Redfish was delicious. Fresh oysters hit the spot too.
i never EVER leave reviews for restaurants but oh my god. this place is absolutely phenomenal. everything we ate was divine (we got the pansotti, the fried eggplant and hushpuppies). the service was immaculate and the cocktails were literally some of the best i’ve ever had. one of the greatest dining experiences ever, and honestly very reasonably priced. will definitely be returning:)
Service was excellent. Management ensured our experience was great. Was surprised at number of large parties though with coronavirus cases going up. Didn’t feel entirely safe sitting right next to such a large group. One had 6 and another had 8-10. Food and drinks were excellent and ginger cookies upon leaving were the perfect ending!
Great service. Great value on the wine list. Steaks are delicious.
My son’s 22nd birthday. Team went out of their way to accommodate, which was appreciated
Excelent service and food.
Awesome place with great food and service
Dining out with sister and parents.
Food and service exceeded our expectations. I recommend the duck confit!
The food was delicious and the service was perfect.
Very nice birthday dinner. Restaurant and staff were all very conscientious with distance and masks.
This is our favorite place in Houston!! First timers for brunch on Sunday. We came here for brunch on November 15th for our anniversary, and as soon as we were seated our server Christopher brought us champagne and wished us a happy anniversary! For special occasions, we never expect the restaurant to do anything special but when they do we are thrilled. Christopher was exemplary throughout our entire meal, he was personable and took great care to ensure everything met our expectations.. The manager checked on us, and we noticed he was always attentive to tables as well. We ordered the deviled eggs, cinnamon roll, pork belly benedict, and the chicken fried chicken with a side of bacon. Divine!! I also get pretty nervous dining out with the pandemic still prevalent, but I felt SUPER safe with the efforts they took to space out the seating. It felt clean and I was comfortable the entire time.
It was absolutely perfect! Food was amazing and the waitstaff was great. Will definitely be back! BTW the sticky toffee pudding is a must!
First time back to one of my favorite restaurants. The hushpuppies are still spectacular. The snapper was a special dish that exploded with flavor. Looking forward to next meal there.
The ambience, menu and customer service were outstanding. We went for our anniversary and it could not have been better. The food has a seasonal flare to it. The black rice was unbelievable. Whether a casual dinner with friend or a significant event, this is a great place for you.
Food was outstanding and the staff was excellent. Gustavo was our server and he was great!
Great food, great service
Outstanding entrees and excellent service- our server was Gustavo (“Goose”) who answered our questions and assisted with a great evening!
Incredible sommelier, special wines, fantastic menu and worthy desserts
My second visit here, Goose took great care of us. High quality food, consistently good service. We skipped apps and just had a main course & dessert. The Pork Collar and Flounder were both excellent, but next time I'm in I will probably order fish as well.
Food wasn't as good as i remembered. It was a party of 6 and everyone was a bit dissapointed.
It was great as always!
The staff made our special night.
This the second year we have had our anniversary dinner. Great suggestions from the staff on which oysters to try. Wife loved the octopus and her eggplant. And the steak was phenomenal.
We drive all the way in from Katy for a meal here. The food and service are great! Try the deviled eggs
Christopher our server was the absolute best. Great recommendations, and service. Did an oyster tour!
This is our favorite restaurant in Houston
Oh my! I didn’t want to leave- everything was so good and the staff was so attentive and fun! I had the Pansotti. My husband had the Tuna, and son had the Hearth Roasted Octopus. We all shared the roasted root veggies and Szechuan Eggplant. The most surprising taste was the Octopus- I am usually not a fan, but it was delicious. The flavor was Smokey and the meat was so tender - I usually don’t care for octopus- usually not prepared well and rubbery. This chef knows what he is doing!! My Pansotti was pasta dreams are made of and how cravings start. The tuna was tender, cooked perfectly and generous in portion. The flavor complemented the fish perfectly- it allowed the flavor of the tuna to shine - not cover it up. The roasted veggies were wonderful - but the brag goes to the eggplant! A little spicy with a slight heat buzz, crispy and delicate with a sauce that complimented perfectly. For Dessert (how could we stop?) we ordered the smoked chocolate sundae. It was like a s’more and sundae combined. The marshmallow was toasted on the side, lots of chocolate, ice cream middle and brownie at the bottom. I rolled out the door tummy stuffed and tastebuds satisfied. I appreciate the weekday hours during covid. Those who work late until 7 can still have a fantastic meal experience with closing at 9. Can’t wait until our next visit.
I love this place and make an excuse to stop there when we pass through Houston!
Run home was great and Cody or Colby or server was awesome
Fantastic flavors, service and setting. From the salad with many unique flavors to the black rice side dish, every detail was fantastic. Wife had the swordfish with olive tapenade while I took Michael’s recommendation and had the whole redfish. I was floored by the flavors and happy I took his recommendation. With fewer tables due to COVID service was top-notch but I imagine it would be the same with a full house. We were even given cookies on our way out. We will definitely be back. Do not hesitate to support this terrific spot.
The food was delicious and the service was spectacular. Will be returning for another great dining experience.
Absolutely wonderful! 5 stars and nothing less! Excellent service! Very nice menu! Can’t wait to come back! Thanks again!
We think Jade is amazing. Great at his job!
Bobby Matos continues to deliver with his delicious and creative food. We are big fans of SoG for brunch, but we have started opting for dinner instead. The rolls, Iberico Collar, Szechuan Eggplant, and the cocktails were the all stars this most recent visit.
We can’t say enough good things about this charming neighborhood establishment. Rustic sophistication defined. Hearty dishes that always please. We had move away for a few years and yesterday was our first time back since our return. The swordfish is now prepared medallion style with an olive topping that is absolutely mouthwatering. Dominique provides excellent service! We’ll definitely be asking for him on our next visit!
we had a great time
Food was excellent. Service was exemplary. Our server was knowledgeable and helpful and even brought us champagne on the house to help us celebrate our countdown to marriage.
