   What a beautiful location and experience. From the ambiance, to the service, to the food...it was ALL amazing!!! It was also our anniversary and they went above with a personalized note and treated us to a free dessert. Highly recommend Steak 48 and will be back soon. Thank you!

   We are frequent visitors to Steak 48. I think it is the top steak house in San Diego at this time. The quality of their food is excellent, preparation is superb, and portions are large and usually sharable. I always have the Caesar salad and we were able to split it 3 ways last night. They plated it separately for each and gave each of us a poached egg but still only charged the usual price which is a hefty $19 but given the size of the salad, it is a deal. As we were celebrating, we had the 48 day aged bone-in prime rib which is one of many of their premier steaks and it was outstanding. My wife had the baked potato with all the fixing's as her main course and still took some home. The corn creme brulee is a heavenly dish that is more like dessert than a side dish. For my main course I had the jumbo stone crab claw which was very expensive, did have a lot of meat, but is my sense that the smaller claws provide sweeter meat. I have been here many times and I can recommend the fish dishes, the pork chop, and the desserts are all amazing but heavy. In general the food here is heavy and it is very easy to overeat. The drinks are all huge, and the martini features 5 ounces of alcohol. It is really 2 drinks not 1. The wine pours are 9 ounces each. Finally the service; we had superb service with Sean and Tyson. Service has always been excellent there as they hire only experienced and engaging waitstaff. Bottom line is this is a terrific restaurant that is pricey, great for special occasions, and you will be treated like royalty.

   What an amazing dinner experience! The attention to detail with regards to service is hard to find in a restaurant these days. Steak 48 does it!

   Steak 48 in Del Mar has the tastiest and best quality food overall of any other high end restaurant in the area. It's a family favorite, from 13 to 84 year olds!

   Shoutout to April who made our experience memorable! Such a sweet and professional waitress!!! She has knowledge equivalent of that of Michelin star. We will come back!!!

   A fabulous restaurant so I don't want to sound picky.....however, when you order 'water, no ice with lemon' and they forget lemon it gets you off on a cautious footing. When they bring bread and no butter, it is not fab. When you ask for S&P and they forget....well you get it. Otherwise the service was very good, and everyone you walk past that works there says good evening or hello and is very friendly. The food was fantastic, however, they really push the heirloom tomato with crab and I would not order it again. The very thickly cut tomato was not ripe, there was a miniscule amount of crab, and honestly....it needed salt. Everything else was cooked to perfection and delicious. For these prices, it is these reasons I cannot give it an 'excellent', but rather just a very very good!

    Update: After my first bad review, I decided to give steak 48 another chance. They seated me late for my reservation when we came to the table they took time to take our drink order. Their shrimp was overcooked and very rubbery. Their calamari was mediocre at best. Their non-alcoholic cocktails coconut lime passionfruit was very bad. The bread is also very greasy. Their Lemon passionfruit non-alcoholic cocktail was actually very good. They overcooked the shrimp beans dish and the calamari and fried shrimp was not very good either. The steaks were not bad. Their warm butter cake dessert was good. After the second experience, I don’t think I’ll be back. I was left thoroughly disappointed.
