    It had been many years since our last visit to State Bird, but we fondly remembered their signature namesake dish, excellent deep-fried quarters of tasty quail with a distinctive sauce. So at our 5:30 reservation tonight, the first thing we did was place a double order of State Bird quail. Years ago, the quail dish came just minutes after we ordered it, while we were also enjoying the *dim sum” style procession of excellent other dishes. But things have changed. We had to wait until 6:40 pm before we finally got the bird sections. An hour and ten minutes after ordering. Why? Because they clearly want you to order as many other dishes before you get your quail dish to maximize your wine consumption and your check. Good food. Yes. But the overall experience… off-putting. Especially since I wasn't planning on quail for dessert.

    Amazing!!! The caviar and potatoes, trout dip & chips, the scallops, the quail, etc!! Excellent!! And such a VIBE!! Whoever is in charge of their music playlist, thank you!! Love it
