We went early so it was pretty quiet but it got very load in there by the time we left. Service was fine, I think we had a new server? But he was eager, authentic and was def doing his best. We had a food issue and had to send something back, no worries though, the manager came over and quickly fixed the situation. The food was excellent. We had vegetarians with us & Romeo had zero issues making substitutions. It may seem pricey but the portions were large enough to split 3 ways and were incredibly delicious making it a real value. I highly recommend!
My date showed a little early, and they wouldn't seat her right away. No big deal since I showed up 5 minutes later. Service for the most part was good, although they did forget a drink we ordered. The kale salad was very good, and the pizza just decent. Still, all in all, an acceptable experience
Everything about the meal was superior. However, we are native New Yorkers, and were shoved to the table farthest in a blind corner of the room, while the restaurant was half empty. Unnecessary, and stupid if you expect repeat business. The front man on Saturday night should’ve stepped up and done better for us. Everything else about the place is great
Great time as always - amazing pizza and steaks here. Had a great bday meal with my homies.
Fantastic as always
The food is so good
Service so nice
Great decor, buzIng atmosphere, and an amazing pizza alongside one of the best salads we've ever had (kale and apple with toasted walnuts, summer fruits, crispy freekeh... Wow!!)
Badly prepped food (hamburger) that was not at all close to how the burger typically tasted. Their prep tasks for it was to wrap it in butcher paper and possibly freeze it. We asked how the meat was stored.
Had to check out this pizza when I found out that they had pies inspired by middle America towns like St. Louis. Really enjoyed it!
The octopus appetizer was fantastic, but this was the only thing that was good. The beets in the roasted beet salad were hard to cut, the grilled chicken was some chicken pieces in a sauce, and the $50 steak was just OK. The video for this restaurant portrays a much better picture of what you will experience. The service was very good, but it’s hard to make up for mediocre food.
The first time I ate at Speedy Romeos was outstanding. I couldn't wait to come back. So, on a recent visit to NY from LA I came here with some friends. We ordered the Caesar salad, which was a stand out of the meal, and the grilled artichoke app. There were three baby half artichokes on a plate of arugula. Considering there were four of us dining the portion was disappointing but the flavors were good. We also ordered the grilled octopus which was excellent. For entrees we ordered the wood fired garlic chicken which all of the meat eaters at the table said was excellent. We ordered the Anton Ego veggie pizza which was beyond disappointing. Bland, flavorless, limp. The Saint Louie with sausage and picked peppers was better but just Meh. For dessert we ordered the olive oil cake which also had no taste and was just meh. I won't write them off yet, but if my next trip does not live up to the first great meal I had here, there are other pizza spots in NY and I don't need to waste my time here.
Pizza is good. The environment and vibe is a little off
Love Speedy Romeos. Always great!
Will be there again soon!
Amazing brunch with some awesome specials.
Amazing pizza, festive environment
Server was terrible. Clearly we were talking all night. Just take the order and work around us. No need for all the interruptions.
The pizza was fantastic! Some of the best I’ve had. Our service was great, too. I will definitely return.
Seriously some of the best Pizza I have ever had. The Octopus and Mozzarella are to die for. For sure coming back.
I must admit, the atmosphere and decor was not what I expected. That being said, we got there early so there was no crowd and noise. Our server was funny and attentive. The food was very unique!! Italian stuffed hot peppers....try them. The pizza....unique yet classic thin crust with the perfect toppings. If I didn't leave on the whole other side of the country, I'd be back for sure.
Octopus app was fantastic as well as the pizza. Great casual atmosphere with neighborhood vibe. Will definitely go back.
Best chicken wings I've had in a long time! Cute atmosphere and friendly service.
Great spot for pizza and a group get together.
Bar also has a great vibe to meet friends and bop around the lower east side.
some food sauces were too strong but overall great meal and service.
One of the best places on the LES. The food was wonderful.
Everything we ordered was so delicious. The ribs were cooked to perfection. The wings were just the right amount of spice. The pizza was off the charts. My husband had the hamburger the meat and the way it was cooked was absolutely perfect. The dish of asparagus and ramps was so very good. Kudos to the Chef and the entire kitchen staff.
And the wait staff could not have been more accommodating.
The food is amazing. Get the white album
And the one with Katz’s pastrami on it. It’s totally unique with tons of favor!
Very loud maybe there’s different seating. Also 22$ for a small pizza?
We love speedy Romeo food and staff are always on point!
Cool spot! We went with a salad and a pizza to split between two people. BIG salad--more than enough to share. Ordered the white pizza, so delicious. Definitely recommend!
got an early weekday lunch, had the restaurant to ourselves. Lives up to the hype about their pizza. the pastrami pizza was really really good. Staff was friendly and attentive. Fun and eclectic beer selection. offered tastes of some of the more unusual beers. Would definitely return next time we are in NYC. Located on a nice quiet neighborhood street.
Seriously good food done right. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable and the food is outstanding! This is my second visit here and it was as good as the first. We’ll be back again and again!
The date went well and the food and wine were quite nice. I’d go back.
Excellent every time. Essentially all wood grilled (including cooked veg, even stuffed long peppers), outstanding steaks, pizzas. And in spite of our intended discipline, we seem always to order the ever-heavenly King Salami pizza. Service quick, efficient, friendly and highly competent. Can sit at counter overlooking kitchen, production, oven and grill which is its own symphony in a small space.
This place was really great, the only dissatisfaction I had was I wish the pizza was left in the oven just a touch more to be a little more golden and I ordered a pizza with anchovies which I wish was cut up more and incorporated. I am really nitpicking, but a very sweet little date night spot.
Pizzas are the thing to get here! Chicken parm was...odd.
The food was great.
Our teens sat a happy distance away from us adults - and all enjoyed our more intimate conversations and food!
We just love the staff and vibe of speedy Romeo. We live close by and it’s perfect for a date night. Friendly and welcoming energy from the staff keeps us coming back. The food is spot on and love the wood oven effect.
Felt a bit weird ordering a steak at what is primarily pizza place but wow am I glad I did. Ordered the prime dry aged ribeye for 2 and it was spectacular. Pretty surprising.. everything else we had was good as well. The chicken wings, octopus, etc
We ate at Speedy Romeo, after participating in Escape the Room, around the corner. It was a birthday treat for our daughter and her friends. The staff at Speedy Romeo were exceptionally welcoming. They were funny and accommodating to a group of teenage girls. They did not rush us through dinner, and you know how gabby teenagers can be. The pizza was excellent as well as the appetizers: the artichokes and the octapus. We had several orders of each. The wine was good, although on the pricey side, but happy hour helped. We recommend it that you try it.
Went for my bday. Great experience. Took a while to bring out the food!
