Everything was great. The outdoor seating was nicely set up with nice tables and chairs and umbrellas. The slow cooked octopus and cod fritters were delicious and the wait staff were funny and helpful. We’ll definitely be going back!
Absolutely amazing! Mitch, our server, gave awesome recommendations and made sure that everything was satisfactory. Drinks were awesome and food was outstanding. We sat inside and it was charming but the patio looked adorable. I would sit out there next time.
Always amazing .
Service was slow, they seemed to be understaffed. Our oysters were served in a puddle of water, no ice. I got very sick after eating the linguine with clams. Really disappointing experience.
UPDATE: Stella issued a full refund for our meal. Pleased with the customer service experience. Updated my review to 3 stars
What a wonderful addition to Seattle restaurants! I had the steelhead, medium rare. Flawless! Delicious! My partner had the salad, which he loved, and we split the starter of heirloom tomatoes, asparagus and baratta. Awesome! We went on a Sunday night and it was pretty fully booked. Highly recommended.
Extremely poor service and extremely poor selection of food.
Our server was super slow and late, the table bust boy was better and was more helpful and everything.
Spectacular evening for dinner outside. Waiter was attentive and knowledgeable, food was amazing. Highly recommend the octopus—the best I’ve ever had!
Overall restaurant is very nice.
Service was good. My main meal; lamb/pasta was a little to dry & not that much lamb.
Environment is very nice. Outdoor area for drinks & dinner is great. Service there is very good.
My best friend and I came here to try it out. The patio is lovely but other then that we were both underwhelmed. The food was just fine, and for the price , I expected it to be amazing. We had a nice night but won’t be going back.
Wonderful people and dining experience all around-thank you for contributing!
We came here for a birthday dinner and we were lucky enough to have Vince as our waiter. He was attentive, helpful and made our dinner even more special with his excellent service. The food was great, all of his recommendations were well appreciated and would definitely come back to try the rest of their menu. 10/10, eat here!
Great location, inside was beautiful. Food was okay, not bad, but average
This is a beautiful building in the city and the food at stella was awesome...try the cod fritter appetizer and the scallops! Great. I will definitely be a returning guest.
Slow disorganized service.
My family and I had a wonderful experience at Stella- food was delicious and service was wonderful. I really appreciate the welcoming attitude towards my children. We will definitely be back- pasta was cooked perfectly and the atmosphere was beautiful and relaxing-
The setting is lovely, food and drinks were good, service needs improvement.
Super nice staff, good food, pretty setting. They were running behind on our reservation and couldn’t be nicer about it. Great lemon drop martinis!
Great place for a date night or night out in general.
Came in for my birthday with friends and had a great time. Our server Mitch was sassy and fun. Food was excellent.
Ambience was beautiful and food was great.
Amazing experience. It was my first time there and the staff went above and beyond my expectations. Really beautiful outdoor space and the food was top notch.
Lex and Terrance were amazing! Just as delightful was the delicious apps and meals we enjoyed. The setting was just perfect and we had such fun! Thank you so much for having us!!! Definitely will be back next time I am in town.
Stella is a surprise find on first hill. Both the ambience and food are amazing!
Delicious food, fantastic service, and a nice ambiance with music volume just right with lots of space between tables.
Good food, great atmosphere. Fun, attentive waoter.
We enjoyed Stella so much. The chef, Carolyn and her crew from Shaker and Spear are just fantastic. We enjoyed everyone from the host, to the servers, to the door person. The food is exceptional and we were so happy with everything. If you want amazing seafood and sides, come here.
It was lovely. The steelhead was amazing, as were the chèvre toasts with salad. Staff marvelously friendly and efficient.
Overall experience was great. However, the table was extremely small for a reservation made in advance for 5 people. The waiter was attentive in the beginning but didn’t make a point to clear our empty drinks we had during our appetizers, once the main course arrived. We also had to flag down several other staff to get a wine list. By the time we received a bottle for the table we were almost finished with dinner.
The food and ambiance was great, although entrance for seating was a little misleading.
Excellent food, fresh and nicely serviced… a great and convivial place, no cookie cutter. For appreciative eaters who like to have a fine time at a great place.
At 5pm, the outside dining is already in the shade. The tables are well spaced and many have umbrellas. It's not too often that we wander east of I-5 so it was pleasant to discover such a gem. The seafood - from the oysters to a small plate of deep fried artichokes, shrimp, squid and anchovies to the mains ( me: scallops, them: steelhead) were well prepared and presented. We washed it all down with a great French rosé. It's also a treat to have a staff that is engaging and not in a hurry to clear you out. Can't wait to go back!
Great experience - fantastic courtyard and great food - get the ragu
Father’s Day dinner. We all enjoyed our time so much and Mitch was so nice and attentive. Also his flare made our evening fun. Thanks!
It was my wife’s birthday and we had a wonderful time. The service was outstanding. The food was perfect and the drinks were exquisite. We will definitely be going back there again.
The food and outdoor seating were wonderful. Such a treat on a sunny day!
Stella just keeps getting better and better. The patio is wonderful in all ways: the service is friendly but not intrusive, the food is spectacular: so many good tastes.
the service was super slow, we sat there for probably 2 hours and the waiters barely check up on you
It was great food! And enjoyed having a nice meal with my teen daughter.
We are long time devotees of the Sorento and we’re very excited to get to dine at Stella again. I called to let them know 2 rather than 4, kurt and overextended host set poor tone for evening. The tiniest martinis ever! Pork chop good. Steelhead and asparagus bad. Drunk girls in booth next to us with shoes off, playing with feet on bench. Woman at another table eating like she was at a trough. Has Covid made us forget all manners so fast???
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Stella last night and recommend it enthusiastically! We're longtime Sorrento patrons - from our wedding night back in 1995, to many, many Christmas Eves with the family. This was our first time back in years, ever since the revamping of the Fireside Room into a hip, mid-century, nightclub-type atmosphere... we weren't into that at all for our beloved, classic Sorrento, and missed the ambience of what it used to be. Fortunately, Stella and the current management team are doing it right this time! While the Fireside Room is more contemporary now, it's in good taste with a nod to its classic roots - for example, they've brought back the velvet seating bench that encircles the center column and the dark wood floors feel cozy again.
But I digress - this review is about Stella, so let me say we were pleasantly surprised by how delicious everything was. To be honest, when I first glanced at the menu, I felt a little less than confident that I was going to love what I ordered... I'm not sure why, but the listing of dinner items didn't rock my world. Until I tasted them! There were three of us, and every single dish was phenomenal (I tasted them all) :). I had the spiced pork chop with braised cabbage and stewed apples and I was glad it was such a hefty portion, so I had some left to nibble on at home late night. It was still delcious! My daughter had the Bolognese which is quite possibly the best I've ever had. And my husband ordered the burger, which was heavenly. Make sure you order the Cod Brandade Fritters, too - divine! And our server, Michael, went above and beyond for us and, even though he was wearing a mask the whole time, I could tell it was all done with a smile - from dragging an umbrella over to our table when it started to rain (we were seated outside), to sharing his vast knowledge of the menu, the chef's background, the bartender's awards... he knows his stuff! We loved it. Go. You won't be sorry.
