My party of 12, in town for the weekend, decide to have breakfast here. Being a large party, I began to call the restaurant a week prior to make a reservation. I called constantly during the time that the website said they were open, along with another member of my party, and were not able to get through to the restaurant. No one ever picked up the phone. Mid-week, I decided to make reservations via Open Table, along with 2 other attendees, since we not able to make one reservation for a large party. I placed a message on my Open Table reservation explaining the situation, requesting that even though we had 3 separate reservations, we wanted to sit together as a group of 12. I listed the confirmation numbers of the 2 other reservations on my Open table reservation, and continued during the week to contact the restaurant to no avail. When we arrived for our reservation, I explained the situation and wanted to make sure that the party of 12 could be seated together. The hostess/ manager on duty, let us know that there was another large party, so she could not sit us together, and started to "lecture" us about what we should have done if we wanted to have a large party seated together: "In the future, please contact us in advance if there is a large party" and then explained that we were lucky that we came at the time that we did and could be seated in the same area, but not together as a group. When I explained to her that we did attempt to do just that and left a note on our Open Table reservation, she didn't apologize, but continued to speak to us as if we were inconveniencing her. She placed us in a row of tables, but told us that we could not pull the tables together to connect them. Later, she returned, and did place the tables together, letting us know that she was doing us a favor by doing this. If we weren't from out of town, we would have left. The food was decent, but no one enjoyed themselves because of the negative treatment we received from the host.

This was my first time coming to this establishment and I really really enjoyed my experience. I enjoyed music,food,area,service just overall dinning experience was amazing ten across the board definitely!!!!!!! If you want amazing southern food and hospitality this is the restaurant for you!!!!! I definitely will Return

You have to make a reservation we went on a Saturday. I reserved a standard table when we got there initially we were told we would need to wait for the standard table but we could sit at high table we waited and the wait wasn’t that long. Food was good. The egg rolls were said to have yams chicken and collard greens the egg rolls we got did not have yams and the greens in them weren’t good. The chicken , shrimp and sides yams and cabbage were good and seasoned Mac n cheese was old school Mac n cheese like noodles and eggs not as cheesy but still good flavor .

Oh my goodness where do I start our reservation wasn’t until 415 but the we were seated before 4. The apps ,the drinks, the FOOD were amazing. The owner was so personable she came to our table to ask how was everything and we shared a few laughs. The vibes were everything!!! We came from Hampton and it was worth the drive!!! We will be back!!!

This was my first time visiting this restaurant and I really enjoyed the overall ambiance of the restaurant. The food was good but I really liked the service most of all and the way plates were presented. It was expensive (I spent around $80 for just me and did not get an alcoholic drink) but I would return to try something else.

My family and I was celebrating my husband birthday as always we truly felt welcome from the time we walked in the door. The food was very good The waitress name Kiera was very nice an very patient with our table. I will definitely visit this restaurant again it wasn’t my first and definitely will not be my last.

The collards wasn’t seasoned properly and the fried cabbage was overly fried. The drink was watered down and had very little taste. Although at reservation it was indicated the occasion was a birthday, there was no recognition of that. .

The food was great our server was a little low toned but very polite. My daughter eats nothing so she chose chicken and waffles and when I say her plate was clean when he returned. We enjoyed everything and the cornbread is amazing. Wish it was open for lunch I will probably eat a soul roll 4 times a week. Yummy

We had to wait 27 mins for a 5pm confirmed reservation. Not the best start. The staff was very polite. The food was good, the service was excellent. You need to update their menu on your website as their entree prices have increased by $10 each. This made for a very bad experience. Thankfully they did discount our meal by $19. They insisted they had no control over the menu prices you’ll were displaying and no way to contact your company to make the corrections. I find this unacceptable as it impacts their business directly. I would not use a third party outsourcing that I can’t contact and is not posting accurate information concerning my business. No matter how good the service or food $10 per entree is no small amount in this present economy especially when it is not expected.

I was happy I had a reservation! This is a very busy restaurant, for good reason! From our cocktails to our entrees', everything was excellent. The waitress was knowledgeable, helpful & polite. The ambience and decor were upscale and comfortable at the same time. I fully expected the bill to be more than it was because we had 4 entrees' and 3 cocktails, but it was under two hundred including the tip! We will be back again and again!

We discovered Southern Kitchen a couple of months ago and we absolutely love it! The food is amazing, the staff is friendly and helpful, I don't think there's a single thing on the menu that is not fabulous. I always order the fried chicken but my husband got a burger on Sunday and it was delish!!!! We absolutely love this place.
