Packs Tavern was very accommodating of my food sensitivities. Not only were they willing to modify menu items to fit my diet, they made sure my meal was still delicious. Great service and great atmosphere too!
Enjoyed had good service with server in training. Food was great. Excellent choice for casual dining. Recommended by friend
We had never been there before but will definitely go back
Excellent food and service! I will visit again when I'm in the area!
Tasty, fresh grinders, wonderful wings. Great pimiento cheese dip! Our server Christian was the best: friendly & efficient.
Great food and great service! Personal attention from waiters far exceeded that found in most restaurants.
We went there for dinner before taking the Ghost Tour. We were greeted by smiles as if we were old friends even though it was our first visit. The place has a cool history in that it was once a speakeasy and a place where moonshine was made and sold. Our waiter was so much fun! Not only did we get great service but after dinner he gave us a quick tour and showed us the tunnel (now closed off) where a few mason jars still sit on the dusty shelves. He even posed for a couple of photos.
As for the food we had an appetizer of pretzels and beer cheese. Our guests said it was an good as any they’d had in London. Our salads were fresh and when my friend asked for hers to be made a specific way her request was quickly and correctly accomendated. The salmon my husband and I split was moist and delicious and we were offered several good substitute side dishes to accommodate our garlic and onion allergies.
All in all we had an awesome visit and plan to return to Pack’s Tavern next time we visit Asheville.
It was a great experience.
Awesome server and food! Wonderful atmosphere in a great location!! Will come again on our next visit to Asheville!
It was fantastic..everything about it. Food is incredible and great presentation for even basic foods.
We were out of towners. The building is historic and awesome. It’s a great location to take a walk after dinner. Food and drink selections were great. There are so many options in downtown Asheville and this is no exception. We ended up eating there a second night because of the overall experience. Both waiters we had were great. Very personable and helpful.
Horace was our server and made it a fun time for all five of celebrating summer in Asheville!!!
We live in Charlotte. Packs Tavern in Asheville is 2 hours away. It was worth the drive. My husband got the grilled cheese and chili. It was delicious. I got the Fish and Chips and French Onion Soup. It was equally as delicious. The service was wonderful as well. I ordered a beverage that wasn't quite as expected. Our server took it back and made a new one with a few suggestions for the bar tender. It came back perfect.
Nothing special - average pub fare, but the beer selections were good
We arrived right as they opened, so there was no wait. We started with the cheese bread which was excellent. Waiter made two great entree recommendations (bison meatloaf and fish/chips). Overall excellent experience.
Enjoyed the food, service, drinks, overall experience.
Great dining experience. Would definitely return. Nice atmosphere. Pet friendly.
Fried chicken salad mostly plain lettuce. Fish tacos were not up to Pack standard. Service was average unlike past visits. Overall disappointing visit.
This was our second visit to Pack's. We like its casual atmosphere, its gluten-free options, and its friendly service. The food is okay, but maybe it's best to stick to the burgers and other stand-bys.
Excellent food and service. The ribs with blackberry Bar B Q sauce were great! The Fish and chips were good and plentiful!
Awesome and very friendly server!
Great lunch before Biltmore visit.
Lots of good menu options, busy but not a crowded feeling. Helpful attentive staff.
Just normal tavern food & drink. No biggie.
It was a great place to take my sister for her birthday, and a good start to our visit in Asheville. She enjoyed the pork chop dinner, and I was very pleased with the chicken.
Great service, beer & food, easy reservation, great find!
Good food. Friendly service. Timing of different courses where a tad fast.
Ribs were amazing . Fried green tomatoes done perfect . Only downside was haddock for fish was not fresh ..frozen...my husband is from England so was disappointed . Waiter great .
Pepsi instead of Coke! Will never understand why restaurants offer their “valued customers “ the number two choice. Also, they don’t seem to know that chili with beans is NOT chili. Just trying to help you get better.
We were warmly greeted and seated at a high top where we could watch the Tampa vs Boston hockey playoff game.
Great selection of craft beer and a menu with something for everyone.
Food was fresh and flavorful.
Service was outstanding!
We'll return again!
We dined early, with a party of 8. One of us was served chicken that was ice cold. Two in our group ordered salmon cooked through. One piece needed to go back 3 times as it still was not cooked! One person asked for more sauce for her taco twice and was brought salsa twice! I ordered 2 apps as my meal and they were brought out way before the rest of the food, even when I specifically told the server to bring them with everyone’s meals. Not the best night at Pack’s Tavern.
Everything was delicious and the service was great! The only drawback was the noise level-it
was hard to hear anybody talking!
Great service. Good selection of good and Carolina beers.
the service was outstanding, the food was really good, not gastronomic, but tasty and fairly priced. I would eat here as often as I could, but the crowds sometimes make that difficult. it is in the middle of the tourist area, and they know a great meal when they see it.
Food was delicious! Service was slow.
Made reservation and glad we did. Several people waiting. Great atmosphere w lots of different beers on tap. Great variety. Almost to much to choose from. The pot roast was awesome. The ribs were so so. We had the deviled eggs as an appetizer and they were great! Definitely would go back
I never review. Have to for Packs. It was a busy night and there was a mistake made. It happens. No big deal. The way it was handled is why I will always come to Packs. No BS apology like everywhere else. It was like the world stopped, they corrected the problem, didn’t dwell on it and moved on. 100% professional. The food is awesome also. Great place.
The food was excellent and the price was great too
Good food with a very good craft beer selection. Packs has much more than just pub food fare.
Always a great spot for delicious food. Varied menu has something for everyone.
