Star Rover Sound is throwing it back to the great American steakhouse, an institution that transcends time and trend. Steak Dinners at Star Rover will offer the complete experience – cut in-house steaks paired with crisp salads and crisper cocktails, bottomless triple-cooked fries and onion rings, fresh-baked dinner rolls, live music, and good times.

Just like the 1970s West Texas steakhouses that Chef/Owner Ford Fry so fondly remembers, guests will be reintroduced to an era when steak dinners weren’t just for special occasions but were an everyday luxury – complete with checkered tablecloths, a candlelit glow, and Sharpies for signing the walls.

Overall very positive experience. Service was very good, and food was excellent. Nice being able to get a nice steak dinner with a more laid back vibe. Also appreciate it actually being a full meal (rolls, salad, steak and fries/onion rings) all part of the meal. Look forward to coming back again.

Myself and spouse absolutely loved Star Rover Sound from the moment we walked in. We came for our anniversary and it was totally perfect for what we wanted. We will be coming back again and again!

Waitress was terrible. Never checked in with us. We ordered a steak and a lobster to share and they gave us one plate with the items stacked. We kept asking for extra plates never got them wouldn’t go back.

Sneaky expensive dinner. Was about $150/person with tax and tip, two drinks per person. Plenty of better food in atmosphere spots in Nashville, especially within a few blocks of this restaurant in Germantown. They have a band that starts at 9 o’clock, if you haven’t paid for your food before 9 o’clock, they charge you a $10 “cover charge”. We didn’t appreciate this. Also, for a place that only cooks steak it was disappointing to have two of the three steaks overcooked. Our server was great, but they only had one guy working the bar making all the drinks so the drinks certainly were not coming out in a timely fashion.

We loved everything from the drinks, salads, and rolls swimming in butter, and the steaks are perfectly cooked to order. The music was Big Kahuna and we loved it! We would definitely come back and listen again and eat up with more friends!

Service was good although they brought us the wrong bill, which was $100 higher than our actual bill. One steak was overcooked so we had to send back. This is our third time dinning at Star Rover and the steaks have all increased in price while also getting smaller. The first time I couldn’t finish my filet it was so large. This time I wanted more it was so small. My husband said his ribeye was way thinner than the previous two he’s had there. With the price increase and inconsistent quality I don’t think we will be back.

Amazing! Absolutely delicious food and great service. The rolls and filet are the most phenomenal part. Love the ambiance of the place. Will be back soon!

The food and cocktails were excellent. No exaggeration: the Star Rover Old Fashioned was the best i've ever had. The filet was cooked to perfection. Portion sizes are consistent with prices. Service was professional and the staff personable.

We have been there a few times and had another very nice experience. I’m the General Manager at the Neuhoff District next to Star Rover so it’s a quick walk for us and I do recommend it to others.
