The food has yet to fail a recommendation. Even the simple Veggie Stack doesn't let me down. I try to taste something different every time. I rarely order a dessert, but I suggest to step out of your classic cheesecake and creme brulee and order something different! It's worth the risk!!
Excellent service and the food was amazing! Quality staff and a great place to go with a group or just two!
Jason was very knowledgeable about the menu and helped us make great decisions. We loved our experience at SPAGIO.
Our server Nick was amazing! The food pallet was perfect! Can’t wait to come again!
I've been a huge Spagio fan for a few years. I hadn't been in since the ownership changed, and it's hard to know if that's the issue or not. What I do know is that while the service was still excellent, and the dessert was still excellent, my entree was decidedly not excellent. The gnocchi were dried out if they weren't under sauce, as if they had been sitting in a window under a heat lamp for a while.
It was just disappointing after holding up Spagio is a totally reliable place for a great meal in Grandview.
Was just average. The water had floating dust or mold particles, which was really gross. The restaurant only apologized but didn’t offer anything for it. BBQ chicken pizza pretty disappointing, tasted like prepackaged Lloyd’s bbq mix.
Food was ok at best, calamari was like rubber. One and done here, server was good.
Having been to Spagio occasionally over the years we decided to go back, although it’s a drive for us. We had a reservation for dinner and although there were other tables available they chose to sit us at a tiny round table near the window, more suitable for drinks. We ordered drinks and salads, both of which were very good. My husband ordered a chicken, pesto pasta. It had only a tiny amount of chicken and the sauce was very bland. I ordered the salmon dish with vegetables, which was supposed to be mushrooms and bok Choy. The salmon came out with two giant pieces of basically raw broccoli. A very disappointing meal and we won’t be back.
Great place ! Delicious food and not rushed !!! We did have a hiccup with our first drink. Waited 30 mins for it. But there was a lot going on due to Valentine’s Day and the house paid for it. So no complaints there. Loved it and will be back soon !
Spagio is an unorganized conglomerate of clashing themes. Even after having eaten there, I am still not sure what they are trying to accomplish as a culinary entity. The food is mediocre and definitely not worth the price tag. I will not be returning.
Overall very expensive for the quality of food. Service was good and our server Solomon was very attentive. We both ordered the special surf and turf valentine dinner for the main course. Both the steak and lobster tail were very small and smothered in too much butter. You couldn’t taste the steak or lobster tail only butter. Not good. I ordered the lobster bisque which was too expensive for a small cup. There were some pieces of lobster but not enough for to justify $10.50. We opted for the raspberry chocolate cake which was decent but again over priced. Unfortunately we felt disappointed with our visit to SPAGIO.
Great waiter. So many delicious options to choose from on menu
New ownership is doing well. Two good experiences. Try it out
perfect seating with reserves quiet; wait staff good food also
Restaurant was empty on a Friday night...food was ok.
Next menu selection, I loved the vegetarian vegetable stack. As delicious as it was beautiful!
Great food. Service was a tad slow at the start, but once waiter showed up all was good.
Best lobster bisque in Columbus - and totally unexpected. A must get again.
Amazing food. Parking is difficult especially on a Saturday night, but we used the valet right in front of the restaurant.
Great atmosphere and prime table by the window. SLOW drink service to the point the manager brought our drinks, apologize for the lost drink ticket and comped our cocktails. Server, Jason and his trainee were outstanding and attentive and knowledgeable. Bread was brought but was cold - lukewarm would have been nice on a feeezing night. First course calamari - excellent and house salads - perfection. Short rib special divine but lukewarm - piping hot on a cold night was my expectation. Too hungry to complain. Desserts were exceptional. Love the restaurant-Overall happy customers.!
We really enjoyed our dinner at SPAGIO! The food was excellent as always. So many great things on their menu! Can’t wait to go back!
The calamari has a good taste but not crispy and at best lukewarm. The beef shortrib entree was good tasting but again pretty lukewarm. The buckeye cheesecake was outstanding!
We picked Spagio because 1 first time there 2 offered seafood ( my wife doesn't eat meat) and 3 Had heard good things about the restaurant. Sarah was great the food incredible. Great valve for restaurant week, and we will return to dine there again..
We ate here with another couple on the last day of Columbus Restaurant week - very crowded. Our table in back - super noisy. Waitress was swamped. Took 2 hours. My salmon, salad very good. Cheesecake maybe a C. Bill was all messed up. Both my husband and I ordered $30 Restaurant Week Special - some charges ala carte. So was supposed to be $75 - bill came and was $105. Other couple had same problem. Manager re-did bill - ours then OK. Other couple, bill actually higher. Manager was rude about it.
Service was poor, food was expensive and mediocre
Sub-par at best. I would not recommend to a friend.
Don’t seat the people of color in the Back.
Their new menu is outstanding!!!!! If you haven’t been in a couple months make sure you check it out!
5 of us went after an office event. Service and food were terrific.
They have had some menu changes recently and have less desserts to offer than they used to, which was one of the reasons we would do there any time we needed to celebrate. The food was still good though and the service is always excellent, and hopefully some of our favorites will come back to the menu sometime!
Service was great. Charming, friendly and helpful, but perhaps a little unsophisticated and unworldly
Food was very tasty but pasta dish was served on the lukewarm side. Gnocchi was light and fluffy and could have been outstanding
Flavored butter was overpowering. Less garlic would have made the bouquet more enjoyable
We had a very early dinner because we were going to an OSU hockey game. Our salads came out promptly but the entrees were very slow. My entree was fine, but my husband's pasta had burned broccoli and he did not enjoy. We were seated by the window (I assume to attract customers) but on a cold night in an empty restaurant, it was quite uncomfortable. The worst part of the experience was "attempting" to pay the bill with my husband's Amex Platinum card. After a substantial delay, our server informed us that our credit card could not be processed because of a problem on their end and that another credit card would not work either. Perhaps the problem could be solved in 10 - 15 minutes! She inquired "do you have an alternative form of payment?" which would of course be cash. Fortunately we were able to pay with cash, but how many people carry substantial cash these days?
Needless to say, we will not be going back. This is our second time since the new ownership and the first experience was not much better. We thought we'd give them a second try, but will not give a third.
My wife and I dined at Spagio before a show. We had a wonderful time. The food, service and ambiance were just what we were hoping for.
Service was great
Outstanding food. Definitely one of the best fine dining restaurants in Columbus.
New Year’s Eve
Appetizers and main entrees were well prepared and enjoyed by everyone at the table. Great job!!! The desserts were disappointing...the Cranberry-Apple Almond dessert was cold--not even room temperature---it would have been so much better if served warm. The lemon raspberry cake was good but again, tasted as if it had been hanging out in a refrigerated case for a few days. All in all, everything was good.
Our arancini and panko encrusted salmon were both delicious and our server was very attentive and pleasant. Our dessert on the other hand was not very good. We chose the dark chocolate and sea salt almond ice cream to share. It had ice crystals on the top and throughout the ice cream and the almonds were soft. It definitely was NOT fresh and tasted as it had been partially thawed and refrozen or just very old.
We sat in a back room that was quieter and it was perfect for our large party. It was Christmas Eve so they were very busy. The only issue with the whole evening was that I requested a birthday candle on the dessert for our son turning 19. I told the hostess, but somehow the message did not make it to our server. That was disappointing.
