   The “dim sum” service was great. We really liked the dishes. Green garlic pancakes were great. Shrimp dumplings had so many interesting flavors. Pickled mushrooms were also wonderful. A wonderful treat

   I very much enjoyed the fun of the dim sum style service. The food was all tasty. My criticism: felt like small quantities of food for the price. We were encouraged to enjoy everything family style, but...would you serve a family of four a tiny plate with four asparagus stems?

   This place is very special. The small plates concept is executed so exceptionally well. Every dish hit the nail on the head. The service is impeccable, and very intelligent. Dining at this level is getting harder and harder to find.

   A creative and delightful approach to dining. I’ve always heard great things, but this was absolutely wonderful. The flavors kept me coming back for more. If it wasn’t for me getting full I would’ve ordered seconds of everything. My favorites were the trout dip, wagyu toast, and the savory mochi.

   Buzzy restaurant with a dim sum parlor style of service. All the food was excellent, except for the lemongrass and ginger granita with tapioca. Should have read the fine print! Front of house was a bit haughty that we arrived 10 minutes late as they have a strict 2-hour seating policy. Whatever!

   If you enjoy Michelin stared food, but don't want the hoity-toity attitude and prices? State Bird has that for you in spades! Everything from the approachable menu, staff, and dress code will have you wanting more and more. This was my second experience here, but this time they had their 'dim sum' service available. Sit down, say yes to every morsel, shut up, and eat.

    We were all deeply impressed with the excecution of each dish! Nothing in the chef's imagination could have prepared us with the pairings/combinations of ingredients and flavor profiles. A truly immerssive and impressive eatery. The vibe of the staff is lovely and the room too! But you go for the food. #worththewait

    Fun. Enjoyed watching the many choices roll by. Vegetables particularly scrumptious. Before the computer meltdown impossible to get reservations. Now easy. The city is improving as it resets. Practically no broken people camping.

    It was a bit loud but good overall hip ambiance. I felt rushed. The service could have been better and server could have been more informed with regard to food items and ingredients. Food needed more salt / seasoning. Some items were bland. Fun dim sum style options. No upsell to coffee, after dinner drinks. Tables are on a time limit so maybe that is why. Hence, I felt rushed.

    My first time back since the month they opened and the food was as good as I remembered. Simple, letting the beautiful product do the talking. The service was above and beyond. I have weird dietary restrictions and they gave me a menu with all the dishes marked as ok, ok with changes, or not ok. Every server and food runner knew about my issues and looked out for me. Everyone was friendly and obviously well-trained. This is an impressive group of professionals. I can't wait to go back.

    The food was good, but the service should be better, the food took a long time to be served and some dishes were wrong, I was expecting more of this restaurant since it has a michelin star.

    We went for our anniversary. The waiter hit on my boyfriend the whole time which was annoying and rude. The food was okay. Nothing memorable. We didn’t even get a treat being it was our anniversary- but the table in front of us got a free dessert. I really didn’t enjoy myself.

    The entire experience was superb. I brought my own bottle of Gosset Champagne and the corkage fee was only $30. All together the whole meal cost me around $200 for two people. I highly recommend the State Bird Provisions!

    We tried so many dishes. Don’t miss the shaved beef toast or the cheddar pancakes. Theses were our favorites along with the roasted beets and the tofu custard and of course the state bird. Menu items change so these may or may not be available when you go. Good wine list. The peanut milk is also a must have. The other desserts were just okay and missable - maybe we were full but I’m a chocolate lover and the cocoa and chocolate flavors could have been stronger in the two chocolate desserts we ordered. Nice range of wine and sake and efficient yet attentive service. It s an experience and worth it!

    We have not been to SBP in a while and were delighted to find that they have not skipped a beat. The meal, service and selections were stellar. The servers could not have been nicer and the evening was better for it.

    We arrived at 5:30 and got in line outside for our 5:30 reservation and probably got seated about 5:40. Then we watched the carts go by and stop at other tables and drop off food but we didn't get a cart stop until about 6:00. Just as a reference the two top immediately next to us had two carts stop by and drop food off and they were seated maybe 5' after we were. Now that in and of itself is not that big a deal and we were fine with it. The issue was that at about 7:15 we ordered dessert (so only 75 minutes after our first available chance to eat. Then we asked a waitperson if we could order a glass of dessert wine to split. They gave us a very odd look and said "well, we are fully booked" as if we were overstaying our welcome. Again, our res was 5:30 and we were there for it, but between delay in seating us and having a cart come by we really only had the table for a little over an hour. There was an awkward silence because we were kind of shocked. My dinner partner then said "well, we just ordered dessert" and the waitperson said "okay, what do you want" (again in an odd way). We ended up getting our dessert and wine and then paying and leaving shortly after. There was also several open tables around us as this transpired. I hesitated to even write this review because every other server was incredibly nice and welcoming and the food was very good. But it was just an unpleasant ending to an otherwise pleasurable dining experience.

    Been wanting to eat here for years and we were worried the restaurant might be past it's prime, definitely pleasantly surprised! It was a great experience!! The food was really good and we loved the concept of being able to try a lot of small dishes. Everything tested great and the staff was wonderful.

    Fabulous experience! The servers bring around small plates on carts (like dim sum) and you can decide what to eat. You then also order items from a menu. The balance of flavors and textures was incredible. It was a really enjoyable meal. It’s noisy, but you can still hear the people at your table. I highly recommend and would definitely go back.

    Second time visiting this restaurant and it's always such a treat! If you like to try multiple different dishes full of interesting and creative flavors, this is the spot for you. This is not your traditional sit down meal, so be prepared for that. Service is great, even when the restaurant is crowded. If you can snag a reservation, do it! You won't be disappointed.

    Great food and service. But super loud and a bit cramped. And yet they still blare music? (My pet peeve. But it doesn’t appear that any diners listen to the music. It’s for the servers. But it makes conversation difficult)

    Friendly and attentive servers. Food was meh… we really liked the steak, roasted beets and peanut shot. Did not like the chili egg tofu dish… it was bland. Did not like the fish and potato chip appetizer, it tasted like trout blended in mayonnaise. The oysters would have been better without the radish slaw. Meh. Won’t be going back.

    Wonderful food, very creative and unique. Loved the dim sum style of service . Really loud- very difficult to hear your party and the servers. Food is so delicious we would still come back again and again. Really loved the parsnip mochi and the trout dip. Ice cream sandwich was also excellent
