   What a delightful restaurant! The service was prompt and not intrusive. The food was absolutely delicious! Beautiful live jazz music topped off a wonderful experience. Will definitely go again!

   Pre-Paid for a father’s day package, went to the restaurant, wasnt serviced for almost 2 hours. We ended up leaving and lost money on the father’s day pacakge

   This was my first time going. The service was extremely slow. I had to ask for water and a menu after about 25 minutes. The food was good and the portions were sized well. I believe with some additional training of staff the experience would be different.

   Save your money and your sanity. A $25 required hold per person, non refundable if any changes or cancellations outside of 2 days notice - we expected much better service and experience than we had. All the reviews about extremely slow and discombobulated service are on point. We had to constantly flag down our server and the manager for drinks and food orders. The wait time for our food was ridiculous. One of our dishes was not put in the system with the rest of our orders so it didn’t come out with everyone else’s meal. The manager then proceeded to put in the order “again” and that was delivered to another table. Third order was finally delivered after we had finished our meals. The food was good but not at all worth the frustration and headache of the 2.5 hr ordeal. The manager, and at times the chef as well, were having to review tabs with several tables around us. Too many other restaurants around to enjoy that get it right.

   I took my husband here for Father’s Day. We opted for the outdoor seating (the weather was kind) and they have live music. The food and drinks were really good. However, they were short staffed and not prepared to receive the amount of people that were there for Brunch that day. It took over an hour and 1/2 for us to be served. Hopefully, they fix their staffing issue and get more experienced with dealing with a larger amount of guests for folks to have a better experience. Over all the food was delicious!

   Extremely long wait time for a party of 3 ( myself, my fiancé, and out r little guy). Waitress was very flustered and received many different answers on when they officially closed. Had a 1pm reservation, didn’t get seated until 1:30. Did not come to take orders until 2:15 and said they closed at 2:30. We did get a drink and complementary pastries for the wait. When waitress returned at 2:15, we asked realistically, how long will it take to get our food. She replied 1 hour 30 minutes.. well after the restaurant “closed”. We waiting in an uncovered area of the patio that would have been bearable if the wait was not so long. We decided to take our me losses and leave.

   We could not have been more disappointed with our first experience at Soulivia’s. We made a reservation for Father’s Day. Hubby loves southern cuisine and I like jazz….we were promptly seated and told we were lucky they had menues because sometimes they don’t. I noticed the sax player was outside! It was piped in but you could barely hear it. The second thing we noticed was how incredibly quiet the other patrons were….this wasn’t a buzzing, upbeat place. The flowers on the tables were pretty dead…Only one table inside had food….which comes to the third issue, after listening to other customers and looking outside, food was taking a really long time - the couple next to us had already waited over an hour. The couple behind us had waited over an hour as well. There was no children’s menu. We did order drinks but those took over 20 minutes. We didn’t even wait for them. We ended up leaving. I understand that there is a staffing shortage and we all need to have patience….. an hour plus for food is not a good fit for our family.

   So beware service is extremely slow. We waited a hour to get our food. The staff was totally overwhelmed and it seemed to be the kitchen was moving very slow. Now with that being said the food was good and the atmosphere was fantastic. If you have time and like a nice chill place this is the spot. Just make sure you don't come hungry. 😏

    Had Father's Day reservations for 10:30am. Once seated, we were greeted by a bartender who stated it was her first day when we asked a question. We ordered off of a limited menu (Fish and Grits). Not one time in the 45 mins we were seated did the bartender/waitress come back to check on us to see if we were ok, refill our water glasses or let us know about our food we were waiting for. Fish and Grits should have not taken that long to be prepared and served. We were highly disappointed with the service and time wasted just sitting there. Wanted to support a black owned business, but this restaurant put a bad taste in our mouth based on the service alone.
