spot. They make the simple, taste and look elegant.
Awesome as always! We try to have brunch at Stephanie’s every Sunday if we can. Service always stellar! Love Eggs Benedict and lobster guacamole, especially.
Extremely disappointed with the service. Took a long time to be greeted by a server once seated, didn’t offer warm bread when every table around us had it, didn’t check in on food. Terrible service and mediocre food. Wasn’t worth the price.
Great service and a really nice meal
Fun, good food and atmosphere
Great restaurant for Brunch! We really enjoyed our meal.
Food was very good but portions were small for the price.
I will try Sonia and see which one tastes better. However, Stephanie is a good place to come
Food was delicious and the waitstaff were very friendly! Can’t wait to go back!
We were sat in the upstairs section, central table, which was fine, but for the fact that cool air was blown onto us by air conditioners, which made some of our guests feel a bit cold. Is it possible to redirect the air upwards, rather than at the guests directly? The food was fine, although one guest's requested medium rare strip steak was more medium to overdone. The waiter was poor, being unsure of what he was supposed to do, and at times snappy. Charitably, this may have been because he was new or untrained, or both. That said, previous visits to the restaurant have been better than this one, plus it has the benefit of plenty of tables, so is often easier to book when other smaller, more upscale restaurants are booked out.
Fun Boston establishment. Great food and make sure to try the make-your-own Bloody Marys - they’re delicious!
