Love this place! Have been here 3 times when in Hot Springs now. Very good food quality and great service
Everything was excellent, best German restaurant we’ve been to.
Fabulous food and service! One of my favorite places!
My favorite discovery in Hot Springs. Everything about this place was exceptional. Reservations are highly recommended. Open Table makes it easy. The delicious food, fast/friendly service and rustic atmosphere exceeded my expectations. We had the shank (so tender) and the Black Forest Schnitzel (yummy). You will be glad you found Steinhaus Keller.
Went here last night with some out of town friends who were here before. Made reservations and a good thing we did as those who didn't were turned away. We were seated immediately and Cassy, our server took our drink order while we looked over the menu. She came back and took our orders and we waited about 45 minutes for our food which I didn't think unreasonable as the place was FULL. Food was excellent and all were satisfied with their meals. As many places are short of staff I make sure that the ones who choose to work know I appreciate Them. Still one of my favorites.
Everything was amazing! Great food and great service!
Probably the best German food we've had in the area and that includes Tulsa Metro Kansas City Metro and parts of Arkansas. We had a mixed board sausage cheeses and pretzel for an appetizer. I had the veal schnitzel with ham and cheese on top and it was amazing. My wife had the beef roulade and it was phenomenal. We have the German chocolate cake and I have the apple streusel with cream sauce. Absolutely worth doing again.
One of our favorite places, it just gets better and better.
Good food and quaint atmosphere. Waiter was very scatterbrained and horribly slow.
My wife wanted to go there for our anniversary. I can't eat pork. I tried to find a non pork entree that wasn't prohibitively expensive. I wanted to like this place, but after spending nearly $100, all I can think is "roast beef shouldn't taste like candy". I will brag on our waiter, he was very attentive. It would have been nice to try a beef sausage at least. I left hungry and wondering what I paid for. I reached out to the restaurant and got a middle finger in reply. I will not be going back.
Service was great, food was phenomenal, beer was even better, great experience!
Always a wonderful experience! We enjoy our time their every time!
We always enjoy Stienheus Keller!! Great service and food
Overall we had a fabulous dining experience at Steinhaus Keller. The atmosphere was relaxing and inviting. The food was delicious and authentic. They obviously care about their customers and take pride in their establishment. The service was impeccable. Will definitely return the next time we are in town.
The food is consistently delicious. We all had different dishes and all were wonderful. The service was great. Good wine and beer choices. Ambiance is unique. Outdoor seating is an option, as well.
Very rude hostess but our Waiter was fabulous. Food was cold after waiting over an hour
Excellent food and service. Waitstaff was ready to answer questions and also takes Covid seriously and distances tables.
I really enjoyed everything, just could have used a little less accordion music. The lady was good don’t get me wrong, but the table we got was right by her and we couldn’t hardly visit
I love this restaurant! We have eaten here several times and it never disappoints. Waiters/waitresses are always nice and knowledgeable about the food and beer. Family friendly also! The atmosphere is awesome. Make sure to get the big pretzel on a hook and the sauerkraut is out of this world. All items are the menu are good! There is something for everyone.
It was my birthday when I went, and it was honeslty the most fun I've ever had going out to eat on a birthday. The whole experience was just awesome.
The food was very authentic German.
Wide variety German wine. The waitress was very knowledgeable. The waitress provided great service.
My wife and I travel with friends every year and we love to try new places to eat. This was the best so far! If we find our way back to Hot Springs will definitely go back!
Our reservation was for 8pm
We were seated at 8:40
We got our food around 9:40
Our orders were not what we ordered
The problem was not corrected
The site mentions live music but doesn’t say it’s not “German”
Our waiter was great.
Hope this restaurant gets its act together.
We had chosen this restaurant to celebrate a special occasion, however our night ended disappointingly. The good first, the menu was optimum and the food tasted fine. We had a reservation at around 7, and we ordered as soon as we got a seat. However after the appetizers, we had to wait for 1-1.5 hrs for my main course. Then they informed my spouse's main course would be further delayed the server gave us the option of cancelling the order, my spouse said ok go ahead and cancel it. Immediately they said no it's done and served it. We order cakes at the end for our celebration which they never arranged and we left. They seemed to be treating different tables differently. We wouldn't want to go back again.
We were seated at 7:15 at night and didn’t receive our food until 9pm at night. The server apologized numerous times and said he would contact the manager but never did. By the time we got our food all entrees were cold. We barely ate any of our food and couldn’t understand why we got cold food when the server kept stressing the kitchen was behind. A really sad experience considering this is one of my families favorite restaurants
My husband is half German and I booked this restaurant as a special treat for him and also based on reviews. Well, what a disappointment! We made reservations several days in advance for 7 pm. Our drinks and appetizer arrived promptly and the live music was very nice. The restaurant was busy, but there seemed to be enough waiters. Our waiter disappeared after refilling our drinks and over an hour later we still had no food on our table. I had to call her to ask when our food would be ready after 1.15 hrs. She simply said she was going to check. She came back to inform us that we were fifth in line. No apologies, and no explanation as to why it was taking so long. At that point half the tables were empty and all the customers left had no food on their tables. They were waiting too!! Our food arrived 1 hr and 45 minutes after we ordered it. I wish I could say it was worth the wait, sadly, it was not! Bland and flavorless Schnitzel and German potato salad. The cabbage was okay. My husband’s food was no better. I am not German, but I can tell this was not authentic or even close. The server said something that sounded like a sad excuse when she brought the bill and thanked us for our patience. They should have comp some of our food or give us a discount at least for the long wait. Nothing. This was a big waste of our valuable vacation time.
It took 1 1/2 hours to get our food!
The food was decent, not great
Probably won’t go back
The receptionist was incredibly rude. All the pleasant charm of a rattle snake. She should be reminded the customers do not interrupt her job, they ARE her job. Third negative experience with her. Everything else was great. The interior could be freshened and it was a little noisy, but the waiter was awesome and the food was great.
Sorteo of good, place was not busy, and the only reservation was out side with we took.
It was a bit cold and the y had at least 5 tables empty inside.
The food was great as was our server. Love the history’s for the look of the building.
Lovely atmosphere, great place to go for good German food.
We had a rehearsal dinner at Steinhaus as it is the brides favorite place in Hot Springs. They took such excellent care of us, i cant thank them enough. It was a large party but the great service made it feel intimate and wonderful. The food and libations were excellent as well.
Food was amazing, server was friendly, we had a great time!
Making a reservation with OpenTable seemed pointless, considering a table of 5 walked in and was seated before us without referencing reservations or even asking a name. When I asked why, the hostess didn’t recall already speaking with me.
We made reservations for 7PM and arrived 15 minutes early. We were told a table was being cleared and we’d be seated in a moment, which is expected when arriving early to reservations.
We were finally seated at about 720. We were given an appetizer (on the house) for our wait.
Regardless of the issues with hosting, I’m glad we stuck out the wait because the food was amazing and is the closest thing I’ve had to legitimate German food I’ve had since I moved back to The US from Germany.
The pretzel with bier cheese and mustard was authentic and The Jaeger Schnitzl was spot on, as well as the Spaetzel.
If I ever have a reason to return to Hot Springs, I will set time aside to visit SteinHaus Keller because the food was definitely worth the logistic hiccup.
Our server was exceptional in steering us towards the best choice for our meal. The entire meal was excellent, sumptuous tasting and presented beautifully when it came out quicker that most meals I have ever ordered in a restaurant. Liked it so much, we went back the next night to eat there again before leaving to return home. Do not miss this restaurant! The Braised Beef Sauerbraten, Spaetzle, Beer Cheese Soup, Red Cabbage and Apple Strudel were total winners. We were informed the Apple Strudel was made by a woman who was in her 80s and had survived the holocaust…made that desert even more meaningful. And it was the best I have ever eaten. Highly recommend!!
Been to this restaurant many times over many years its been up and down but now its at its peak great value for outstanding German food. The new black forest schnitzel was outstanding and the numerous side selections were great. Will be my favorite go to place in Hot Springs
Food was good but the service was pretty bad.
Having lived in Germany for four years, our expectations are quite high. The server kept boasting about how authentic everything was in the place, so that added to the disappointment when the pommes frites were served with standard ketchup instead of curry ketchup and/or mayonnaise dip. The "rahm" of the rahmschnitzel was not very creamy, but otherwise, the food was delicious. We would probably go often if we lived in town, but won't make the hour long drive for it again.
The best German food we’ve ever had. Huge portions, reasonable prices and a wonderful server.
Easy reservation. Table ready no wait. We go because we can make reservations. A little disappointed in my meal but probably it was just my selection. Others liked their dinner. Great selection of draft beers. AlL in all a good evening. Harry was attentively to our needs and checked on us.
