   There were three miscues between kitchen and wait staff on our dinner. Appetizers came with entrees and entree came as appetizer. Entrees were lukewarm. They recognized the mistakes and comped two of the ordered items and desserts. Expect better.

   This is my favorite restaurant—we live in Chicago where the restaurants are outstanding, but everytime we visit family in Houston I HAVE to come here. Everyone knows this is my happy place. The wonderful service, gorgeous ambiance, superb food and the sweet little take home cookies after every dinner just fill me with happiness. Please open a restaurant in Chicago 🙏

   The change in menu was a surprise and when you have been open for 9 years…it was good but the menu needs to add back some of the house favorites back.

   We settled for our normal Sunday brunch at SOG. We ordered the crab beignets and devil eggs for starters. They were awesome! The crab beignets we hot and balanced and seasoned with flavor, and touch powdered sugar! The devil eggs were tasteful, with a heavy hint of mustard, but fresh creamy. Then we had the griddle cakes! Superb fluffy and the cane syrup was light and sweet but not sugary! Finally the lobster roll and steak frites.. both of these entrees failed! The steak was chewy and no seasoned, but the fries were good. The lobster was fresh but roll was was hard and the salad appeared to just be lettuce tossed in a bowl! I recommend a visit, but you must be mindful about your choices, not every menu item is prepared equally.

    Our service was phenomenal, but unfortunately, the food was not memorable. Something about the flavor was slightly off, but the cocktails were also great.
