Excellent service and ambiance - I'll return for sure.
Food and beer were good. Server was friendly and nice. He kept coming to check on us if we need anything else even though he was very busy running around and taking care of other customers
Attentive service and great drink selection.
The food was excellent but when we were seated, we asked the hostess to give us a table in the sun and she said that section was closed and didn't let us. 5 mins later another group of 4 walked in and she gave them our coveted sunny table! That was super frustrating. Our server was lovely though and even comped the donuts cause it was my birthday :)
Love this place! Great outdoor seating which is hard to find in 2020
Good food!
This written review section is annoying. I would rather just check boxes.
Great service, good beer, and tasty food. The level of buzz during Covid isn't quite there but that's a good thing! They are doing a good job with masks and social distancing protocols.
We were seated quickly, but right away noticed the table was not clean. This seemed odd since the place was not at all busy due to Covid restrictions. Bits of food were stuck to the menus, and bits were present between table slats.
My friends and I don't hang as often because of these weird COVID times, so any time we get together is a treat. Steins Beer Garden made sure it was a meal to remember. Eating outside during a pleasant evening in Mountain View was a delight. All tables are spaced out, and as soon as a party leaves, staff clean up promptly.
Food-wise, my friends and I shared fries as an appetizer (get 'em crispy!). I had the burger, which hit the spot, and my buddy had the fried chicken sandwich, which he wolfed down. And, of course, the beer! Plenty of different beers on tap and lots of good local/California choices, too.
Most importantly, shout-out to the staff, in particular, Nate and Christian. They were friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service. They took the night from good to great.
Thanks for being open and the memorable night!
The ambiance for brunch and dinner is very pleasant. The service excellent. On both occasions the waiters and other staff have been very attentive and accommodating. The food and the portion is good. Some could be a bit more flavorful but overall good. We’ll be visiting again.
Super great brunch service!
Amazing service!! Amazing food, amazing people there.
Very sweet small
Place for a quick bite and hanging with friends
We had a great dinner on the large patio and were really impressed with the service!
It was very pleasant. The staff was wonderful. The food was perfect. Very happy😊
Every time we go, we Love the environment and servers. The food is always delicious. We appreciate every one of you that are working there during this pandemic.
We enjoyed brunch. Service was good. Patio seating ideal.
I enjoyed their chicken and waffles. My husband found the chicken sandwich tasty.
My husband enjoyed the beer flight and also a larger beer. I liked their mules.
Great “scratch” kitchen. Extensive beer selection, excellent “comfort” food. Delicious entrees. Well worth a visit. The BBQ Ribs are outstanding. Pulled Pork Sliders also very tasty. Homemade Mac & Cheese.
We’re planning a reprise.
Food is always good here. We have missed Steins since the shutdown because we used to visit for Sunday brunch quite often. (It was a special date with my wife after a few months of takeout and home-cooked meals!!) We also enjoy the different beer choices which add to the experience. All in all, a great experience as usual

Great beers, excellent service and awesome patio area.
Service are attentive & friendly.
Great socially distant experience.
Great place to meet up and relax. Will go there again.
Excellent service with very friendly staff. Beer selection is amazing and appetizers were delicious. Will be back soon
They have a nice menu and ambiance. It was pretty empty on a Monday at 1:30 pm. Our server accidentally placed the wrong beer on our table and then returned 5 minutes later and said, "sorry, this is the wrong beer, this is the grapefruit one". My friend asked, "are you just going to throw that away?" And the server answered "yes". So my friend said - we'll drink it if you are going to throw it out; we don't want to waste it. Later, we got the bill and were charged an extra $15 for the wrong beer. We asked her why she charged us for that beer and she said, "I can't give you free drinks". Thought that was strange to charge us for her mistake.
This was the first time eating outside of our home for my adult daughter and me since shelter-in-place. Stein’s was set up very well for social distancing outdoors, and the wait staff were masked and very polite and considerate wrt social distancing. They were also attentive and the service was superb. The food was delicious as usual and the beer selection good as always.
They staff paid special attention to providing umbrella shade to tables in the late afternoon sun.
My daughter and I are very careful about wearing masks and maintaining social distance on the few occasions that we go out for groceries or other supplies, and we feel at ease in the environment Stein’s has created.
It was a nice night out on the patio. Enjoyed the evening.
Our server Jeffrey was great. Customers came to the patio wearing masks. Tables spaced out well. Lots of shade.
Good food, glad its back open.
was so nice to be dining outdoors again. Staff was great. Beer selection excellent. Food yummy!
Amazing service, spacious outdoor patio, love it!
Spacious patio , tables are spaced apart during covid times. Just glad to be out and had an enjoyable dining experience which we took for granted before covid. Their beers and food were delicious.
Glad to be back, even if it was a little quieter than usual. Still great food, still great beer :D
With the Covid 19 pandemic, this restaurant was reopened after the restriction was lifted with outdoor dining. Safety procedure was in place and service was decent. Food choices on the menu were a bit limited and a bit pricey, but given the extra procedures they have to take to reopen, we appreciated the outdoor dining experience. It was a great brunch.
So wonderful to experience a high quality restaurant experience again after a nine week
absence!
Brunch menu is delicious. So hearty and delicious. We had Locomoco and Chicken Fried Steak.
Seemed to be understaffed. The waiter was working hard and was very pleasant and helpful but it was hard for him to keep up with all the tables he was serving.
Nice selection of beers, and food that will please any type of eater in your group, all done quite well.
Server is always late to come ask for drinks/check
