   Disappointing Mother’s Day Brunch Experience We’ve enjoyed Stella’s in Simpsonville, so we had high hopes for the Greenville location on Mother’s Day. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t meet expectations. The brunch featured a fixed two-course menu, but when we arrived (a later reservation after church), one of the courses already had an option unavailable. We were understanding and ordered something else, but then two people in our party were later informed that their new selections were also unavailable. When I asked what was still available, this staff member said, “Well, that’s what happens when you book a late reservation.” Not exactly what you want to hear on a special occasion. A sincere apology and a small gesture—like a comped drink or dessert—would have gone a long way. Instead, it felt like we were being blamed for their poor planning. Other notes: The space itself is clean and in a great location, but the service and communication really fell short. Disappointed, especially considering how great the Simpsonville location has been.

   Hello, Taylor. I sincerely apologize for your experience on Sunday. It was by no means my intention to blame you for us running out of menu items toward the end of service.    We sat on the covered patio which was lovely and much, much quieter than inside. The food was amazing!

   Service was great! Food mediocre, especially when it’s a fixed price menu and limited choices. Fried green tomatoes appetizer was good. Fruit tart crust was so hard/dry it was difficult to eat. Chicken and waffles subpar; soggy waffle, bland hot-honey sauce. Seafood chowder, short rib hash and omelette were better. The bill was over $230 and that is expensive for the food quality. Only 1 alcoholic cocktail and 2 coffees so that total was mostly food, not beverages

   Excellent service. Food was delicious. Love the Collard dip. The seafood chowder was also very good. Dirty martinis were perfect. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal!

   We were there with our dog, sat outside and got great service while celebrating our dog “Henry” eighth birthday. The waiter was attentive to Henry also.

   Stella’s always crams people in, even though the restaurant was half empty. There are too many tables which makes it hard to walk around, have conversations, and feel like you can have space to actually enjoy a meal. We were a party of two seated next to a table that was so close to ours the man behind me kept bumping into me when he would slightly lean back in his chair. I physically had to shift the table. The stand out is the collard green dip, it’s amazing. The onion soup is really good, but they leave the stems from thyme in there. I’ll go back for the food. But I truly hate the dinning room, and it’s the interior space that has lead me to book larger parties at other restaurants.

   Prices were much higher than the last time we went. Entrees were $30-$42, with the exception of a salad with chicken which I got. I have had meals downtown that were cheaper prices. It was an average meal with great friends.
