Southern Kitchen, which is known as "The Mouth of the South" to the locals, serves up comfort food favorites. From collard greens to fried fish and chicken, the eatery provides a comfortable, relaxed spot for enjoying classic Southern food, beer, and wine for lunch, and dinner. Since opening in 2014, the restaurant has focused on providing good food paired with a classy experience and great customer service. Southern Kitchen features a variety of options for starting the meal, including fried oysters, fried okra, southern rolls, and salad. Enjoy sandwiches like the salmon cake and chicken club, or dive into some apple pecan salad, fried fish, big momma's chicken, and chicken livers and onions. Southern Kitchen also features plenty of filling plates, including the seafood platter, meatloaf, catfish, and southern-fried pork chops.

This was our first visit at the new location. The redo came out wonderfully; reminds us of "everyday upscale". Mahika was our server, she was so enthusiastic! My wife had the Kitchen Sink from the bar; she loved it (couldn't finish it)! She had the shrimp and I had the salmon; the salmon had good flavor, but was a little dry (probably because it was blackened). The Mac and cheese was the best both of us have had! It was nice to hear the live jazz trio near the entrance. The biggest downer was the cheesecake; great taste, but WAY too overpriced for just a sliver. It was the most expensive dessert we've ever seen at an upscale restaurant. We'll be back, but will probably not order dessert next time.

This was my first time eating at Southern Kitchen since they moved to Stoney Point. The location is beautiful and spacious. Parking is easy now. Several friends and I took a friend there to celebrate her birthday! She lives in Richmond but the rest of us live in Hampton Roads. It was definitely worth the trip! The food and drinks were superb! I recommend the Kitchen Sink drink (w/top shelf). We had the fried pickles, salmon bites and mouth of south shrimp for appetizers. They were all delicious! By the time we ordered our food most of us couldn't eat another bite. We boxed it up to go which was perfectly fine as we had food for the next day! We also tried the bread pudding a la mode. It was good! Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Don't let me forget our waitress Mahika who was excellent as well. We are coming back for my next friend's birthday in July!

The waitress was very friendly, nice and was able to suggest what to order. This was my 1st time visiting this restaurant. The drink was good and the food was outstanding. We didn't wait a long time ti get our food. Service was fast. I will definitely visit again.

My family and I were very impressed with the cleanliness, decor and service. Not to mention, the food was delicious, with nice portions. I definitely recommend this establishment, especially for special occassions.
