Parking is available in the Bishop Square Parking Garage (entrance is on Alakea Street). It is just $2 with validation. There is a 2hr parking limit during the day before 5:00pm M-F. No limit afterwards, and all day Saturday. To get to Square Barrels after parking, take the elevator to the ground floor and walk towards Hotel street.
Public transit
Most buses that go through Downtown Honolulu will stop in front of us. We are in the courtyard of Bishop Square right by the Hotel and Alakea bus stops.

Great service and good beer selection. Even willing to provide a taste of some of the selection, which was much appreciated. Food was great but portions were small for my desire.

Arrived to find entire menu changed from website expectation. Reservations about 8:15pm, so remained positive to try things out. Four apps and five entrees were super disappointing. Seasoning overpowering and inedible. Cocktails pronounced of heavy thick sugar syrup. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Luckily found dinner elsewhere. Would not return to Square Barrel.

We sat at the bar, with my 8 year old son and really enjoyed it. Bartenders were helpful on picking out what to eat from their new menu.

Reservations were available so we made them for a high top. Got to the restaurant exactly at out reserved time and they acted surprised that we were there then offered us a seat at the end of another table in the corner. Won’t head back to this place.

Definitely a hidden gem downtown, so happy to have stumbled upon it. Very flavorful food, not your typical greasy bar food. The burger and fish sandwich was super tasty, lots of different flavors. Bar service was great, bartenders were friendly, attentive and prompt. Will be back real soon.
