The absolute best! Amazing staff, great ambiance, creative wine list and the food was pretty unforgettable. We will be back for sure! Thank you!!
Both the food and atmosphere are absolutely stunning!
Great to be back to restaurant dining at Stage. Small plate food with changing selections very interesting and tasty. Chicken hearts so good we had a second serving. A fruity rich Vancouver Island Pinot Noir available by the glass was a perfect compliment to our selection of dishes. A Pot de Crème to finish required discipline not to eat a second one. Service was efficient and friendly getting us to the theatre well in advance. Looking forward to the next play at The Belfry which will again be preceded by dinner at Stage.
We have been to Stage a number of times over the past couple of years and have had no problem with the menu. However the latest menu seemed to be lacking options and was unsatisfying to share. We enjoyed the cheese and bread. The chicken hearts seemed very under cooked. Atmosphere and service was great. Nice place to go for a glass or two of wine and the orange cake dessert was stunning, we will however wait a while prior to returning.
This is my favorite restaurant in Victoria and one of my top anywhere. Excellent food and drinks. High quality ingredients and exceptional execution.
food was interesting, mostly good, the quiche was creamy and cold...no what was expected...all else was good
the space is very loud, and very busy....great for after Theatre at theatre Inconnu or the Belfry...but busy, so make reservations
Very noisy but great food!
Wonderful food! Perfect ambiance. My only complaint is that there was zero options for a non alcoholic beverage other than water. This is one of my favourite places to dine but being someone that’s sober, I really appreciate when (most) restaurants have at least one or two non alcoholic options for us non drinkers or people who are the DD!
Excellent! Great food and ambience. Love the share plates and that the menu changes daily.
A fantastic evening - attentive but not intrusive service with a delicious selection of wines and an array with simple yes flavorful dishes.
Very interesting daily menu. Casually presented. Enjoyable experience.
Stages has changed...it's basically a bar now. Emphasis on loud music and booze. Food menu was very disappointing.
Won't go again despite being a frequent patron in the past.
Awesome creative menu last night, as I understand it changes everyday. Maybe coming out of a pandemic situation it felt a bit weird the lack of distancing between tables. The food was outstanding as well as the service, super friendly and informative... those mussels were to die for, almost had a fight with my wife for the last one -:) we're definitely going back. Maybe the wine is a little overpriced but having said that I'm pretty sure finding those wines is not an easy task.
We had a birthday dinner at Stages. We ordered everything on the menu and loved every item. The food was very interesting (without being weird) and beautifully prepared. The server was extremely helpful in making choices and made our dinner very special. We can't wait to come back!
We did find the noise level - the music - too loud for easy conversation.
This was my second visit. Overall it was good. Our server didn't seem to have much knowledge of their wine list. Not many vegetarian options this time. Great ambience
Horrible food. Did the tasting menu. 4 dishes had eggs in them so seemed very repetitive. The others were organ meats and foods from a can, jar some deli meat and a hunk of cheese. Will not be returning.
Disappointed. Stage used to be amazing and was my go to restaurant for years. The atmosphere is still great and the wines are excellent but the food is not as good as it used to be or could be. We had cheese and charcuterie - chefs choice - because nothing else was appealing. The selection was poor with too much meat and only one small piece of Brie with no accoutrements like chutney, sliced pear or nuts.
Hey thanks for the feed back Momo & I'm sorry but this restaurant is not the stage that used to be your go to restaurant. It changed ownership two & a half years ago & has been different ever since and I don't mean to be mean but if you didn't try any of the food then it is kind of hard to have an opinion on it no?
The food was okay, but a few dishes were overly salted. We ordered the feast, and there was a lot of food. The dishes came out too fast and we felt very rushed. Also, for a French restaurant, why was there no bread served with the meal? Very odd.
Menu options and general quantity absolutely appalling. Value for money abysmal with the lowest price for house wine set to $60.. such a major disappointment compared to the old Stage with previous owners. We. Won’t be going back.
Great food and great wine list. Definitely will make our way back again
Lively, fun neighbourhood restaurant. Great service, good food.
Stage was once our favorite place in Victoria. We just went for first time in years since it changed hands.
The atmosphere was still lovely but the food was comical. Top dollar for two bite plates. We had to go somewhere else after to satisfy our hunger
Excellent wine recommendations, fun food for sharing
The food creations were unique. Great to try different items.
great atmosphere, food, and wine. they were busy even on a sunday night
My first time to Stage since before the pandemic, but things are still great there. Service was amazing, fun atmosphere and good food.
Food was terrible. Minimalistic approach to the menu lead us to order the feast. Server could not elaborate on what that contained. We should have paid for the drinks and left at that point.
The butternut squash soup was good. The second course was a pan full of chicken hearts, a tin of sardines, and some charcuterie. We had a few bites and sent it away.
Next course was beef tongue with bone marrow and some vegetables. A few bites was enough. Vegetables were cold / undercooked. everything was sent back half eaten.
Desert was a piece of dry gluten free like chocolate cake.
We felt this was the worst dine out experience that we can remember.
This is unfortunate as we have had many great meals at Stage over the years.
Love this room - great vibe, people, food! Highly recommend
This was our first time at stage and it won’t be our last. Everything from the service to food was wonderful. Our server, Jordie, was a wealth of knowledge and super friendly.
Anna was so helpful and knowledgeable. She picked out 2 great interesting bottles of wine for us. Food was delicious. Anna made our experience relaxing and enjoyable.
It is a good restaurant with a menu that goes out of its way to be different . Some of the cocktails are tiny . It’s a tapas place strictly
Food was terrible. Over priced. Service was just okay. Not planning on going back
Excellent memorable meal with great service! Next time I will go hungrier to do the feast. A little gem!
I still love the ambiance at Stage since the new management took over. The wine selection is excellent and the food servings are more than ample for two to share. Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive. The music was a bit loud but the overall experience was excellent! I will certainly return!
Always love the food. Liam and the chef who served us made the night very special!
Great place. Got the variety menu, great food and amazing service by Jordi. Very good ambiance as well!
Russet chips were a bit stale, but overall great food and service!
Food selection was limited and noise level was high
Service was amazing and the food tasted great!
The menu changed from when I was there last so i was expecting more charcuterie but that’s my fault for not checking ahead of time :)
