   Their remodel of the interior looks awesome! They've redone the ceiling, so the noise level is much, much better. The food and atmosphere was just terrific. All the updates have really made this a lovely place to dine! They told us they're repainting the outside, they have a new roof, and they have further plans for next summer!    Not as good as last visit in March. Longer waits in between courses. Didn't get the server we asked for. 2 dinners were great, 2 were mediocre. Was disappointed as we brought friends and bragged about our 1st experience.

   While the meal was maybe 20% more than we expected, we cannot speak highly enough about the quality of the food and service. The salads were fresh, perfectly dressed, and good size. And the marinated cherry tomatoes were unbelievable. We both had Halibut and both the fish and mushroom risotto were stupendous. We’ll definitely be back for special occasions.

   I cannot find superlatives sufficient to describe our experience last night. Service, as always, was excellent…attentive without being overbearing, warm without being obsequious, timely without hovering. The food…simply fantastic. Every single dish, from the bruschetta-style appetizer to the fresh and brilliantly prepared scallops to the crème brûlée…was excellent. Prices are very reasonable considering the inspired preparations across the board. Our table for six was raving throughout, and my only reluctance in saying so is the fear that we won’t be able to get a res when we want to. Bravo to the chef, kitchen team, and server!

   This was out first visit this year but our 5th visit since the opening in the summer of ‘22. They’ve made some nice improvements to the aging facility. The best one is the noise canceling ceiling tiles that have helped the deafening noise level significantly. It really works! The bar area is beautiful and the new carpet is very sharp. Food is still first rate with limited but good choices. It’s pretty expensive but it’s worth it. Servers are very good and personable. Their problem continues to be the very long wait for the food. It’s almost ridiculous! We enjoy dining here but the long wait between courses makes us think twice before making a reservation. Other than that Chef Tommy has done a remarkable job.

    Brunch was very good. Breakfast Sopes were excellent. The combination of Hollandaise and Sausage Gravy was heavy on the chicken dish. Mimosas were priced at $12. This restaurant was not down by the bay, and the ambiance felt a little outdated/quiet. We were able to get a reservation easily.

    We had a fantastic meal last night. The ambiance was quiet, fresh and delightful. Phillip was our server and he was super friendly and extremely attentive but not all stalky. The food was perfect - very fresh and flavorful.

    We made a reservation and our table was promptly ready for us. We both got the chicken and gnocchi and it was delicious. Looking forward to coming back when the menu is updated for the summer season or when we are ready for chicken and gnocchi again. Our server was a knowledgeable and friendly gentleman who was efficient and polite. Great job Chef

    The food was AMAZING though expensive but we knew that going in. Portions were good sized. The Spring salad with beets was fantastic with a wonderful vinaigrette. Cocktails were great! We were too full for dessert. The only thing that I didn't love was the building location, outside and inside vibe. They did their best to turn an old Italian restaurant into a nice interior but the stucco, red leather booths, and beams on the walls wasn't doing it for me. Bathroom was redone and very nice.

    What a great addition to the Petoskey eating scene. The food is excellent, creative, tasty and visually appealing. The menu changes frequently, so it's never boring, and there are always interesting things to find on the menu. The service is outstanding...professional but warm and informed. Our server most recently was Heidi, who is always engaging and personable, with great recommendations. Very knowledgeable about the food and wines. Delighted that Spring and Porter has joined the community.

    The food was delicious, from the appetizer to the main course to the dessert. Amazing!! The service on the other hand was barely average for a higher end restaurant. And a few other things that were disappointing: 1. Parking is not sufficient for this restaurant. Not one spot left to park in 2. Had to wait 15 minutes even though we were on time for our reservation 3. Service was slow, and had to ask a couple of times for drinks and for bread. Drink orders should be much faster, especially as we decide on dinner selections. 4. Server promised us a free drink (after taking a long time to get us a drink), and still charged us when the bill came. There were a few basics in fine dining that were just missed, we had higher expectations since the head chef came from Chandlers. And you always seem to have the perfect experience from Chandlers. I do want to return again soon, and hopefully have a better experience. Maybe it was just an “off-night” for this restaurant.

    Jen and Philip were amazing! The best drink I’ve ordered in a restaurant in northern Michigan. The halibut was amazing, tartare was perfect, the crème brûlée was fantastic. Will be back for the lady’s birthday in May.

    A perfect experience from 1st course to last. The space prior to Spring and Porter had always felt loud and outdated the new ceiling and carpeting has really improved the acoustics. Can't wait to come back to have the halibut and oysters again. The drinks were also delicious, and the service was great!

    Wowsers- yet another smash hit of a meal for Easter Brunch! The bloody mary was top notch and all dishes were terrific! The fried chicken Benedict was a great and previously uncontemplated marriage of sausage gravy and hollandaise and the puff pastry take on croque madame was fresh- great work, S & P!!

    We had brunch on Sunday which was much better than dinner the week before. I had the smash burger which was excellent-just needed to be more medium well to well done. My husband had eggs, bacon, potatoes and all were excellent. Fresh squeezed juices very good. Will definitely come back for brunch. Only reason I didn’t give it a 5 is because there were only a few tables full when we were there and they sat us next to the table of 5 that were loud talking to the chef most of the time we were there. Would have liked to be seated away from the other table.
