Excellent service and food!
This happened Everytime I come here. This place cannot hold the acoutsics. We we're in a separate room for a business lunch which I noted in the rez and they sit a table of 15 youngins who were super loud and rambunctious. Why would you do that knowing we were having a business lunch. The food here is awful and the menu is poorly limiting. Will never come here again.
Went in to Steadfast after doing some Trip Advisor Research. I was supremely satisfied with the quality of the Salmon I ordered. Had thinly sliced and rolled cucumbers, and pickled onions. On top the cucumbers was a decent portion of caviar to accent the salmon.
We dine out quite often and had a voucher for a free entree when you purchase one. We purchased the Chicago dining out passbook donating to A Safe Haven Foundation. This is the first restaurant we cannot wait to return. Everything was amazing.
Good quality food but the service was slow and inattentive. Pleasant place for a quiet brunch.
Their lobster puree is perfect. Highly recommend eating here.
Had a great business lunch. Our waiter was very observant and kind, watching for when there was a lull in the conversation to provide efficient service. The food was very tasty and decently priced.
I ordered a salad w/bacon in it. It consisted of pure fat cut into pieces! When I asked the waiter to remake the dish, they said it was the only kind of bacon on the kitchen! Would not go back to this restaurant. My husband’s burger tasted like it had mustard on it which he hates!
Food not great, menu selection limited. Service ok. Tables on top of each other.
This is rapidly becoming a convenient favourite in the Loop for me. This restaurant offers great cocktails, delicious food and outstanding service, making it an easy go-to location for business lunches.
A very confused menu. None of our entrees were as described. Also, they are extremely proud of some of their “specialties”. Which didn’t seem that special.
Not a good spot for business meal.
Good food and venue. Tables too crowded together to have good conversation.
I have one major complaint - many spots guilty of this - is the shift to 5 Oz wine glasses for the same price as 6 Oz plus. $18 for a short pour 5 Oz Glass just irritates me in a big way.
Overall - good.
Good server - knew his stuff.
Good innovative Menu in the protein segment - the pork chop was really good. The wedge was good.
A bit dark and not to busy on a Weds night.
Got the 5 Course Tasting with Wine Pairing. The food was really superb. Wine was well matched to the courses. The 4th course, cheese course, was simple food art at its finest. Will definitely go back when we are in Chicago again.
Marvelous, inventive dinner with fabulous service. Had the charcuterie which was tasty and unique, the bread basket with selected butters, oils, and pickles, and the roast duck which was unbelievable. Service could not have been any better. Highly recommend this restaurant!
Very noisy and the staff was responsive by ignoring our table.
Brunch food was awesome! Service also great. The only negative was the restrooms were on the second floor so I was unable to use them
Came here with a friend on a Friday night. It wasn’t busy at all and overall a good atmosphere. We shared a few appetizers. The food was amazing! The service was really great as well
Unorganized at arrival.
Seems staff are on their own with no visible management going on. Maybe because it’s a new place but doesn’t seem organized.
Tables very close together so if you are looking for a place to have an even semi private convo you will be disappointed
We went during happy hour just for drinks and appetizers. Quality food.
Old fashion glasses. Service was excellant
Food presentation and flavor were excellent. Did the tasting menu and all was delicious!.Delivery of plates was perfecr. Only negative comment was service. Took a long time to be acknowledged at the door upon arrival despite a fairly empty restaurant. Server seems annoyed to be serving us. Long waits for drinks and food. Bar was rocking so maybe that had san effect-??special private event going on there? Hey
Delicious menu, love the ambience, and very convenient location.
Would you return..yes!
We've been there twice. Once to check it out and most recently before catching a show. Staff was very accomodating insuring we weren't late
The food was absolutely incredible, the drinks were delicious, and the service was really good. It was a little louder than we expected, but other than that, it was fantastic.
My husband and I were looking for a restaurant near Hamilton where we hadn't been before to celebrate our anniversary before going to the show. We were not disappointed with Steadfast. We split a small bread basket and the charcuterie & cheese board which they are known for. We loved every offering in both of those. Then he had the scallops while I had the halibut. Both were different preparations than we had eaten before and we loved them. The scallops had a green curry sauce which had a delicious flavor, but not too spicy for me (of course I had to taste). My halibut had a light breading and yummy flavors all around. We split the mango beignets which were perfect! Our waiter, Luis, was on point.
The only snafu was that we received our small bread with the variety of spreads, then our main course came out. We thought that was a little weird since we were thinking we'd get the charcuterie before our main dish. Luis was surprised when he found this out, but we decided since the restaurant was known for the charcuterie we would have it for dessert. Then since we still had time and a little room, we ordered the beignets as well!
We would love to take our college age boys here sometime because we think they'd enjoy it as well. They also have a tasting menu that we'd love to try, but we felt like we would want to spend more time than what we had.
The food, ambiance, and service were all really good... but, small lunch portions and overpriced. $80 for lunch for two with no alcohol is too much
1st off, a restaurant needs to provide its clientele with restrooms (a onesie across the hall and two flights up doesn't count). Service is fairly clueless. I watched numerous people stand around in the doorway, as more often than not there was no one at the host stand. Our waiter was vague, couldn't explain the menu well, and obviously didn't know much about gourmet dining in general. The 3rd time I asked about my drink order, he literally said "I don't know what's going on back there". You'd be hard pressed to find a bit of pasta in the agnolotti app, which is more like 2 logs of sausage with an underdone poached egg swimming in bland sauce, though the asparagus was good. The halibut was uninspired; the tuna was presented well, but the roe wasn't fresh. Decent espresso. Annoying noise level makes it difficult to converse. Can't recommend considering how many excellent restaurants Chicago has.
A very good Loop lunch option!
Conveniently located in central loop, nice atmosphere and decent food. A little pricey for what is offered and $8 for the ‘artisan bread’ (4 or 5 roles with a few different spreads) is over the top. Fresh baked bread is nice, but not worth that up charge! Also, asked for salad as side and they brought fries - obviously not major, but wasn’t that crowded and the waiter didn’t notice or check back to ask, so attention to detail could be better. Would go back, but may not be my top choice based on better, comparable options in the area.
My friend and I enjoyed very nice salads on a beautiful summer day. I prefer outdoor seating when the weather permits, and this was quite delightful, especially since we were deep in the financial district where such options are not as abundant. We each ordered salmon to top our salad and it was PERFECTLY prepared.
The bread plate was fantastic. It comes with different kinds of butter, which add to the flavor.
Was a little loud and very busy at lunch so a bit slow
No welcome. Left to stand in lobby area for minutes until we showed ourselves in.
Slow delivery of food
Food was good.
Four friends had a really wonderful dinner. We shared severe appetizers and they were all wonderful, but the best, by far, was the caviar. Each dish was prepared with care and attention. This restaurant will not disappoint!
A bit too loud for conversation
We went on a Saturday and it was quiet and basically dead. We did the tasting menu and were surprised by how mediocre some of the food was and how some ideas the chef had were not so great. We had a good laugh at some of the courses. The scallop was very good, as was the cheese course and dessert. None of it blew our minds.
