    Made reservation for lunch on a Tuesday at 12:45 to a pretty empty restaurant. Service was impeccable with frequent checking. My chili hamachi was delicious with crispy details but a tad expensive for $21. Pinot Noir from California surprisingly good at $16 per glass. With small edamame, green tea, and tip total of $50. My friend ordered the $21 lunch special featuring small salad, miso soup, selection of 2 sushi rolls, and tempura. All her food almost arrived at once vs. being paced. The sushi rice texture indicated it was rolled in advanced and dried out. The tempura didn’t look inviting with 1 big onion ring. I wouldn’t venture in again.

    Since Soto opened its doors roughly 8 years ago in Cedar Park, and the on S. Lamar, we’ve been back over 20 times and the sushi quality has been excellent EVERY SINGLE TIME. Owner, Andy is great at what he does and so humble and friendly. We love seeing him whenever he happens to be there.

    Luis provided us fantastic service and made some mean Espresso Martini’s! Food was out of this world. Sushi at its finest! The flavors were amazing! Highly recommend for Sushi lovers for a special occasion!

    Soto is a serious, top quality, laid back place. You won’t be disappointed. Happy hour pricing is awesome. We eat here 2x month and have never had anything but good experience. We live in the general neighborhood and it’s easy to get to and park. Love it.

    This is my 2nd time going to Soto with guests. The service is on point. The menu is superb, unique, and next level. We were also there to celebrate my sister's boyfriend's birthday and they recognized the occasion both at the door and at the end of the meal with three complimentary tuna rolls (delicious) and Japanese whiskey for each of us with the chef visiting our table and joining us in a toast. We will definitely return again and again.

    Went here to celebrate my honeymoon with my husband. We decided to do an omakase experience, we went with the more affordable option ($175 per person) and had such an amazing experience. It’s definitely not cheap but If you love sushi and want to treat yourself for a special occasion I highly recommend. The staff was very knowledgeable and welcoming. The food was just incredible. Each dish so memorable and the pacing was perfect. Not too fast and not too slow. We definitely don’t splurge often so i loved that the staff didn’t make us feel rushed and even treated us to free dessert and two shots of Japanese whiskey. The chef came out to say hi which was so cool. Although it was expensive we definitely got our moneys worth and I have zero regrets. The staff made us feel like royalty and we left feeling comfortably full and happy.

    The food quality exceeded my expectation by a wide margin. I didn't expect high level, authentic Japanese food in a city known for meats. Some of the dishes were creative and original. I also received very attentive services during a busy Saturday night.

    Soto's food is very specific and UCHI-like. However, the cost is VERY high. I'm a slight male and dined with a small woman. With tip (meal included 2 Saki's each) was $400. I have spent similarly another two times at the restaurant and was left satisfied but being seated outdoors-the tables and space are obviously an AFTERTHOUGHT and NOT part of the restaurant but the parking lot w/no design or ambiance except honking cars and lights from S. Lamar - was very demeaning when the restaurant was filled with fraternity-type high schoolers and University Students. The wait staff was very young and blatantly INEXPERIENCED, which is very unlike UCHI or UCHIKO. The food was good but the overall experience was terrible. Unfortunately, it was a UT Gameday but mature and paying adults should not accept this type of experience. I will not return.

    Love Soto for happy hour. The food is awesome and plating always intrigues us. However, constantly feel rushed. Super loud inside and it is very expensive for the amount you get. The happy hour is worth the price. But that should be all the pricing.
