State of Grace
The food and service was great !
The oysters were exquisite. The ambiance amazing.
As always the service & staff were fabulous. The restaurant was setup in a manner to accommodate social distancing and the staff all wore face masks. We opened a dialog with our server as to what they also expected from us to help make them feel more comfortable...its a crazy time & this actually helped us to understand the new "norm", particularly at this restaurant. I've always loved this place, and my feelings haven't changed. Note: can't remember if required, but make sure to make reservations.
The food was excellent, Paul was a great host for my girlfriends birthday dinner. I highly recommend for a date night.
Great food and excellent service, will repeat for sure
I love the flavors this place creates. Steak is perfect and bread with peaches and cheese don't sound like they go together, but was delicious. Everything created tastes so good and every spice or breading or smoking or sauce seemed to be perfectly created without going overboard. The cocktails are created with the same care and uniqueness. The service is impeccable...friendly food concierge that help you choose dishes the create the best experience for the moment. Attentive and friendly without being smothering and overly chatty. Ambiance is eclectic without trying to hard to be trendy. The music has awesome random songs pieced together that are fun to remember and just adds to an overall perfect dining experience. We go about 2-3 times a year when time allows and have loved it every time. Enjoy.
Anniversary dinner - it was a great time.
The meal was fantastic and the service was excellent. Best meal I've had since restaurants started reopening.
Absolutely amazing oyster happy hour! Great service. I think just about everyone working came by to thank us for coming in now that they are open again. Will return!
Fantastic service. Delicious food. Wanted to try everything but alas that is not physically possible for 2 people. Would definitely come back to try the rest. :)
This was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had! We were greeted with two glasses of champagne by our server Lily for our anniversary. The manager even came up to say hi to us at one point! Food was absolutely amazing and the ambience was spectacular!
Excellent food, service and ambience! It was my girlfriend's birthday and they treated her like royalty. Very classy. I will be back often
Food was too salty and too spiced. Staff was terrific however.
Great drinks, great waiter, Paul and food was amazing. Celebrated my birthday and of all place last, State of Grace was the place that I new would make my day even more special.
Some interesting flavor combinations. Loved the octopus and the blackened tuna. Some appetizers are a little heavy to start with so order wisely. Loved being in the smaller room but had to ask to change to normal height charts so we did not feel like 10 year olds.
Everything was wonderful we had a great time
Went on a Sunday with no idea they did not have their regular menu. If it was just my wife and I we would hav left but was out with a client. Disappointment all around that we have the limited Sunday menu. Apparently we were supposed to be advised but were not. Anyway, to much restaurant competition for me to come back here.
Came here for celebratory brunch for one of my best girlfriends who lives in Houston. It was quaint, and everything was delicious. But what made our ENTIRE experience was our server Dominique. He made outstanding recommendations for apps, drinks, and entrees and desserts! He made the celebration and was by FAR the best server I have had in a LONG time! State of Grace, he’s a keeper!
Please add some gluten free options.
Memorable food and flawless service. Exception value.
Everything superseded my expectations. The server was amazing and thoughtful.
Food was good. The simpler dishes were better. For example the pancakes were amazing.
The more complex dishes felt off. My lox bagel type dish, the bread portion was too flat to pull off the salmon and capers. The ratio of the bread didn’t pair well with the other ingredients.
Always a great experience!
Fantastic dinner experience! Always love State of Grace. Desirae was our waitress and was outstanding. We will be back very soon!!
Loved everything. Redfish was delicious!
Pricey, not my cup of tea
Service was outstanding. Our waiter was available when needed and not overly so. Food was great. For appetizers, we had hush puppies (which were amazing) and crab fingers (very nice). Entrees were scallops (incredible) and pork shank (cut with a fork tender). No complaints at all on service or our meal. This restaurant's only drawback is their dessert menu....too small, not enough variety, unimpressive in every way. We were celebrating our anniversary and neither of us was interested in any of their desserts. Otherwise, a great place!
Everything that it is put up to be "A very special dining experience."
Had an amazing meal with even better service! Great brunch overall.
I have taken out of town friends to State of Grace twice for Sunday brunch and they always love it. The tables are roomy, the service is prompt, friendly and informative, and the food is great. We love the roasted oysters and the hush puppies are out of this world (I have not been, heretofore, a fan of hush puppies). We can hear each other talk in a light, bright, elegant room where no one rushes you. I will definitely be back.
We ordered cocktails and they were good. We had oak grilled oysters and crawfish hushpuppys for appetizers. The oysters were good. The hushpuppys were very good. From this point on the flavors went downhill. For entrees we had Berkshire pork shank and grilled Mahi with grits and brussels sprouts. The pork, Mahi and grits were very bland. The pork was also very plain (it looked like boiled meat with carrots and a little bit of very thin sauce). There was salt on the table but it was very coarse and not well suited to seasoning food after the cooking process and there was no pepper available. For dessert we ordered the blueberry pudding with vanilla basil ice cream. From the description we didn't realize the pudding was actually bread pudding. While we both love bread pudding neither one of us were very impressed with their version however the ice cream was very good. The staff was attentive and the service was great but for the price the complexity of flavors was disappointing.
Wonderful food (starters, main course, dessert, delicious martinis were all very very good and even great expresso) excellent service and knowledgeable server. Every person we encountered working there was friendly, kind, fun and pleasant. Elegant decor without being overly formal. We’re planning to return for sure!
We enjoyed the Oyster Bar portion of the restaurant for the first time, it was busy but the atmosphere was fantastic. The wait staff and Restaurant Manager did there very best to make sure we enjoyed out date and time at there... Ready to go back for another evening. PS, the Oysters were outstanding....
Great food and service. Goose is a fantastic waiter.
I highly recommend State of Grace. The food was amazing!!Our waitress was exceptional!! I recommend the seafood tower for an appetizer. For dessert we had the blueberry pudding cake it was so good!
We enjoyed our dinner and the service was good. But the duck carnitas came out burned and i strongly suspect that the meat was chicken. The strip mall location was also a bit disappointing.
The service was absolutely impeccable. It was a wonderful first experience.
My favorite restaurant In Houston because of the food, stellar service and great ambiance.
We enjoyed our Mahi Mahi and redfish on the half shell. The blueberry pudding cake and chocolate creme brule were both delicious.
