   This is a cute little restaurant with super friendly staff and absolutely delicious food!! The Spindle Schnitzel was so crisp and fresh-tasting (not a hint of the grease it was fried in) and the portion was huge! Same with the crab linguine - large portion, deliciously crisp toasted bread crumbs over creamy linguine with just a hint of pepper spice. Being from New Orleans, we were skeptical of the beignets. However, we were most pleasantly surprised with the crispiness and lightness of them! They definitely passed muster and we highly recommend

   Well prepared and diverse menu. Greeted with birthday wishes by entire staff. Chef adjusted an entree to accommodate an allergy and the meal was delicious. Service was friendly, prompt and attentive. We'll be going back and highly recommend! BTW, if you're into rustic, the ambience is a 5.

   The food was delicious and plentiful. The service was very good. The menu has a wide variety of items. The bathrooms were nice and clean. We will be back!

   Unique and delicious food. Would have liked to b e seated in main dining room part but was still a very nice experience.

   The food and service were remarkable. The ambience was lovely and although it got very full, the acoustics were great. We did have to leave after two hours (we ordered a lot) because they needed the table. That wouldn’t happen in Europe where I live. Nonetheless I loved it and would highly recommend it.

   Disappointing. This restaurant had good reviews, so I took my niece here for her birthday. The menu was very limited. Not nearly what was shown online. Maybe 5 - 6 apps, 5 dinners some salads and some burgers. We had the shrimp toast app. It was some bread with tomato based sauce and some cheese???? Their crabcake was bland, but they did bring out some seafood seasoning. The homemade mac and cheese was bland and the noodles mushy. The risotto was also mushy and underseasoned, although the seafood in it was good. The Beignets were over cooked being a little soft inside, but very crunchy at the butter edges. Very hard to eat. The best part of either meal were the muscles in the risotto, the little parmasean crisps in the risotto, and pretty good sweet tea. Not going back.

   Hi Ruth, We are so sorry that you didn't enjoy your experience with us. We did change our menu on April 1st with the introduction of our new chef, which we tried to advertise as much as possible! It sounds like we have some kinks to work out, so we appreciate your feedback.

   Spoon and Spindle has a new spring menu from a newly promoted Head Chef. The food is better than ever, and I adore the new wild mushroom frittata. From brunch to dinner, this is still the best spot in all of central Virginia.

    Lovely small restaurant. Food was delicious. I had the grilled chicken sandwich; my husband had the steak frites. Friends had the large salad and the garlic noodles bowl. Our server was extremely attentive. The noise level, particularly for those of us with hearing aids, can be high as the ceiling is high. We always enjoy meeting there for lunch.
