   I tried to reschedule for several days before my reservation, with no response, and was charged for holding the reservation. Extremely poor customer service from a place that looks like it’s be great at everything.

   I really wanted to like this place, but was a bit disappointed especially since we booked for our anniversary. The place is beautifully designed, but fell short in the areas that matter most. The wagyu steak was chewy/fatty and was not cheap. The vinaigrette dressing on the strawberry salad didn’t taste like vinaigrette (very bland). The best tasting food we ordered was the bread and butter. The service was insanely slow. And the noise was a bit loud. The only thing that was good was the cocktails.

    I have been a few times now and while I absolutely agree in the ambience and the location, unfortunately, I agree with the service and the amount of food you get for the price. It was a little strange for the server to ask us our full order when getting our drinks. It took a very long time to get the appetizers, considering we put the full order in when ordering drinks, and I did notice that they do tend to be shortstaffed. I placed reservations on this app and they have set us for tables larger than what we reserved. Lastly, their desserts. I'm not sure what's going on, but a lemon tart is generally not watery lemon custard in a glass with cookie dust and a meringue on top?? I'm not sure how you're expected to eat a full glass cup of essentially lemon custard with a tablespoon of meringue that doesn't even go with a lemon tart and it's not a tart at all. It is very deceiving, even if it's supposed to be a deconstructed tart. It was a jar of goop

   The waygu steak was overcooked imo. And the scalloped potatoes undercooked.

   We've had cocktails here before and looked forward to booking a birthday dinner for my wife. Clearly a busy Saturday, as we planned. It appeared there was one (?) server for the entire floor. While placing our drink order and an appetizer, the waiter asked if we wanted to place our dinner order. Um, no. This isn't Chipotle, I'm not looking to be out in :20 minutes. Drink order placed, then we waited - and waited. I'm a very patient person - but after :40 minutes of inattention or a check-in, we left. Understaffing may be a problem, but a heads up to set expectations would have been helpful. It's a very nice evening spot, but we'll skip dinner and just visit for cocktails.

   The Star Lounge space is a lovely place to enjoy finely crafted cocktails. During our visit the space was nearly full of customers, which made it quite loud. Our server, Julian, was excellent! He regularly checked in on us without being intrusive. The cocktails are some of the best one can get in the Sacramento region. The food was the biggest disappointment. While the flavors of our Mussels Frites were spot on, there were very few mussels and frites - about 8 or 9 of each. For the price, $18, we were expecting to receive twice as many. The Pot de Creme was rich and chocolatey, but the Creme Brulee was rather bland. Because of the beautiful space and excellent craft cocktails, we will definitely return to Star Lounge. However, we won't be ordering food as the price far exceeds the value one receives.
