Way too noisy. Music volume was way too high. Nothing to absorb sound. Impossible to have a conversation. Almost had ear trauma after leaving the restaurant. It is a shame, because otherwise it is a really good restaurant. One other minor thing: the sauce on the oyster was too overpowering.

One of the better dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. So much fun. The dim sum carts were tremendous surprises, every little dish (and big), were better than the next. Excited to return often.

I was celebrating my birthday and they were kind about it. I was given a menu that had balloons on it and felt quite celebratory without having all the attention drawn to me. Thank you for a sweet celebration! The yummy food was the icing on the cake, pun intended!

This place a San Francisco staple and after visiting I can clearly see why! The service was the highlight, and their dim sum approach was incredible, allowing us to try several different dishes without having to order several full sized dishes. I will definitely be coming back!

Service was very casual and slow, particularly with bringing the drinks to the table. The focus is on the circling "dim sum" plates (they absolutely prefer you take a lot of them instead of ordering from the small regular menu). Nothing was particularly tasty, and some dishes were just unbalanced. A fig toast had beautiful, but absolutely tasteless figs. A wagyu toast (30$, mind you) had a thin slice of wagyu and was smothered with mustard to the point you couldn't feel the quality meat. A Wonton (one of the dim sum circling dishes) had thick, chewy dough, a flavorless filling, and awesome sauce. The signature dish - the fried quail, was dry. A dish of liver pate tasted sour, and the server's excuse was that it was due to an addition of hot sauce. Service were so lazy that they didn't even bother to ask if something was wrong when they saw a dish that was left half-eaten. They definitely did not care when we stopped ordering after less than an hour and asked for the bill without even looking at desserts. But hey, they stamped our >270$ bill with a stamp that said "happy anniversary".

Enjoyed the dim-sum service, the food was delicious, and the service was great. The music was much too loud! We weren't able to easily converse during dinner or hear what the servers were saying about the food.

Came here for my boyfriend’s birthday and we were very pleased. The food was exquisite and as someone with a fish allergy, they were very accommodating and careful. We plan to come here more often and highly recommend this place if you’re looking for amazing food with wonderful service.

This is one of those restaurant experiences where being open-mined and adventurous pays off in spades. The culinary creativity here is unmatched and the staff takes pains to make sure that everyone feels comfortable trying new things. And of course, every single item is delicious beyond words. 10/10.

A bit disappointed on the food. Mostly underwhelming. We recently moved back to the Bay Area, and it use to be our favorite place to go. Food is not what it use to be, the "fusion" was a bit confusing and chaotic, not complimentary.

An amazing spot for special occasions - I enjoyed being able to taste so many creative, delicious plates. Knowing that the menu changes often, I am already planning on booking a reservation for the next time a special birthday, anniversary, or friend/parent visit comes up! Ended up trying 6 of the small plates that were presented to us, 2 of the main plates, and thankfully left room for dessert (cause YUM - one of the best desserts I've ever had) - was the perfect amount of food for 2 people to split! The food plus wine was not a cheap meal, but the quality of ingredients, exciting flavors, and beautiful plating was worth it.

A fun concept for dining. Had a couple of service bumps like not getting our wine order until after two plates had hit our table and one of our mains got missed and brought after all others. Felt like we had to look for our server a couple of times. Rushed at the end. But the food was incredible. Best oyster appie, best dumpling ever with great broth. Rice gnocchi - VG. Dim sum plates shone over commendables. Overall - memorable for the food.

It had been years since I went. A couple dishes were great, pork belly was my favorite but 3 dishes were a bit heavy handed with salt. Our server was awesome.

We’ve been to SBP many times - strangely this time our waiter was disconcertingly unfriendly, while almost everyone else we met was either friendly or incredibly friendly. Chalk it up to a bad night for him? Otherwise food was delicious as usual, and we were seated at a cute private booth.

Excellent food. They have items you can order on the menu, but also items coming around on a trolley, Yumchaa style (not Asian food just the trolley concept). It is very hip, modern and fast paced. They have it down to a well oiled hipster machine! The food is outstanding and can’t really be faulted. The only things I didn’t love were sitting right next to other customers, no cocktails on the menu (with wine at cocktail prices) and very noisy. But if you are after a modern vibe with outstanding left of centre food this place can’t be beaten. I would definitely recommend this place but be sure it’s what you want because it’s not your regular place and you do pay extra for it.

Hog Island Oysters were a nice start for us. Chilled and not overpowering sea flavor.Just right with a flavorful topping. The pork belly salad was good with succulent meat and a layer of crispiness too. House specialty state bird was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. We liked the red trout as it was also crispy skin and the fillet was not overcooked. We enjoyed the halibut crudo, so savory and lite. Both desserts we had were unique, very tasty, not to heavy but just the right amount to end the dinner. The apple tart and the chocolate mouse cookie(Maybe I am not calling them the right name but it will be easy to see what I am referring to on the menu.The service was complete, dining area was clean, staff was friendly and knew their menu and also check out the artistic expressions on the wall hangings. Kudos to the chef and all the staff.

Eclectic and entertaining, thoroughly enjoyed waiting round after round of of off-menu culinary surprises and eclectic treats coming around brought by the staff in a dim-sum style. We tried oysters goose liver mousse and almondines Garlic bread with burrata Quail dumpling Trout fish sticks Summer Cucumber with feta Melon with crème fraiche Fried Pork belly Entrees we had the beef and the fish both were excellent ! Highly recommend and look forward to returning
