    The Salmon was exquisite ! Very unique, I wish I had asked for the recipe. We also ordered a traditional thanksgiving dinner plate and shared . It was normal and good.

    We went on Thanksgiving and it was terrific. The food was great but what made it special was that the staff was so nice, especially Jim, our waiter.

    While enjoying the last sips of our wine and dessert we were asked to give up our table. We were surrounded by several empty 4 top tables yet the manager felt it necessary to ask us to surrender our table. We had not been dinning that long nor were they that busy. Up til then we were having a good experience.

    First time at Squire House and expectations were exceeded. The staff is very cordial, professional, and timely. The food was exquisite and priced more than fairly for the quality. We sat in the bar area where we felt tucked away from the rest of the restaurant, which we liked. The comfort and quality of the furniture was notable and made us want to stay all night. Can’t think of one thing they didn’t do exceptionally well at. We will be regulars here for future outings.

    Squire House is a great, while lesser known, restaurant in Bozeman. The food was fantastic. The ambiance is classy Bozeman. Our server was cranky unfortunately but a gentleman, who I believe must be the owner, visited us several times during our meal and his attentiveness more than made up for the shortcomings of our server. I would wholeheartedly recommend Squire House.

    We were the only people there. Caesar salad was wilted and had dressing dumped on top like it came out of a jar. Shocked they are still in business.

    Same review I left on Google. I'm that satisified.... Second visit will be the last. We ate here in 2018 soon after opening and while not as bad as last Saturday wasn't all that special and we decided to give them another chance. After being seated it took quite a while for our table to be served and the restaurant was EMPTY on a Saturday night. After the food was served, I can see why they are empty while the rest of Bozeman was packed. The "flatiron" steak was overdone sirloin, the fries were greasy and bland (menu called them herb fries and they were just straight out of canola oil), the tempura green beans did not resemble any tempura we have ever had (just breaded and fried, but not tempura batter), the calamari wasn't very fresh and tasted quite fishy, the "cranberry bbq" on the pork chop was ketchup with maybe a hint of cranberry. I ordered a side of broccolini and wasn't informed that they didn't have it, but was substituted grilled green beans (following an appetizer of green beans) and billed for the broccolini. The only good thing we had were the scallops and the bar drinks. Overpriced. How it has 4.0 stars is beyond me. Won't return.

    The restaurant has a comfortable vibe and the food was good, which earns 4 stars each. The service was terrible - not due to the waitstaff (apparently they were short-staffed) but due to the way the manager handled my complaint. We arrived 10 minutes early for our 7pm reservation and were seated promptly with no menus or water. So we found our own menus. It happens. The server took our drink order and said she would be back to take our food order. We waited again for her to take our food order, nearly 10 minutes. The cocktail arrived even later. The first two pasta dishes were served at 7:55pm after my daughter told the manager that she had a flight to catch, and we were told the burgers were being plated. The burgers were still not on the table at 8:05pm. I approached the manager to explain again that we had a flight to catch at 10pm and we had been seated for over an hour without food. He was not apologetic. Instead he showed me the time on our ticket and rationalized that others were served ahead of us because their orders were put in before ours. Right. We were seated without menus or water and watched people walk in later than us and get seated with menus and water before us and get orders taken before us. Does a 7pm reservation mean anything at Squire House? No, according to this manager's attitude. Zero customer empathy. The manager doesn't seem to know that industry standard for 2 pasta dishes and 4 burgers should be ~20 minutes to come out of the kitchen. My brother joked that they had to catch the elk before they served it. ;-) After we paid and were leaving, he approached me to say that maybe he could give us a discount for the bad service. Ya think??? Too little too late for me.

    We had a really great dinner at Squire House while in Bozeman for my son's graduation from MSU. We were welcomed immediately and given a choice of tables, which was definitely appreciated. We chose a quieter table in the bar area and had a lovely server, Liberty, who took fantastic care of us. The food was outstanding - my son said it was the best meal he's had since being in Bozeman the past 4 years! My only comment is I wish there were a a couple more vegetarian options on the menu. But all in all a wonderful experience.

    We had a lovely evening recently at Squire House. The food was excellent, I had the small filet which was very good. The lemon vinaigrette dressing on the house salad is outstanding. Nice atmosphere, relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable.

    Ordered 2 of the ribeye. Both steaks were very boring. Very thin(seemed like it was run over by a truck), very fatty, and lacking flavor. Sadly was not worth the $39 price tag, nor was it what we have come to expect the Squire House. Have dined here about 5 or 6 times before, and each time it has been really great! Unfortunately this time it did not meet that standard. The service though was wonderful, as usual! Might come back again, just won't be getting the ribeye.

    The meal began with a caesar salad which was cool, crisp, and perfectly dressed. My wife had the short rib special. I was lucky enough to get a bite. It was tender, loaded with flavor, and made me wish I had ordered it. I had the petite fillet which was also perfectly cooked and delicious, as were all the sides. It will become one of our favorite places to dine while in Bozeman.

    There was no host as we walked in someone came a looked for our reservation and said okay one second. 20 minutes passed by and 2 other couples were sat before us however they arrived after us. After finally getting to the table the services was strange right off the bat. Our server sat down with us at the table to take our order and did not have the ability to answer any of our questions. We received our appetizers pretty quickly and they were good. It then took an 45 minutes after finishing our appetizers for our entree to come out. There was only 4 other tables in use at the restaurant and 2 people at the bar. Overall strange experience would not recommend this to any of my friends.

    We have become regulars at Squire House, over the past couple of years. Friendly staff, owner and the best cocktail in Bozeman, (The Bozeman) & beef short ribs never disappoint!

    Waitress was very nice but inexperienced so service suffered Food was cold and not very tasty. I ordered the special, a bacon wrapped filet. It came out as a 4oz filet with a piece of precooked bacon on top. Asparagus wasn’t cooked to done and potato purée appeared to be leftover. No one’s meal at our table was acceptable. It would appear this restaurant is in its way out. They have a total of 12 steak knives for the place; glassware is in short supply and the manager comes out in a dirty ball cap to ask how the meal is. I would think an upscale hotel such as the Element would ensure they have a better restaurant on property. The drinks were good. That’s it.

    We went for my fiancés 21st birthday and Jim was our server. He pampered my fiancé in the best way possible. Very sweet guy, great service, and funny. The food is amazing but we would go back just to see Jim again.

    We loved our server he was amazing! Jim was very knowledgeable and spoke with intelligent humor to entertain. We had the elk burger and Salmon. The elk burger was cooked beautifully, as for the salmon, not our favorite. They service Jim gave though made up for the Salmon.

    Dinner at The Squire House was a disappointment. I had the carbonara pasta and it was not tasty at all. The dish came out cold with clumps of unmelted cheese, the bacon was not crispy, and it was soaking in a salty broth. There was really no flavor except salt. Not at all what I would except expect for a carbonara. The shrimp cocktail was ok, but for $14 there were only 4 shrimp. We also ordered the filet, which was decent, but the potatoes seemed to be fake. They have an open kitchen concept and the chefs did not appear to be put together or show professionalism. With the prices we paid, this was a disappointment and just didn’t meet our expectations. Perhaps this restaurant has suffered from the Covid labor shortage and rising costs of food, and for that I would extend them some grace. They just need to up their game and put more quality and flavor into their dishes.

    Atmosphere is quiet and calm. Better than super load fancy restaurants. Food options are adequate but very tasty. The pork chop was great and the mashed potatoes are to die for. On top of this, the value is great. The Squire House is 15-25% less than other high-end eateries in Bozeman with great food and atmosphere!

    Great location in downtown Bozeman, close to parking garage so no worries about where to park. Food is always fabulous. High ceilings make it a little loud if the restaurant is busy - but not where you can't still have an enjoyable evening. I would recommend if you haven't been there.
