Our private dining room is for groups of ten to fourteen guests. The Private Dining Room can be reserved for a 2.5-hour experience, with available dinner times at 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Please note that a $500 minimum spend is required for the room. A credit card will be required to guarantee your reservation. This will only be charged in the event of a late cancellation or no-show. Once the reservation is made in Opentable, you will receive a link to confirm your reservation. If we do not receive credit card information within 24 hours, you will forfeit your reservation. A $250 cancellation fee will apply if the reservation is canceled within 72 hours of the event. A 22% gratuity will be automatically applied to the final bill.

Our experience at south of Nick’s Del Mar was subpar to any experience we have had at various Nick’s locations. From the hostess having no expression or greeting while spending most of the night sitting on the counter behind the hostess stand as if she was at home sitting on her kitchen counter. From the moment we were sat we waited 15 mins before being greeted by any servers. Items that were not available were not explained up front and happened to be selections from our table of guests which then wasn’t explained it was unavailable for about 20 mins after the order was placed resulting in a hasty change by one of our guests. The manager was responsive to all feedback but I would think twice before going back to this location and especially wouldn’t bring any guests or first timers with me as it was embarrassing to watch the evening unfold.

We had a great experience at South of Nick’s for a special birthday. Jordan was a wonderful server; she was very thoughtful of our needs as a table and informative, but she didn’t hover or rush us so we had ample time to enjoy our meal and converse. The seafood enchiladas and shrimp Diablo were outstanding. As were the spicy margaritas (yum). Will definitely be back!

Food was very good as was the service.. large menu with a variety of options so everyone should be able to find something they want. Nice wine list, not extensive but some good options. Prices are reasonable for both food and drink... Tables for two are really small and next to a wall/panel so you have to keep that arm down or you'll bang it off the wall. The noise level is very high.. hard to have a conversation without yelling..

The food is great here! We were pleasantly surprised! However, the margs are tasty but very weak. Also the queso needs more chorizo but besides that very happy with our meal at South of Nicks.
