The food was delicious and the service was phenomenal. Our waitress was very attentive without being overbearing and everything we ate from the appetizer to the dessert was amazing. Love eating here!
Wow! First I was amazed to find a German speciality restaurant in a place like Hot Springs Arkansas. But then the menu is so interesting and authentic, it became a MUST TRY!!
WOW again!!! Sauerbraten was so tender and flavors that only my mother used to provide. Incredibly delicious, tender, perfect flavors! Superb. Add red cabbage, equally perfect in seasoning with a richness and complexity of flavors. My wife paired this with potato salad, warm spicy with a hint of wine vinegar. YUM!!
I had the Schnitzel, delicate veal, a hunter sauce, spaetzle, and a potato pancake. Applesauce of course. Just delicious.
This restaurant is worth a trip to Hit Springs just for the FOOD!!!!
Highly highly recommend.
Great food - great service! Not easy to see from the street. Ask for directions - you won't be sorry!
The food was good, but when it arrived over an hour after we ordered, it was cold. That seemed to be the issue for all of the tables around us; one table had to go find some one to ask about their order and she said they had been waiting for nearly an hour and a half. The bartender was very personable and quick-we enjoyed our wait in the bar (we had reservations and arrived early). We got one refill on our drinks for the nearly two hours we were there, had to ask for bread, and kept getting bumped by busy waiters rushing past us (we were seated in front of the stage). There were many other tables open that would have been more comfortable for us and not in the way of the waitstaff.
Delicious food, delectable german beers, engaging Octoberfest ambiance. Never disappoints!
The food was good and the beer selection excellent.
But service was very slow about an 1.5 hours for food
Excellent German food. One of the best restaurants I've discovered in awhile. Also enjoyed being able to order our dog's dinner from the dog menu!
I couldn’t imagine how any part of our visit could have gone better: the waitstaff was friendly and efficient, the food was delicious (I can’t recommend the Sauerkraut Cakes enough), and the atmosphere was especially festive (our visit coincided with their Oktoberfest). “10/10”‘s and golden stars all around. Can’t wait for our next visit!
It was a little bit expensive for what we got, but it was to be expected for this type of restaurant. Everything we ate was PHENOMENAL.
We dine at Steinhaus Keller every so often... It's got a great atmosphere, service is good and the food is outstanding. My favorite is the alpine chicken... Oh and it's one of the only places you can or piesporter wine with it.. Really nice way to start an evening or finish a day.
Good food. Live music on Friday/Saturday from 7-9pm. Very enjoyable experience.
Excellent food and atmosphere. Far superior to the German fare offered by the previous ownership. Service was a little slow but our server had two very large tables and appeared to be on her own. Will return for sure. We did miss the tuba band...
Always enjoy going there. Since we lived in Germany for 7 years, the food is authentic and we really appreciate it. Delicous
Overall good experience. Having lived in Germany, the food tastes very close
Authentic German food in Hot Springs, Arkansas ! Great beer, wine, and cocktail list and great prices for a lot of great food!
Good food, good portions, good service, good beer, knowledgable server, quiet atmosphere. Really enjoyed it and would love to go back.
Outstanding food and service. Music was a bit loud, but good.
The brat was great, the red cabbage wonderful, the German potato salad not to my taste (potatoes overcooked, no sweetness at all), and the apple strudel odd (placed on a sea of custard - what the heck?!?!?!?). Good location, great ambiance, fantastic service.
We had a lovely time and our food was amazing!! We had a live band that evening to enjoy. My husband had a black cherry cake and was in love !!
Great location, friendly staff, great beer and wine selections and craft cocktails, too! It was hard to choose what to order as it all looked so good! Our solution was to eat there 2 nights in a row! Both meals were superb. If you crave German authenticity, you will be so happy to eat here.
Our group (of Houston SJCC Corvette caravaners, returning from the NCM 25th anniversary weekend celebrations) grew to 14, but was wonderfully accommodated and served by management & staff alike (especially our server, Caitlyn). The atmosphere, food & beverage, and service were all top notch! Highest ratings possible!
Booked via open table for 8 PM, seated at 8:15, not too bad. Ordered the pretzel, standard German requirement, was hard as a rock on one side ( not standard German). Took an hour for the main course to be delivered, about 30 minutes more than it should have. Rarely saw our waitress at our table. Family behind us were comped their dessert because it took so long. The dessert we ordered when we ordered our meal never showed, but luckily was not on the bill. Good thing we will be in Germany where quality of food, presentation and service are ALL expected to be high.
On the high note was the violinist playing - the high note of the night (no pun intended).
I made a timely reservation online a week before, when we got there we had to wait 30 minutes before being seated. Once we were seated we got drinks and an appetizer fairly quickly. However that’s when we no longer saw our waitress and the food we ordered never came out, after waiting for 90 minutes our waitress came to inform us she had checked on our food and there were only 3 more people ahead of us. We decided to leave and not have dinner. I would never recommend visiting this establishment and would never go back. They are extremely unprofessional and the overall service was horrible at best. Save your money and time.
My Wife and I directed to Steinhaus by a couple of friends and it didn't disappoint. My wife, who is of German descent, is a very good cook of traditional German food. This was passed on to her by her mother who was also a fantastic cook. Over the years we have tried many "German" restaurants and were disappointed. Not with Steinhuas Keller. It was great! The Spätzle was perfect and we've never found that in a restaurant before. The pork Jägerschnitzel was perfect as well. There was a woman playing violin there that was very good and added to the evening. I'll definitely be back there next time I'm in Hot Springs!!
We waited over an hour in and half to get our food. No one checked on us to let us know the food would take a long. We got our waitress’s attention after an hour and fifteen minutes and she let us know it would be another 15 minutes. We had tickets to a show that was starting 30 minutes from the time we asked. After waiting another 15 minutes, my husband went to talk to the hostess who was so rude and told him that it’s normal to wait that long and that this is a European restaurant. My husband’s parents are from Germany and he let her know that was not a good excuse. When he asked for her name she lied and said was Michelle, we found out later it was Amanda. I can’t quite comment on the quality of the food babies as soon as it arrived we had to throw it in to go bags and rush out. The bill was over $100. We will never go back.
Disappointing experience here, which was sad, given we’d heard good things about it. Unfortunately our server was pretty rude, the food was mediocre and overpriced, and we ended up spending $100 on dinner and drinks for two. Wish we would have spent that much somewhere more enjoyable.
One of our favorite restaurants in arkansas! We will be back. Best beer🙌 our server was outstanding as usual.
Our table was ready early, had drinks, appetizers and dinner within 30 minutes. WOW! Matt, our server, was so pleasant, funny, suggestive of good choices, they even knew it was my birthday because of my Open Door reservation, and I got a piece of German Chocolate cake!!?!?! WOAAAAAAAH! Steinhaus Keller IS THE REASON we come to Hot Springs.
The food at Steinhaus Keller is almost beyond description. Flavors you would never expect weave together into a tapestry that can only be described as transcendent. That may sound like a pretty serious exaggeration, but try the Sauerkraut Cakes (I know, that sounds weird- but trust me) and see if you don't roll your eyes back in ecstasy! The spaetzle is the perfect texture, the cheese sauce tangy and rich. Brussels sprouts not your thing? It may be time to re-assess [plus that might make your Momma happy]! The bread basket is delightful, too- it escaped my earlier mention, but remembering the sauce drizzled on the brussels sprouts- and how we sopped it up with the bread- reminded me. My husband and I struggled to decide which bit of the dinner was our least favorite- we settled on the arugula "garnish" for the Sauerkraut Cakes (though it was fresh and very delicious when dipped in the horseradish sauce)… The German Chocolate Cake was wonderful- but very, very cold and therefore a tiny bit hardened. I would have preferred to skip dessert, maybe, so that the last bite I ate was of one of the rich savories. I just finished my lunch, a feast of leftovers, and I wish I could return to Steinhaus Keller for dinner! The violinist added a subtle touch of romance and sophistication to the evening, as well. I truly cannot say enough good things about this charming restaurant. One hundred stars!
The food was great our server was good. He seemed a bit scattered but he did a good job overall. Our food took a while to come out. So I think any issue was with the kitchen. Others around us seemed to be getting their food in an appropriate amount of time. I have a feeling the issue may have been my Brussel sprouts because mine were not fully cooked. They were still very firm. The food was all very tasty. We enjoyed the ambiance and the staff. Everyone was friendly and seemed happy to be there.
we enjoyed this restaurant very much, even got to speak to the chef. very good food and service.
The food was delicious, service was friendly, courteous, and prompt. Would definitely recommend it
Two birthdays and an anniversary! The food and service were outstanding!
Great place to enjoy better than average Germany fare. Freshly made and ample servings. Will definitely go back.
food was great and waiter was really good , love the choices of beer to choose from
It was all that I ecpected, andout waiter Max was more than outsta ding.
Everything exceeded our expectations!!! We will certainly keep this establishment in mind when we are in the Hot Springs area.
Great place to eat any night of the week....the owner/chef does an excellent job with the food here, I recommend the spaetzel and anything braised.....never had a bad experience and would recommend for any occasion!
The server was very kind and attentive (she wrote happy birthday on my cake plate and cut my lemonade with water because it was too sweet for me). The atmosphere was quiet and comfortable. The food was delicious. Very enjoyable experience for my birthday dinner.
Food is incredible! One of our favorite must-go restaurants in Hot Springs! The German Chocolate cake is a simple MUST!! The bier cheese and pretzel is so incredible too! Highly recommend going to check it out!
