For a mostly empty restaurant the service was horrible. The waitress was no where to be found.
They did an amazing job. Very friendly to our kids and excellent food
The service was impeccable!
Had the elk chop. It was really great.
Service person was great. Thanks for your friendly and efficient service.
Great friendly and professional service. Manager came by twice on a busy night. Entrees were served hot, unlike too many places that serve lukewarm food. Bison was delicious.
It was freezing that night and they couldn't keep the door to the patio closed. Food was okay, but nothing special. Very pricey. Too much activity and noise. Not returning.
I enjoyed my second visit. It is a excellent choice. We had an 8p reservation and we early. They were very polite and offered a bar seat. We were seated at our table early. Service was great. Excellent food. Excellent choice of food. I would highly recommend again
Excellent service and food. Elk Chop perfect! Pressed chicken moist and cooked perfectly. Don't miss Brussel Sprouts.
Excellent main courses of Colorado lamb chop and elk. Good value as main dishes were big and come with a side. Was too full to try dessert. Will definitely go back.
Great dinner! Service was amazing. Thank you!
Great meal with friends. Service was good and very attentive.
The atmosphere is very cool and the food was outstanding. The elk appetizer and the lamb chops were the best we have ever had. Definitely a place not to miss when in Snowmass.
Cold soup. Slow service. Terrible food. Blacklisted.
] made reservations here for Valentines Day with my husband. We arrived early and were seated in the lounge area, which was nice - and the manager got our drink order. We were seated about 30 minutes later, 15 minutes after our reservation time. No big deal, and the comfy dining room chairs were a nice spot to take in the room, as well as the private dining room just beyond. Our server was also taking care of that room, and we watched him hustle the whole time. The service impact was noticeable, but not nearly as frustrating as the 12-person party immediately behind us. Six kids between the ages of probably 4-8 were at the closer end of the long table, and they used their “outside voices” the entire time. It was deafening, and the adults at the other end were oblivious. We love kids, and have been in large groups with ours before. The decibel level was controllable - but wasn’t. I know that’s not on the restaurant, but between the slow, unfocused service and the headache-inducing noise level, we actually discussed what we would say on Open Table as we walked out. I’d recommend trying this place on a non-holiday, non-weekend night. We won’t be back, though. Too many other choices.
Went for Valentines Day. Food and Ambiance was great. Waitress was very good. Had a nice time.
Mediocre food served by an uninterested server.
It was ok, but there could have been more seasoning on some of the food.
Excellent service and food is delicious
Very comfortable dining experience. Warm with a beautiful fire place. They gave us back room. I’m vegan and not a ton of options but all seemed to enjoy the meal.
Lovely find on a relatively quiet Monday in Snowmass after the New Year. The food was delicious. The Osso Bucco was perfect! The staff was attentive to not only their tables/section but to the entire restaurant. The only thing I would suggest...please limit the use of tablets/ipads for children if there are no headphones/ear buds. It turned a lovely dinner into a loud, ridiculous, chaotic mess because the parents were too busy watching their own videos.
Phenomenal food and great service, would recommend. A little pricey, but that is to be expected in the area. And is worth it for the quality.
Vacation dinner on New Years
Elk medallions, calamari, elk chop and rack of lamb were all fantastic. Great wine list as well.
Fantastic evening with my family at State 38. Food was exceptional and service was excellent. Shout out to Peter who even helped us track down our hotel concierge to get a ride back to the Westin!
Atmosphere was great and our waiter was so kind and helpful with ski tips. The food was pretty good.
It started with us being turned away because we were 20 mins early. No problem. However, there was no invitation to sit inside at the bar, much less the building. We went outside in the roughly 10 degree weather and waited 20 mins before returning. When we approached the girl at the desk, she appeared to have no clue we attempted to check in 20 mins ago. Strange. Anyway, we were then promptly seated. The waiter took our order and we waited... and waited... I did order a salad which came out in a routine amount of time. But that was it. Everything else took what seemed like 45 mins. Was likely closer to 30, but when you have a hungry family of only 4 to feed, that’s too long. When our food arrived, my son’s medium rare burger was literally raw meat in the center. Not just a layer, but throughout the thickness of the burger. The Brussels sprouts were charred on the outside and raw in the middle. A pattern here, right? It seems despite waiting 40 mins or so they rushed through our meal prep. Sorry, but for a $200 meal, that is inexcusable.
I thought the restaurant was quite average and was disappointed overall. It is earlier in the ski/snowboard season, so maybe the kitchen and staff just aren’t up to full speed yet. On arrival (with the reservation) we were told that the table wasn’t ready yet and that we could sit in a small waiting area. I went to get a drink from the bar and couldn’t get the attention of the bartender who was busy cleaning things up behind the bar and wouldn’t give me the time of day. After 2 minutes or so, my wife grabbed me and said our table was ready, so I left without a drink. The service was acceptable, though the wait for the food was far too long. The appetizers took at least 40 minutes to come out and then the meals came too quickly after that - maybe 15 minutes. My wife had assorted appetizers to eat and was fine with them, no great shakes. My daughter ordered the burger and thought it was fine - though how hard is it to make a decent burger. My son had crab cakes and lamb chops. He greatly enjoyed both and they looked delicious. I had the elk medallion appetizer, which was smothered and overpowered by a blueberry reduction which was overly sweet and did not add to the dish. I had the bison osso bucco. The meat was over cooked and was not remotely falling off the bone. As we had been traveling from NY to Snowmass all day and were dog tired and had now waited forever for the meal, I just dealt with it rather than sending it back. It was greatly disappointing to have bison be so tough. As it is a leaner meat than normal beef, it typically is easy(ier) to overcook, and it was tough. I would not likely return to this restaurant.
We were at state 38with our 2 kids on christmas. Food was excellent, kids meals were great. Staff and service were amazing. I would go again!!
Food was good, but not great for the price. Seafood tower started out strong, but the main courses were a little bit of a let down. Steak, duck, pork chop all had the same problem. They lacked flavor that we were all used to with this type of menu. Wait staff was friendly and helpful, but it was obvious they had just started. We have two celiac members in the family and gluten free was not much of an option. They did not offer up any options to modify the main courses that had gluten included. Tough review, but with so many really good options around Aspen, this is just where we are.
Went here for a date night. Spilt the crab cakes (some of the best i've had!) for an appetizer. I had the duck for dinner which was amazing and my date had the ribeye which was cooked perfectly. Our server was very knowledgeable about which wine to pair with our meals. Will be back!
Kind services and exceptional cuisine. The Bison Osso Bucco was delicious and the Zucchini Pasta was too! Will be back for more!
Waiter was confused by the drink order. Brought the wrong appetizers. Mixed up the entrees for each person and totally messed up the delivery. It was hilarious for our table.
Good food and cocktails.
We enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch on the patio at this delightful restaurant close to our hotel in Base Camp. We started with the french onion soup and calamari; both were so tasty and cooked to perfection. For our entrees, my husband enjoyed the beet salad, while I devoured the scrumptious lump crab salad. Just can't say enough about the delicious food and excellent service.
We had lunch on the patio over Labor Day weekend. Everything was excellent.
Terrible food and service - felt like Kitchen Nightmares there
We had high hopes. Food was good but nothing spectacular. Service was very slow.
Excellent service attended to by friendly owner. Sat outside which was facilitated by fire pits. Highly recommend the cheese plate
We have been to State 38 several times and each time the food was fantastic and the service was awesome!! Will go back often!
