State of Grace
Great food and service. Goose is a fantastic waiter.
I highly recommend State of Grace. The food was amazing!!Our waitress was exceptional!! I recommend the seafood tower for an appetizer. For dessert we had the blueberry pudding cake it was so good!
The service was absolutely impeccable. It was a wonderful first experience.
My favorite restaurant In Houston because of the food, stellar service and great ambiance.
We enjoyed our Mahi Mahi and redfish on the half shell. The blueberry pudding cake and chocolate creme brule were both delicious.
Our waiter was amazing, so professional and attentive.
We found the food to be very salty unfortunately but it’s such a nice restaurant that we’ll probably give it a second try.
Our Server, Danielle was very polite, friendly and could recommend dishes on the menu with ease. We were there for brunch which the food choices were all amazing. We enjoyed ourselves so much cause Danielle made it so inviting, that we continued to order more food and drinks. The manager Andrew was so nice and accommodating. Ambiance is very inviting and great for brunch, family gathering, date night or recommended first date.
Sunday Brunch is excellent.
Everything we ordered was delicious - hushpuppies, beignets, cinnamon dunkers, steak, pancakes and surprisingly the fried green tomato Benedict.
Everything was amazing!! Great food and those drinks were perfect.
Very warm and friendly environment and great staff.
Biscuit ham and the jelly was good. Standard oak oyster was marvelous, but the entree was mediocre at best. The service and environment was fabulous!!!!
Went for Valentine’s Day and tried the fixed price menu. The food was amazing, the service was quick and attentive. Will definitely come back!
Always an enjoyable experience from the moment you step in the front door. Some of the best dishes in Houston and by far the best hospitality and environment. We are regulars.
State of Grace is, flatly, my favorite restaurant I have ever been too. How fortunate I am to live in the same city as that place. The food is phenomenal and the cocktails are great but the service staff is by far and away what makes the experience sublime. My girlfriend and I have gone about half a dozen times over the last 3 years and they always remember our dietary restrictions and go the extra mile to make your experience memorable. I truly cannot speak highly enough of this place.
Beautiful inside. Overpriced for what you get. Made the mistake of going on Valentine's. Cramped into a tiny room with other tiny tables also filled by couples. Most of the food was good. A lot was either overcooked and rubber. I really wanted to like this place. Quality shouldn't go down because of a holiday.
This place never lets us down! Valentines menu was great, although the standard menu is phenomenal!! Cocktails are always on point, my fav is the Antique! Andy was our server, and he was AMAZING. Highly attentive, swift, and made us feel like we were the only ones in the restaurant during the busy evening. Please give him high regards to his excellent service. We will be back soon.
Went for the first time for valentines, they only had a select menu but no wine pairing. The waitstaff was knowledge about the special menu to suggest wine specific to our choices of food. Everything was excellent. Valentines dinners tend to be crowded and rushed, State of Grace did the exact opposite it was cozy and service was prompt but not rushed.
Came for the Oyster Happy Hour. Excellent and the ambiance even during the day is wonderful.
Fantastic evening! Would highly recommend State of Grace!!!
Nichole was the best server I have had in a long time! She dealt with a difficult table near us with grace. She really was amazing. Great asset.
Mitchell was our server and he was fantastic! Everything was great - service, food, atmosphere. Couldn’t have been a better place for an early Valentines Day dinner!
Fantastic food and service as always. Great job Matt Crawford and team!
My husband and I celebrated Valentines a little early this week at State of Grace. I tried their new cocktail forgot the exact name but it was something SNOW. Had vanilla and chai flavors, sweet but not overly sweet. We started with the small tower of oysters, crab legs, and shrimp with various sauces. Very good and filling. Perfect for a party of 2 to share. I did have a piece of bread and the butter was so amazing. We also shared a wedge salad, crips and fresh. Our main entree was the ribeye and it was amazing. Lots of food, delicious food. Our server Jade was attentive to refill any empty water glasses. We ended the night with a dessert. I chose the strawberry cake w white chocolate shavings. The regular coffee was burnt, but they were kind enough to make a new brew. Big difference. Wonderful experience and definitely will bring all of our friends and out of town guests to this place. A true gem in Texas.
On Sunday nights they have a fixed menu with five entrée choices that are based on that chefs choices. I am definitely going back in a few Sundays
Amazing food and service. Was there earlier in the week with girlfriends for a birthday and it was so good decided to have brunch with another set of friends to celebrate my husband’s birthday and I’m so glad we did!!
I love the atmosphere at State of Grace. You really feel that you are somewhere special from the moment you are greeted and shown to your table until you depart with a goodbye cookie in your hand. Our waiter was attentive and answered our questions and made sure to check back to make sure everything was fine. Drinks were excellent and our entrées were delicious. Can't wait until our next visit.
Truly one of the best meals I have ever had and Carl, our server made a wonderful experience an exceptional one!
Nothing but great things to say about the food, service and atmosphere.
Excellent oysters and entre. Our server, Andrew did a great job!!
Amazing as always. We shared the Shrimp “A La Plancha” and it was very good. I had the lobster roll and it was great as always!
Everything was delicious, well served and perfect birthday lunch for our daughter!
We reserved a table through Open Table for a business lunch meeting. In the reservation I noted it was a business lunch meeting, and requested a table where we could visit. State of Grace listened to me! We had a terrific table where conversation was easy. Our waiter Goose did a great job. The food was wonderful as well. We will be back.
The food is always tasty and flavorful. They always add new items and utilize the freshest items to create an amazing meal. One of our favorite places in Houston.
Love the ginger snaps to go.
Great food. Great ambiance. A bit loud. It was one of our friends birthdays and there we no acknowledgement. A bit disappointed in that. Overall a good experience though
We arrived early for our reservation not expecting to be seated early or anything. We thought we’d just have a drink or such while we waited. There happened to be two seats at the oyster bar. So ordered drinks and oysters. Not sure where the mis-connect was but the guys preparing the oysters must not have gotten our oyster order as they were just chatting as if waiting for an order, where they had been furiously working and preparing someone’s order just previously. As soon as we mentioned the delay to our waitress, she blamed it on the “system” and when she went to the terminal the guys almost immediately started working on our order. The oysters were great! I could have eaten twice as many.
The hostess arrived at the bar to take us to our table night on time. Noting here I always request no booth w our reservation. We walked past two empty regular tables and were taken to a corner booth. I went ahead and sat down but the table top then was at my chest the seating was so low. We asked about the tables and they said they were taken. We asked about this level and they said they’d had several comments about it. Well then it seems like perhaps it needs to be addressed? Fortunately there were two seats at the end of the main bar. We took those instead of this corner booth. Fabulous seats actually. I think I’ll see about requesting those seats in the future. The hostess checked on us several times after reseating us. I appreciate the follow up. The food as always was terrific. Please State of Grace fix the seating in that corner booth and please respect the request for no booth seating when asked. We will be back as we love the food. However, we may just stick to the main bar when it’s just the two of us. Ashley behind the bar waited on us this time and she was lovely! She even served us complimentary port to finish our meal.
The food was phenomenal the service impeccable and overall everything I expected.
Wonderful decor, fabulous food, and perfect service. Katie's charm and. Attentive service made this an awesome birthday dinner experience for my friends.
The delicious flavors of the food served still linger on my palate 2 days later. I love to order fish when I eat out--the redfish in brown butter sauce was so flavorful. The biscuits and marmalade are mouthwatering and the sides are simply yummy. I loved the decor and the large booth benches. My one complaint is that a large party of 20 people arrived about 30-45 minutes after we started our meal. They were seated in the center of the room while couples and small groups of other clientele were seated along the periphery. This dampened the intimacy for us smaller groups and also created quite a bit of noise. But, I will definitely return for Sunday Supper. Too scrumptious to pass up!
