Enjoyed trying out the BBQ but it was just ok.
I made an reservation for dinner, got there and was told they had a limited menus!! That is not what we had seen online. It was to late to go else where, we ordered and it was terrible. Did not eat in the restaurant for the two days we had left.
My party of four were not met at the entrance at the time of our reservation. We tracked down wait staff and were seated “wherever you like”, then we were told to go look at the buffet to see if we’d like that. When we said we’d rather order from the menu it was clear they preferred we didn’t. Our waiter was kind but not very attentive. We tried again at breakfast and had much better results. Would eat here again.
Food was good. Getting my bill took a abnormal amount of time.
15 $ burgers gave me gas & a loose stool. The place is inside the Sheraton hotel. I've noticed that hotel restaurants are a lower caliber of food.
Excellent pulled pork, asparagus, and Caesar salad. Our waitress, Jessie, was outstanding. Great night!
I will not return to this restaurant . The food was horrible.
No front receptionist to confirm our Open Table reservation. Had to ask server to check. After long wait after ordering, we were informed that the ordered entree was no longer available. When opened a rolled cloth napkin, globs of food were on the fork. Disgusting. Food was uninspired/uninspiring. Vegetables were very overcooked. Would not eat there again. The hotel must greatly improve its food offerings as this is the only restaurant on-site.
The food was pretty good overall ... slightly below average for this part of KC with the old freight warehouse restaurants just across the street. Our server required prompting to take a drink order. Soups and mains came out together. Basic things that detract from a meal.
Good service and a good BBQ sauce on the meat. Chicken and turkey quite good but the beef brisket was awful. Wouldn't know it was brisket.
Very tough and gristly. Baked beans and fries were good. But onion rings a little over breaded.
Spectator's happened to have a dinner buffet this evening at a ezxtremely reasonable cost of $15. The buffet included baked potato soup, salad bar, country fried steak with gravy, fried chicken, green beans sauteed with bacon and garlic mashed potatoes. Also included was a dessert table with several delicious desserts. Well worth the $15.
While the food was fantastic, the service was extremely poor. Our waiter was friendly when he took our order and spoke with us for a couple of minutes, but after our food order was in he didn't come back until about fifty minutes later to hand us our check (about twenty minutes after we finished our food). Another server delivered our food for us. He never check on how our food was, nor did he check on our drinks, and didn't ask about dessert. It wasn't busy at all, and there were other servers, so there was no excuse. I will not be recommending them to anyone else.
The first issue was admittedly my fault, the restaurant is within a hotel so my wife and I had trouble finding it. Once we were in the lobby, the signage was not clear on how to get to the restaurant but a hotel employee helped guide us there.
When we arrived there was no host to seat us, although the sign clearly asked us to wait for someone to seat us. After several failed attempts to get the staffs attention, I took it upon myself to grab menus and find a seat. A few minutes passed by and I had to flag someone to assist us, they brought us water and assured the waiter would be coming by. Upon reviewing the menu, it was not the same as advertised on OpenTable and with no one yet to come and take our order we decided to leave.
We enjoyed the delicious food & really enjoyed our waiter, Joe.

Made reservation. No one at check in. We had to hunt down kitchen help. They said it would me 35-45 minutes before they could seat us. Or we could go to the bar area and wait for over an hour for our food. Unimpressed and hungry, we asked her to cancel the reservation and went elsewhere.
Great food, cooked perfectly. Wonderful taste. I am already looking forward to going back.
The BBQ was better than I expected. Nice combo of sweet, smoke, and spice. I'd like to go back during a happy hour and try out their burgers.
Pork wings were glorious!!!!! Filet with mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables were awesome as well.
The service was a little lacking and no one greeted us when we arrived. We were not sure if we should wait to be seated or just sit down.
Spectators was a lovely place with good service and wonderful food. The menu is just varied enough for gastropub fare. I would recommend the pork wings and brisket sandwich, and the flatbreads were excellent as well. Service was very good and our server was friendly and engaging.
Good food, ambience and attentive Staff.
The food was okay. Very, very limited menu at well separated from their bar. The server constantly complained about being a tired college student and acted like it was too much trouble to server us. Since we were staying at the hotel, at least we got a 10% SPG discount.
They canceled our reservation on Open Table an hour after we arrived on time and had finished dining. I never got credit for using Open Table.
It was difficult finding it at first but once we did it was a good experience. Nice environment and clean. Service was great! Went for my birthday and the server was nice and friendly. I believe his name was Gary :) Also made me a good mixed drink for me. I would for sure go back and refer to others.
After no one greeted us at the hostess stand, we walked into the bar. They didn't know anything about any reservations. They then sat us in the bar area with 2 children in our party. Televisions were blaring. We were little more than an inconvenience to them.
Delicious fresh food. I would eat there again. Prices are reasonable also. Not too crowded on a weekday but not dead either.
When we arrived for our lunch reservation, we had to wait almost 5 minutes for the hostess to check on our table. We were shown to two 2-seat tables side by side for our party of 5 people. We had to ask to have the tables pushed together and an extra chair pulled up. Waited 10 minutes to have our drink order taken. Waited another 10 minutes to have our lunch order taken. Two people in our party ordered the exact same dish and they were both prepared differently. Service was slow and unfriendly. We won't be returning.
I made a reservation for a client appreciation gathering and was beyond pleased with Stephanie our server. She went out of her way to make sure we had all our needs met and that I understood who was available to help me. She didn't interfere or "hover" but was readily available when needed. I appreciated her attention to detail to ensure that our gathering was perfect.
We left before we ate. There was no one to seat us, and when we finally were seated after flagging someone down, no one came to take our order.
Terribly slow and even when the food did come out, more than half was wrong. I should say it was the day of the biggest parade in KC history and they were obviously not prepared AT ALL. But at least that's somewhat of an excuse.
My family and I went to Spectators for Sunday brunch after my Saturday evening wedding. We had about 17 people and we had a reservation and they were ready for us when we arrived. The buffet was great, both kids and adults loved it. If/When I stay at the Sheraton again I'm sure I will visit this restaurant.
very nice place , comfortable , a little classy and fun at the same time
we had a shrimp appetizer, slow cooked short ribs, and buttercake for dessert - all were delicious. The market veggies had great flavor. The buttercake was incredibly moist and rich and truly one of the best desserts around. we went on Sunday afternoon so there was plenty of room, no waiting and attentive service.
Horrible service, over priced specialty drinks and bar food
We were at Union Station for New Year's Eve with our two young children. I was surprised to find an available reservation on OpenTable so close and on such short notice. Clearly the restaurant was understaffed for NYE, since it took quite a while to find someone to seat us and then for a server to come to our table. Once we ordered, the food and drinks came rather quickly, but interestingly by several different servers. I'm willing to give it another chance on a normal night.
Overall, the food was above average and certainly beyond my usual expectations for a hotel's casual restaurant. Since the hotel validates parking for 3 hours in the convenient garage, I would readily consider coming back some other time.
We had a party of 18 and they opened up the restaurant side just for us. They were very flexible and provided great service. Will dine there again.
